Was I the only one who was happy with the ending? I mean, from Season 1, all I ever wanted is to see Ted and Robin end up together and in the end it just somehow cheered me up. For me, personally, this was the best ending. Ted wanted to have kids, Robin didnt and somehow both got what the truly wanted in life.
I liked the ending too, but it was too fast and poor made. If there was just one more episode telling how Ted ended with up with Robin and his friends, after the story told to the kids it would ended in a awesome way
If you’re looking for the word that means caring about someone beyond all rationality and wanting them to have everything they want no matter how much it destroys you, it’s love. And when you love someone you just, you don’t stop, ever
It was always robin. I can't believe people were surprised with the ending. Robin has always loved ted. She chose barney bc it was the easy way out. She knew she couldn't give ted what he wanted, a family. Ted wanted everything while barney wanted nothing and Robin knew she can't give ted anything. Little did she know she's everything ted ever wanted... until he met the mother.
Robin is infinitely prettier than anyone on the show but Tracy has a cute charm that’s wife material and I think that’s more important in the long run.
@@anapaularezende4670 I think Ted awakened something in her. I now see why she kept repeating, "You stole a blue French horn for me", something she never did for Barney.
I think robin loves Barney more but she know that he is not a good choice for marriage and long relation ( that why she was so calm when she and barney divorced) but ted was the perfect choice for marriage and all serious things .
I liked the ending.... The only thing wrong with it was the execution... They should have shown the life after divorce for atleast half a season and shown how Robin realised that it's always been Ted
You can see subtle clues of that in the scene where Ted talks to Robin and Barney about his wedding plans and also where Tracy tells Ted she's pregnant. In bad crazy, all of the flash forwards are after Robin and Barney's divorce and only one is before Tracy's death. Robin practically became the mother after Tracy's death
Unfortunately, it seems the rating for Season 9 was start decline and according some rumor, Jason Sege(Marshall)l was start to think quit from HIMYM in S8 and he finally agree to only sign up for one season only. Literally the season 9 was only recap for me.
I agree. They should've made half of the season about the wedding and the other half about what happened after the wedding leading up to the finale. It would've made more sense. I think it was very odd to make the whole season save for the finale about the wedding.
Ted wasn’t Robin’s type from the start. I have the same experience and I can tell you that if a woman tells you you’re a catch and helps you find a girl, it means she doesn’t see you as a partner she fancies.
@@hastensavoir7782 Jajajjaja sorry. I was saying that they finished their relationship cause Lily's fault. They were a good couple together, but they had differents dreams, that's the problem.
Ana M yeah, forgive me as that was my impression. They had something after all (my bad) but as expected it just wouldn’t be. Tracy is actually Adorable.
I'm crying now Was crying last night when I finished the series Was crying several years back when I first finished the series And the tears and emotions that I have for this had been much worse than any break up I've had They truly made this such a special and amazing series
gaia - because I was surprised that there was a video having a comment section of people that actually liked that ending it was so bad they just threw everything away from all those years Barney was the most important character to me and only thing he got was a kid
@@jka76d74 He also got to be the father he never had. Throughout the entire show he had a fear of abandonment. All those one nights stands were because Barney was in control and he could leave them before they left him. All of his character development was leading up to his daughter not Robin. In the end he finally got the girl who would never abandon him.
Honestly, I understand the end of himym! This title and all the suspense of the story, makes us believe that the real goal of the series is to know the mother, from there we arrived at the end of 9 seasons, and we realized that the purpose of the whole series, since always, was for Ted to tell his children that he is ready to move on. I don't ignore the fact that Barney and Robin were a beautiful couple, but unlike many people, i like the end of this series because it is unexpected
The only purpose if anything of Robin and Barney was getting into each others pants. Beyond that and maybe having good fun with one another, they were miserable with each other never trusted one another and were fighting all the time. Robin and Ted were at their happiest around each other, brought out the best amongst them and most of all had a relationship built on a strong friendship and trust for one another. Because Ted tells the story about the time before his children were there or were conscious of their surroundings, even before Robin got to the altar she started pining for Ted, a situation that lasted for something like 17 years vs. Ted's 8 and her marriage to Barney was only held together by any residual feelings which soon got over. If anybody noticed, Robin accomplishes her dream of travelling the world when Ted was serious with another woman or after she broke up with him.
@@alokotta5466 Completely agree. I mean, if she truly loved Barney, she would never have dreamt of running away from her own wedding with Ted. This was staring me in the face, yet I fell in with the Barney and Robin hype, because I loved the idea of the playboy getting 'tamed'. But that is just an idea. In real life, playboys make horrible boyfriends and even worse husbands. Ted had his faults, but he truly loved Robin, and she truly loved him back. I think Robin's trying to derail Ted's marriage to Stella is glaring proof of that.
Understand. That's the word. The ending of HIMYM is meant to be understood. It's tragic and surprising, so maybe it's not supposed to be enjoyed, or expected, and most people don't appreciate it and the writers definitely knew they were setting themselves up for that backlash and controversy, but this ending simply needs to be understood. The characters need to be understood, their feelings need to be understood, their circumstances need to be understood, the 6 years since Tracy died need to be understood, Luke and Penny having seen their father's feelings reignite needs to be understood.
