when they had to do improv in s4 kenzie struggled with it, and melissa wasn’t in the room for that. so i think kenzie just struggles with improv - it’s not her fault, she probably wasn’t taught to have confidence in her ideas when she’s improving or smth.

Asia definitely gave Mackenzie a run for her money. But I do feel bad for Mackenzie because I think she knew she was getting out-danced and knew Abby and Melissa would get upset. She doesn’t need to be Asia to be good, I’m glad she found her own style now.

Ok I am a dancer and I hate improv. I get so shaky and scared when I have to improv and it’s because of confidence and I lack that. And my dance teacher know that and so she doesn’t yell at me if I barley improv when we have to, it’s just that I don’t like people watching me do something not related to a dance I only improv at home in my room alone.
I'm a dancer at JVS and when we have to make a dance in a small group or inprov I'm to scared to.
Sunny.xediting I love improv! And I get the self confidence part. Sometimes my mom will video be doing improv and post it on social media, even if I hate her for that I get a lot of compliments. (sorry for my ranting-)
Sunny.xediting improv is related to dance. One of the strongest parts of choreography and analysis. Studio owners need to start allowing creative freedom because the real world isn’t always going to give you counts. I feel that’s the difference between a trained studio dancer and a self taught dancer.

Kenzie can improv...she just felt intimidated being next to Asia because Asia is a much better dancer with natural rhythm and sass. Kenzie is cute as a button, but so is everyone else. Asia is special and force to be reckoned with. I would have froze to if I was Kenzie.
Kate Bukta this is just my opinion but dancers need to be ready for criticism. I honestly think Aisa is Better, Her dancing has a lot of sass, and is more interesting for me to watch, again this is my opinion.
I personally think that Kenz is a better dancer than Asia in ways. She has progressed in LA with her routines being more lyrical, and I like that she doesn’t do cutesy acro dances anymore. I think the only reason that she didn’t dance is because her own mother wasn’t encouraging her. We all know that Melissa favors Maddie over Kenz, and I think that’s ridiculous, because Kenz is so awesome! I also definitely know that being at the ALDC has given Kenz stress problems, and that’s also maybe why she doesn’t want to improv. Asia is better than Jojo, dance wise, not by much, but sass wise, they both are at the same level. Asia is about as good as Kendall, at the point when she started regressing. Don’t come after me, my opinion :)

Mackenzie was intimidated by Asia so she didn’t know what to do. Melissa needs to actually be a good parent.
I love the way Asia gets into her own head and doesn't stop dancing no matter what's going on with Mackenzie, Abby and Melissa. And I'm not merely talking about the fact that she didn't stop dancing; I'm talking about the fact that she didn't even look their way while she was dancing. She was solely focused on what she needed to do. She's such a professional child. As for Mackenzie, she only made it worse for herself. I understand she was intimidated; but when Melissa told her to sit down, she should've sat down. Instead, she insisted she wanted to dance...yet, didn't dance. Melissa was unnecessarily frustrated and embarrassed, but I don't think the way she pulled Mackenzie's arm could be classified as child abuse.

Wonder Woman the dance industry is worse than this which is what they point out at the end. If you baby the kids in training, they will choke in auditions and working in shows when the professionals are like this. You don’t dance or can’t deal with how they teach, you get cut. Little gymnast girl yeah my mom did that too. I mean it wasnt as hard as Melissa's was but at the age I was like 5 6 or maybe 7 it felt like I was being dragged to a torture chamber. lol

Some mom's do that I saw a mom do that to her kid when her kid kept running around the store and my mom did that when I was little when I would run around in the store or doing something that can lead me to tripping or falling or getting hurt
