They had to take it apart because it started admitting radiation and was not safe.

The corrected date was sought after the "experts" by two doctors.

They knew from research the "experts" didn't do, that the area the sample was taken from was a methodical, almost perfect weave for repair done by the nuns who kept it after it eas involved in a fire.
The test the two doctors were allowed to make was allowed because it was supposedly a "debunking" had been done by experts.
The shroud was only brought out every 25 years for inspection, or to be photographed.

@@dannylinc6247 It has been carbon dated a few times, using different areas of the cloth, and every time it came back that the shroud is not old enough. Besides, to authenticate the shroud properly, it must first be proven that Jesus resurrected, and good luck with that.

As far as the Biblical items mentioned, as always people have missed the point for centuries. The grail was just a normal drinking cup that was on hand at the time, it was not special, the covenant that Jesus concluded with his disciples for the Kingdom of God was what was special, the cup was just a cup. As far as the Ark goes, again popular belief versus the reality of what the Ark really was is seriously different. It was used to contain important things relating to the Mosaic Law and Pure Worship, it was not to be used or treated with disrespect. Among the Laws handed down to Moses was the command not to worship objects or use objects in True worship, this was called idolatry and was forbidden by the True God along with Magical charms and anything resembling that sort of thing. The one time that the Israelites did carry it into battle, they broke the fore mentioned laws and treated the Ark like it was some kind of magical charm that would help them win the battle instead of relying on their God. When they did this they lost the protection of their God for blatant disregard of the Law and the Ark was captured by the enemy Philistines as a result. The Ark did not in itself contain power, but the True God did punish anyone who treated it improperly. The Philistines suffered while having it in their possession because they brought the Ark into the places of false worship as a challenge and an Insult to the God of the Hebrews and were promptly taught a lesson until they humbled themselves and showed respect by returning the Ark to the Israelites with a guilt offering of gold. So while it would be of significant historic value to find such objects, those objects would not impart any special power to the one who possesses them, the power has always been from the True God and not from the items.