I know almost everyone hated the ending, but i didn't. I love tracy and i love the fact that ted finally gets what he has always wanted. Ted was happier than ever when he was with her, because she is his soulmate. But she isn't the love of his life, Robin is, and we know that since season 1. That's why i have mixed feelings about this ending, because it breaks my heart that ted loses tracy but i'm also really happy for him. Ted and Robin were ment to end up toghether, but that doesn't mean he couldn't be happy with someone else along the road.
Yes, I believe that your soulmate isn’t necessarily your life partner. With tracy, Ted was complete. And when Tracy was gone, it was good that it was Robin who completed him again.
One change I would have made: Robin turns up at Ted's house with the French horn. Kids tell Ted to ask her out, Ted brushes it off. Ted mentions it in a catch up over lunch, giving Robin the idea. That night she turns up to his house with the blue French horn. It makes her look more like the woman who gets what she wants, and less like a passive participant. Her not doing it earlier explained by her respect for the mother, but knowing that she has the kids' blessing, she pursues who she wants.
Andy B yo that’s true because that would change ppls thinking that Ted is just coming back to a failing relationship with robin again, it would be robin coming to him
If you look at the show closely she pursued him more than he pursued her, only to be rejected by him. Ted rejected her 6 times, she rejected him 4 times. The Kids didnt know the past between Robin and Ted and Robin asking Ted out in 2030 wouldn't be appropriate because according to her Ted is still a grieving widower.
Step 1. Meet Robin at the bar... Or let Barney do that “have you met Ted” thing; Step 2. Steal the blue french horn from the restaurant where you took her out; Step 3. If you are an idiot who said Robin you love her, try to win her by partying, and then kiss her on the roof; Step 4. Wait before she comes to go camping and then make it rain. That will definitely make her in love with you; Step 5. Wow, that worked? Step 6. Ok, you broke up. Think about it. And always be there for her while thinking; Step 7. If you thought well, tell her about your feelings; Step 8. Ok, she said no. What a legen... Wait for it... Step 9. While you were waiting for it, Barney proposed to Robin. Keep waiting for it... Step 10. Nevermind. You found love of your life. You can stop waiting for it. Just enjoy living with her. Step 11. Meanwhile, Barney and Robin got divorced. Don’t start waiting again. Step 12. Love of your life is dead. Sorry, man. I guess, now you may start waiting again. Step 13. Tell your kids a story about how you met their mother. And if they won’t buy, you got their permission Step 14. Repeat step 2. Step 15. Run to her apartment with stolen blue french horn. Step 16. Hope she’ll say yes
She did know what she want. And Ted wasn't that, he was the guy chasing her, the loved her not the guy she loved. She wasn't a settler, until the end of the show at least.
@@Mani26031981 but is it? He literally asked her after so many years if she loves him and she said no. Would you do that if this was the person you belong with? For the whole show Ted is the chaser and Robin isn't challenged. We love those who we admire, not our friends. They have some chemistry that got them together after 20 years. And that was comforting but it wasnt romance. And also Ted's a jerk.
She was broken, the idea of having someone who does everything for her was scary and unreal. Plus, she was honest when said that wanted different things and not get married. The love was there it was just not the right time. I love the end, true love always win!!
@@shiroitachi2494 No. If it was anyone who did the rejecting it was Ted who rejected her at least 6 times while Robin only rejected him 4 times. Robin and Barney rejected each other once each. Robin marrying Barney was just a conclusion of their first stint together, their relationship magnified the problems they had in their first stint together leading to them divorcing. Barney found who he loved ( his daughter) and Robin came to terms with her feelings for Ted, feelings for whom she expressed throughout those 25 years instead of the 8 with Barney. Ted was the one who moved on with Tracy before coming back to her 17 years later. Robin felt the same way Ted felt about her and Barney twice (Stella and Victoria). If anyone got a second it was Robin, her being close to Ted's children was just a way for her to be close to Ted.
@@shiroitachi2494 she was. But in the end, she matured and learned to wait even if there's no assurance that he would ever love her back in return again. There's one deleted scene where ted and robin was in a coffee shop (or maybe a restaurant) and she told him she still loves him. Ted rejected her because he said he's already happy with his life, with tracy and their kids. And then she replied that she's very happy for ted. Right then and there, robin was redeemed in my eyes. It sucked that they cut that scene out. Would've made the ending better IMO.
Their love story is so real. Robin was the opposite of Ted, or so we thought. Robin grew up in a dysfunctional family. After years of emotional hardship, she has built this tough girl persona that doesn't value love. She was cold and emotionally distant as a result. So at that time, she could not realize that she love Ted. If we pay close attention, we would see she always had a soft side for Ted throughout the series. But no matter how much Ted loves her, they would not work out at that time, because she had to learn to value love before she could properly value Ted. That's an important lesson for her, to learn to love. Sometimes life had to teach her the hard way ( by letting her marry and divorce the wrong one) in order for her to understand. In the end we could see how much she changed. She was no longer this "tough" and "cool" girl, she became more loving and tender. She became more like Ted. People are mad at Tracy dying, but that's the meaning of the whole HIMYM series: To let go of the past. Without this event, the message will not be made clear. To be happy in life you must learn to accept the past. Just like how Tracy had to accept Max's death. Marshall had to accept his dad's death. etc.
Barney wasn't exactly the wrong one. She was in love with him then and would regret losing him if she didn't marry him. I guess she stopped being in love with Barney but continued loving Ted. It's hard when your heart is split at two to be honest. Barney and her matched because they were both messed up and they had a strong connection for as much as it lasted. At least she married Barney while she was freaking out with the idea of marriage when she was with Ted. That is a big development.
So many people couldn't understand the show and characters. That's why they hated ending. They didn't pay much attention. I only hated that how they wasted a whole season on wedding and thn ended everything in just one episode. Otherwise this show is a masterpiece.
I have chewed over this issue for a while (bad habit of mine), and I can now see why Ted and Robin ended up together. I think the biggest piece of evidence in this montage is Robin refusing to tell Ted that she was infertile. Beforehand, she made it clear that she didn't want children at that time or in the near future. Gradually, her views became more nuanced, as is the case for millions. She considered the idea, and wondered whether she could ever change her mind (as she said to Ted when trying to warn him against marrying Stella). And then, just after she hid a baby's sock in her handbag, she discovered that she had no chance of having children. All those thoughts came to nothing. And with that, any hope of restoring her relationship with Ted, who was set on having a family. She didn't tell him, because she could not look him in the eye and see, perhaps, that he would give up on her. This is a crushingly sad episode, and I would like to watch it again. I find it strange how people dislike the complexity of Robin's view on marriage and children, even though it reflects reality. As someone with a serious menstrual illness that can threaten future fertility, I can relate to Robin-- which is something I thought I would never say, since we are very different people.
She told Ted about her infertility after she broke with Kevin. She told him that this was the reason they broke up and Ted still wanted to be with her. When he asked her if she loved him she said no. Maybe because she didn't want to destroy his dream of becoming a father or just maybe because was in love with Barney at that time. Ted at some point realised that the reason him and Robin never got back together was that she was in love with Barney. Maybe she loved Ted but was in love with Barney and always being in love comes first and loving someone second.
@@ΜαρίαΣτρατάκη-γ4λ I accept your correction on her telling Ted about her infertility, but I disagree with you on why she said no to Ted. He had put her under enormous pressure by asking that question, and she spoke as someone who couldn't give him what he wanted. Yes, she was in love with Barney at the time. No doubt about that. But that didn't mean that Ted wasn't her true love or that she wasn't in love with him. I think later, she asked why Ted wasn't marrying her, and when she saw Ted kiss Tracy, her response was to ditch their friendship group. There's also the issue of her stepping in as a surrogate mother for Ted's children, despite her never having any herself. The only family she did this for was Ted's. But you are most welcome to have a different point of view. :)
@@Musicienne-DAB1995 I haven't seen the 9th season yet to be honest. I can't Livestream the episodes or find them on UA-cam but so far I have watched it, she was in love with Barney at the time. She even cheated on Kevin with him. I get what you say, about her infertility. But if she said to him ag the time, she would give him the green light and create more pain for both of them. You see she was still crazy for Barney no matter if Ted was her real love. She even got engaged with Barney while with Ted back then she freaked out in the idea of even proposing to her. I don' t know how I will feel at the end of the series knowing that Ted and her end up together. I didn't know that she left the group after she saw Ted and Tracy kissing. I guess
They were meant to be together from the beginning. The ending couldn't have been better. They always had this strong connection which couldn't be broken off.
Some fans really need understand this, one of the relationship concept in marriage is try to understanding each other, and apparently, Robin or Barney didn't have this, it's like there some part they can't figure out while Robin totally understand Ted and vice versa. Ted never or can't lie to Robin and when Robin wants help from Ted even Robin never tell Ted with obvious, Ted is always there to give her support.
Ahhh just when i finished the series for the second time and fell in love all over again with the finale ❤ seriously , ted & robin relationship restored my faith in love .
Well, Robin and Barney are insecure and broken people. That’s why their marriage ended and why Ted is so attractive to both of them. Ted isn’t just incredibly romantic, he’s also a guy whom people can trust and love because he’s literally an old-fashion good guy and never turn ur back on. He can cure Robin. And for Barney, Nora’s the right person. She’s a woman of integrity. If Barney chose her, there’s no doubt that he would be taken good care of by her. They could have made a cute couple~
I really love how the video was created. It is really obvious how Ted is madly inlove with robin. I've binge watch this during Lockdown and i got hooked on the story. And really since first episode 1 i'm rooting for ted and robin. How it portrays the true essence of love, you do not need a grand gesture. All you need is mature adolescene who will be there thru happy and sad times. Who will be there to cheer you up and will stay no matter what. The good thing about this series is sometimes you have just to wait for the right time to happen ☺️☺️ Who's with me? Click like then hehehe Keep Safe
Well, Tracy was "the one" for ted, Ted was "the one" for robin and robin was "the one" for barney! Barney and robin rocked just as great as ted and robin !
I decided to watch himym when Iw as really bored one day. I instantly started rooting for Ted and Robin and stopped watching when Ted said “your aunt Robin”. Only continued a few months later when I read a buzzfeed post about TV show endings people are still angry about and learned that they did end up together. Love them and their relationship.
Binged the whole show at once, but I knew the ending beforehand and thought I would be angry at it but this was always gonna be the outcome. The locket scene, the scene where Barney is writing the Robin play juxtaposed with Ted taking the laid back approach just cemented that Barney just took action first and it could have been either one of them. This whole relationship was and never could be platonic.
It’s interesting how they did end up being each other’s “back-up”. Ted thought she had him as a back-up, but she ended up being his, so to speak. Very nice how it unfolded, because their love is a true love based on wanting the other to be truly happy and respecting each other.
Why fans still think Tracy is Ted’s soulmate? Ted only loves the IDEA of Tracy. He did loved her but he always loved Robin as well. The reason why Tracy died in the original ending is because Ted and Robin are always meant to be together.
I can see why people were upset since after all that drama leading Ted to Tracy in the final season and her turning out to be exactly what he wanted, the ending might seem like cheating. Tracy dies, Ted tries to reconnect with Robin, the whole point of the title seems lost. But Ted the narrator makes it very clear that Robin was always the one he would always be hung up on. Time and again on the show, Ted tries and fails to let Robin go. And the best example of this is how Marshall refuses to pay Lily the bet money all those years until Ted's wedding. I have always loved the Barney and Robin pairing but this is Ted's story after all and it seemed like a fitting conclusion to have him reunite with the greatest love of his life (notice I said greatest love and not greatest relationship, for that title would always belong to Tracy). I also like to think that when Tracy passed she also reunited with the greatest love of her life- Max.
Ted did let Robin go, look at the timeline before he went back to her. Yeah, it's sad that Tracy died, but that's exactly how inexplicable some of the things we go through in life are. We may all have our feelings and preferences based on characters who best resonate with us but, all through the show and right from the beginning actually, it was clear he was pointing to Robin. Now this doesn't take away anything from Tracy, or even Victoria, as a lot of people feel hard done by the ending. They could have done more justice to Tracy maybe, but the story was not really about her anyway so I see why they went in that direction for creative reasons as well.
from Robin’s perspective, it only seemed natural that she would go for Barney who is pretty much like her. But just because you have so much alike doesn’t mean that it’s going to be great and you’ll always agree. It doesn’t always work out despite having so much in common.
Barney was the after effects of her breakup with Ted, because she had to amp up her tough side following her break up with Ted. That led them having a strong attraction to one another. It took her 8 years to get over Barney. By the time she was over with Barney she had come to terms with her feelings for Ted. Realised she still wasn't ready to be with him, so she went away from the group had her big break before being ready to settle with Ted and his kids
This is mirrored in Ted's relationship with Tracy. They were perfect for each other, her likeability was established on the premise that she was so similar to Ted. But just because someone is perfect for you doesn't mean they're right for you. That's that love that defies all logic Ted was talking about. Even after losing the mother of his children who gave him everything he could ever want, having that hole in his life made him want to fill it again, and there was only one other possible option.
@@alokotta5466 Oh she got over Barney real quick, at least not as long as 8 years. Her reason for staying away from the group wasn't down to just Barney, but all of them as their lives took off in different directions and she had nothing in common with them anymore. Since the story is told from Ted's POV, we know they were in touch, and we also have a clue that she didn't keep in touch much with the others because Lily once remarked at some point that they never got to see Robin anymore.
@Ebitu Ukiwe true but all of them except Robin kept in touch till 2020 when Robin rejoined the fold. Not meeting frequently is one thing not keeping in touch is another. Had she stayed in touch it would have meant she was OK with Ted and Tracy but she wasn't. She also moved to Japan primarily because of Ted and Stella
I was one of the few who really loved the ending. I was rooting for them since Season 1. I love Tracy and Barney; they were both essential to Ted and Robin’s growth and contributed immensely in finding their way to each other. I’m so glad they ended up together. ❤️ #tedandrobinforever
I always hated that no matter who Ted dated and no matter what happened in his life he'd always be like "but I want Robin" like she isn't that great honestly
When I started season 9 I was getting mad at the ending cuz I thought that Robin will and up with Barney even though on the last season we still had so many moments of Ted and Robin. That got me confused. I thought "How am I supposed to ship Ted with anyone else when he still has so many cute moments with Robin?" I really think Tracy was amazing but I knew that I won't like her so much as Robin cuz Robin have been there for 9 seasons and I felt so much more emotional attached to her. I love the end and how I didn't expected it at all cuz I have already lost my hope for Ted's and Robin's happy ending
Right??? I refused to watch the last season, it made no sense to me after everything that happened right before the wedding. I remember I was venting to a friend, like bla bla bla and then she was like you should watch to the ending. I kid you not, I cried lol. It just made sense. Yes the mother was lovely, and Ted truly loved her. It is really sad to have lost her so soon. But life can be a bitch like that sometimes. If it was not for the Mother, Ted and Robin were meant to be together. Ted knew since he met her. Robin was just scared.
Honestly, Ted being with Robin again is fine. He was finally happy with the mother of his kids for a good number of years and she made him into a better more optimistic person than how he was in later seasons. Tracy got along super well with Robin too which is a plus. It’s my head cannon that Tracy gave Ted his blessing to go after her after she passed away. Though Ted was still conscious of his kids feelings. And Robin did a lot of maturing too; seeing Ted with the blue French horn again she never hesitated to get back with him as he was the one that she truly wanted and now embraces that. THAT SAID, the execution to the finale was god awful for the most part. All that buildup to the wedding and they get divorced the following episode?! Barney regressing back to his playboy tendencies after the divorce?! Robin choosing her career over her husband?!?! All the character development tossed out the window… If the writers didn’t want them together anymore, allude to the breakup or have the divorce occur mid season. The one truly great thing about S9 was Barney settling down his daughter, that was beautiful. TLDR; Robin and Ted is good, how it got to that point was god awful.
Waste of a time with Season 9 on the Wedding. But it was meant to be a distraction. Tracy should’ve been introduced in season 7 to allow for proper development and her death would have a bigger impact on the viewers. Also, I just didn’t imagine Ted being able to raise two kids on his own after Tracy died. Ted and Robin rebound should’ve been with Robin helping Ted raising his kids only for Ted to confess his love to her 6 years after Tracy’s death.
I very much agree with your comment. They should have set up the ending better; remove absurd plots (like the picture of Zabcka trying to overshadow Ted) I also didn't like Marshall's ride in the jeep. They would have removed several plots and take advantage of that time to show some of Ted and Barney's married life to better understand the final decision to separate definitively with Robin.
Just finished the series and I’m glad Ted got with Robin but I do feel bad for the Mother and I do think the last Episode could’ve been Portrayed better maybe a little longer to give the mother an emotional death and Us to see that the love between Robin and Ted is there instead and they found it from each other instead of the kids telling us that he loves her.
His son says "whenever she comes over to dinner you guys are so obvious" There's the deleted lunch scene between Robin and Ted She was estranged from the group on seeing Ted and Tracy kiss It took Tracy's work to bring her into the group Robin's entire reaction to Ted and Tracy planning their wedding, having penny where Barney is excited but Robin isn't. Robin also looks relieved when she goes to get drinks and her look when she sees Ted and Tracy really happy about expecting
I literally can't see robin and barney together in front of my eyes. I'm watching the show and although I know they break up at some point, I'm preparing myself to watch this entire part of the story where they're together, bc i literally can't face this. Ted and Robin are perfect for each other, they should have stayed together since the beginning and Robin should have knew Ted was her soulmate, so she wouldn't have make the MISTAKE to be with Barney. No offenses to him cus I love Barney, but they will NEVER be a better couple than Ted n Robin.
Ok I love cobie, and she's just got an amazing personality, but can we also talk about how freaking stunning she looks???? She is one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen.
Yes, Robin and Ted were actually destined to be together, but she did hurt Ted numerous times. When she was down, Ted put that huge light show on Christmas just to cheer her up. And after all that, she rejected Ted and married his friend, Barney. It was really tough to watch. Barney did some big things for her maybe, but Ted's intention was just pure love for Robin, not to show off.
The irony is tht "The Robin" is what barney called his final play to propose to Robin but Ted used his own version of "The Robin" all the way from season one🤩❤️
I don’t feel like Robin deserved Ted. The point of the show (I felt) was for Ted to find someone who would make him forget about her. Then, it was like they were having the mother say “I feel ill. Let me just end my life 20 years early, so you can go running off to the woman I was supposed to make you forget about!”
I think what many people are missing is that, if it weren't for Lily's manipulation, Robin & Ted's first relationship maybe would've worked. Throughout the rest of the series, the issue was timing. Robin was thinking about being with Ted when he had someone else and the other way around. I am happy with the ending, though it's execution wasn't good. Two or three episodes less that where focused on Robin & Barney's wedding and instead two or or three more that focused on Ted dealing with Tracy's death and Robin's patch would've been a bit smoother.
It was always Robin. She wasn't ready to be with Ted so Ted tried to move on, but he always kept her in his heart, a very special person. That didn't happen with Stella, Zoe, Victoria and probably not Tracy as well. Those girls are all a match for Ted, maybe even soulmate, but they're all not "the one".
Life should not be that complicated. You married one but you always loved another is cheating on ur partner.... I am afraid how many young people is obsessed with the idea of love of this series. It's the most wonderful thing to make your soulmate your life partner. If you cant connect ur soul to a person , dont marry him/her.
So many people in comments like this ending. Well, I too have no problem with this except the fact that Tracy's character just feels to have been used. I mean use her to have kids while all along u loved Robin. I wonder if Ted would have ever chosen Tracy over Robin because he rejected Victoria for that. My girly ass would always want a guy to prioritise his wife over friends, especially over that one girl-friend.
I hated that part. But what do not take into account is that the show spans 25 years. The first 8 years of which are shown in detail. In those 8 years, we see the first 5 years of their 8 year relationship. If the show made a mistake it wasn't going into the events between 2013-30. If there was anything Robin had more feelings for Ted than he had for her. The only difference is that Robin's feelings were spread throughout while Ted's feelings were concentrated in specific time periods (the beggining and the period between the breakup with Kevin and her wedding day). If you see the deleted scene where they meet at the restaurant he actually feels uncomfortable when she expresses her feelings for him. Her marriage to Barney in a way was just a conclusion of their first stint that ended abruptly. She was expressing feelings for Ted in the weeks preceding her wedding, on her wedding and those feelings would only get stronger for him over time while he was with Tracy, and after she died. Marrying Barney made her realise he was the one, making her lay in wait for him.
@@Musicienne-DAB1995 Heres something people probably never thought about, Robin had the talk of having children with three men: Barney: pregnancy scare and didnt want to have a baby. Decided against adoption with him Straight up told Barney's mom that she isn't having grandchildren Kevin: dumped her after she told him of her unwillingness and inability to have children Ted: Even before she told Ted she loved him, she asked Ted's mom why she didnt want her( Robin) to have her grandkids Told him "Babies were never part of my plan, but if I were to have somebody's babies, I'd have your babies", when they broke up. When he almost married Stella she told him " I thought if I ever changed my mind about marriage or kids it was nice to know you were there" When Kevin dumped her, and Ted told him he was willing to give up his dream of having kids something for her, she knew it would always be a black spot in his life and therefore pushed him away. Jealous about Tracy Tracy carrying Ted's child. She took a break from the group because she could bear to see Ted happy with a pregnant Tracy (who by that point I guess was somebody she saw as a rival), making her feel inadequate causing her to take a break from the group. She also knew even if she was with Ted she still couldn't have children either emotionally or physically. When she ran into Ted and Penny she took an immediate liking to Penny, as Luke wasn't there at the time and grew to really love the two of them despite the fact she never bore them or she hadn't adopted them with Ted. As inferred, she became their motherly figure following Tracy's death Therefore in reality she wanted to have kids under 2 conditions: 1. The father was Ted 2. She was able to be fully settled. Unlike the way she was always traveling when married to Barney, and I'm guessing that Ted being with Tracy was a contributing factor to it, as she knew the closeness they had before them getting together just wasn't possible and also add to the fact that Robin and Barney were miserable together most of the time. Robin travelling always coincided when she feared the loss or had lost Ted as a partner. If there is something that can be said is that the "Mother" in the title refers to both Tracy and Robin.
Saw the ending and I teared up(and it was the first time "tear of Joy") This is how the show supposes to end, Ted got his kids and Robin got her career. Both got what they wanted and now it's the right time to be together. The only bad thing about this show is that the entire season 9 is about giving up someone for the greater good(ted and robin), and the Greater good ends within 10 min(divorce). If they change it up a little bit, like extra episodes of Robin and Barney`s marriage life to further explain they don't fit each other and Robin figure out her true love is Ted. btw the season 10(or part 2 or whatever they call it) is coming out expecting in mid 2022
See people think that Robin being with Ted “Ruined” Barney’s character development but I’d disagree I think the fact they got divorced shows the biggest growth for Barney in the whole series Barney had never cared about marriage or any of that stuff until Robin but Robin always puts her career first and the one time she tried not to she lost the guy and he took what she could’ve had and Barney wasn’t for the first time in his life going to just settle he wanted more she made him into the person who wanted more from a relationship she wanted to travel and increase her career but he wanted her around more but she wouldn’t do that so they had to divorce because Barney wanted something more wanted a woman that he could spend his time with that’s what I call character development Robin she had gotten what she wanted out of life and so did Ted so what did they do they came back to the people that they’ve always loved they just had to wait until the time was right Ted even said All he wants is Robin and In the end he got the thing he wanted most he loved Tracy but she was his destiny but Robin was who he was meant to be with
As much as I like Tracy, it was really obvious that Ted and Robin would ultimately end up together. Since season 1 you can tell that she was special to him and that never changed throughout the show. The lengths he went through to make her happy or to make her like him clearly showed he was always going to be in love with Robin.
I love everyone in this comment cause everyone loves the ending😭❤️there's no ending haters here instead there's people who understand Ted's story and enjoy the ending u know and I've always thought and said it The ending was perfect cause Ted and Robin got what they wanted in life and then ended up together.. he was a man who found his soulmate but ended with his love🤩
Robin had to amp up her tough side to deal with her breakup to Ted. Hence began her strong attraction to Barney that lasted 8 years. Think about it: ted refusing to run off with her was the equivalent of him turning down her marriage proposal. Marrying Barney made her feelings for Ted stronger and much deeper, so much so she waited 14 years to resume their relationship and also the driving force for her to achieve her dream in her journalistic career as Robin being away mostly coincided with Ted being Tracy or Stella or after their breakup

Poisonous Job original comment. of course it’s a figurative language.
@@hastensavoir7782 Good point.
Yeah, barney was right for the moment she was living but definitely not for good. Only Ted knows her deeply.
Yeah, good point.
I agree! Netflix can you pick this up even a limited series just to truly complete Ted and Robin story.
I cried when I watched the final episode, always was Ted and Robin :')
Ted wasn’t Robin’s type from the start. I have the same experience and I can tell you that if a woman tells you you’re a catch and helps you find a girl, it means she doesn’t see you as a partner she fancies.

Jka76 d ehmm then why are you watching this video?
gaia - because I was surprised that there was a video having a comment section of people that actually liked that ending it was so bad they just threw everything away from all those years Barney was the most important character to me and only thing he got was a kid
True words
Yes, I believe that your soulmate isn’t necessarily your life partner. With tracy, Ted was complete. And when Tracy was gone, it was good that it was Robin who completed him again.
Exactly
yessss, thats what I think too!
You put it perfectly
One change I would have made: Robin turns up at Ted's house with the French horn.
Kids tell Ted to ask her out, Ted brushes it off. Ted mentions it in a catch up over lunch, giving Robin the idea. That night she turns up to his house with the blue French horn.
It makes her look more like the woman who gets what she wants, and less like a passive participant.
Her not doing it earlier explained by her respect for the mother, but knowing that she has the kids' blessing, she pursues who she wants.
Andy B yo that’s true because that would change ppls thinking that Ted is just coming back to a failing relationship with robin again, it would be robin coming to him
yes...yes yes ye syes
This is the best ending I've heard!
Yeah, a nice possibility too!
Step 1. Meet Robin at the bar... Or let Barney do that “have you met Ted” thing;
Step 2. Steal the blue french horn from the restaurant where you took her out;
Step 3. If you are an idiot who said Robin you love her, try to win her by partying, and then kiss her on the roof;
Step 4. Wait before she comes to go camping and then make it rain. That will definitely make her in love with you;
Step 5. Wow, that worked?
Step 6. Ok, you broke up. Think about it. And always be there for her while thinking;
Step 7. If you thought well, tell her about your feelings;
Step 8.
And if they won’t buy, you got their permission
Step 14. Repeat step 2.
Step 15. Run to her apartment with stolen blue french horn.
Step 16. Hope she’ll say yes
One of the many reasons why this is beautiful is because The Robin is originally 16 steps :d its pretty cool
This is the most perfect analysis ever.

Or maybe she was living in denial all along. 💗
She did know what she want. And Ted wasn't that, he was the guy chasing her, the loved her not the guy she loved. She wasn't a settler, until the end of the show at least.
@@marialnl WRONG. She DID love Ted but never considered herself right for him.
I have my vow to keep repeating this for every year. This is what I defined "this is all I need".
She was broken, the idea of having someone who does everything for her was scary and unreal.

HOW can people say these two are not made for each other
Robin is a horrible selfish person
@@shiroitachi2494 Ted is worse
because... Tracy.
This is so beautiful. It always cheers me up seeing them both together. Ted is such an inspiration ❤️
"I would have stolen you a whole orchestra"
This line always had me in tears- and I never cry
He's got the sweetest smile ever..so nice!
And I love his voice.
I agreeeee
I would like to point out Ted was the only person she even thought of having kids with. When Tracy died she took it on herself to become their mom
Robin is after Sheldon cooper one one of the most misunderstood characters of the television
Exactly. Ted NEVER let Robin down. Thanks for the reminder.
It's been 4 years since I finished the show, and damn... It still makes me cry!
We are in 2020, I'm crying because of this vid and I think I'm gonna rewatch this show for the 5th time
Whenever i loose faith in destiny I always come back and watch this serie ugh it makes my heart melt and tears fall down
I finally see the hole show , and the ending is perfect, they are mean to be
I can see why people were upset since after all that drama leading Ted to Tracy in the final season and her turning out to be exactly what he wanted, the ending might seem like cheating.

Marshall won. They ended up together...
Yess!!
Lily you better pay up
I fricking LOVE Marshall Eriksen!
Yesss
well, it's obvious that Barney never makes Robin feel like the way Ted does
Glaringly obvious.
Then why did she chose him 😐 I hate her
Barney and Robin always felt forced to me. This was the only relationship that felt natural.
I was one of the few who really loved the ending. I was rooting for them since Season 1. I love Tracy and Barney; they were both essential to Ted and Robin’s growth and contributed immensely in finding their way to each other. I’m so glad they ended up together. ❤️ #tedandrobinforever
I just love the person who made this.👍🏼❤️
I’m so glad they ended up together 🔥❤️❤️
Gosh where have this gone? I’m so desperate not finding it anywhere! Glad it’s back.
I always hated that no matter who Ted dated and no matter what happened in his life he'd always be like "but I want Robin" like she isn't that great honestly
Nikki, this was really well done! Thank you😊
When I started season 9 I was getting mad at the ending cuz I thought that Robin will and up with Barney even though on the last season we still had so many moments of Ted and Robin. That got me confused. I thought "How am I supposed to ship Ted with anyone else when he still has so many cute moments with Robin?"
I really think Tracy was amazing but I knew that I won't like her so much as Robin cuz Robin have been there for 9 seasons and I felt so much more emotional attached to her.
Robin was just scared.
exactly, I just wanted to end the last season as fast as I could and forget how it ends cuz no hope left in me wishing for happy ending
Thank You for uploading this ❤️
I've shipped these two since the beginning, even after Tracy
Tracy is lovely, but Robin was always the one for Ted.
Thank you for this video. As a Ted Fan 9 brutal seasons and amazing few episodes then a few sad mins and again happiness
Robin was looking for love and it was always right in front of her, she just never realise
Or maybe she did realise it, but was afraid of it.
His son says "whenever she comes over to dinner you guys are so obvious"
There's the deleted lunch scene between Robin and Ted
She was estranged from the group on seeing Ted and Tracy kiss
It took Tracy's work to bring her into the group
Robin's entire reaction to Ted and Tracy planning their wedding, having penny where Barney is excited but Robin isn't. Robin also looks relieved when she goes to get drinks and her look when she sees Ted and Tracy really happy about expecting
When she comes over to their place for the get together, Robin looks incredibly awkward
The chemistry and sexual tension between the leads really helped their story. They do look great together.
All of us hated the end of HIMYM, but this video perhaps makes us realise what the other perspective..
Not all of us hated the finale. 😉😎😍
@@Mani26031981 😉 ikr
I loved the finale 😐
I didn’t hate it, the ending was about reality
i never hated the ending but i think it was rushed
Yes, Robin and Ted were actually destined to be together, but she did hurt Ted numerous times. When she was down, Ted put that huge light show on Christmas just to cheer her up. And after all that, she rejected Ted and married his friend, Barney. It was really tough to watch. Barney did some big things for her maybe, but Ted's intention was just pure love for Robin, not to show off.
Himym is still my favourite show. This made me cry. I wanna rewatch it again.
The irony is tht "The Robin" is what barney called his final play to propose to Robin but Ted used his own version of "The Robin" all the way from season one🤩❤️
That is a great point!
YES! So true!
what is the actress name?
I love this video❤❤❤🙌🙌🙌 I hope it stays here forever
Wow this video is wonderful 🤩 I Love them so much😍😍😍 I'm crying😭😭😭
I love this so much! Such a beautiful tribute to a beautiful love story
Yes it's back, I am going to save it now.
the best couple eveeeer!

.the four couples who made me want to feel what love is .
What about howard and Bernadette or Sheldon and Amy?
Personally I like Leonard and Priya way more than leonard and penny
Jd and elliot from scrubs
Marshall and Lily!
Yes, they were together from the start. But them made ME wish to experience love.
I love this video! I will forever ship these two 😍 💙
I think that the writers shouldn’t have done the story between robin and barney if robin ended up with ted
Asia Giordano Did Ted and Robin get back together?
@@dayoafolayan2274 yes
@@alokotta5466 Very good analysis! Really makes you think.
@@Musicienne-DAB1995 Heres something people probably never thought about, Robin had the talk of having children with three men:
Barney: pregnancy scare and didnt want to have a baby. Decided against adoption with him
Straight up told Barney's mom that she isn't having grandchildren
Kevin: dumped her after she told him of her unwillingness and inability to have children
Ted:
Even before she told Ted she loved him, she asked Ted's mom why she didnt want her( Robin) to have her grandkids
Told him "Babies were never part of my plan, but if I were to have somebody's babies, I'd have your babies", when they broke up.
When he almost married Stella she told him " I thought if I ever changed my mind about marriage or kids it was nice to know you were there"
When Kevin dumped her, and Ted told him he was willing to give up his dream of having kids something for her, she knew it would always be a black spot in his life and therefore pushed him away.
As inferred, she became their motherly figure following Tracy's death
Therefore in reality she wanted to have kids under 2 conditions:
1. The father was Ted
Aww love this couple so much!!!
Colbie Smulders is an angel.
I'M GLAD THIS VIDEO IS BACK!!
It should have always been them...
Ted + Robin > Barney + Robin
Ted and Robin forever and ever. ❤
This made me cry
I love their love story
Saw the ending and I teared up(and it was the first time "tear of Joy")
This is how the show supposes to end, Ted got his kids and Robin got her career.
It was always the main storyline. Barney and Robin felt off always to me. They can be best pals but it has always been Ted and Robin,.
VICTORY. Sad that it won’t happen for another 10 years though
i love this
Lily is the villain of their story
See people think that Robin being with Ted “Ruined” Barney’s character development but I’d disagree I think the fact they got divorced shows the biggest growth for Barney in the whole series Barney had never cared about marriage or any of that stuff until Robin but Robin always puts her career first and the one time she tried not to she lost the guy and he took what she could’ve had and Barney wasn’t for the first time in his life going to just settle he wanted more she made him into the person who wanted more from a relationship she wanted to travel and increase her career but he wanted her around more but she wouldn’t do that so they had to divorce because Barney wanted something more wanted a woman that he could spend his time with that’s what I call character development Robin she had gotten what she wanted out of life and so did Ted so what did they do they came back to the people that they’ve always loved they just had to wait until the time was right Ted even said All he wants is Robin and In the end he got the thing he wanted most he loved Tracy but she was his destiny but Robin was who he was meant to be with
Thank you for eloquently representing Barney's true character and its development
I never understand why Robin chose Barney not Ted ?
Robin had to amp up her tough side to deal with her breakup to Ted. Hence began her strong attraction to Barney that lasted 8 years. Think about it: ted refusing to run off with her was the equivalent of him turning down her marriage proposal. Marrying Barney made her feelings for Ted stronger and much deeper, so much so she waited 14 years to resume their relationship and also the driving force for her to achieve her dream in her journalistic career as Robin being away mostly coincided with Ted being Tracy or Stella or after their breakup
Many viewers were against this
But truly loved the ending
Ted Robin ❤️
The main reason they didn't end up marrying only because of lily only. Yes... From the very beginning.
I disliked Lily because she sabotaged Ted and Robin's relationship in really key moments. It was quite annoying.
I loved Ted and Robyn TOGETHER.
