Lisa Fischer’s vocals (and legs) are legendary. She has been praised by all of the greats. Not only did she have a solo career, she also sang background for legends from Luther Vandross and Tina Turner to The Rolling Stones. In fact, some fans would come to The Rolling Stones’ concerts with signs for her. There’s a great award-winning documentary called Six Feet From Stardom if you care to learn more about her and other legendary background vocalists.
@@TheKittsPajamas I could see everything you typed somehow, like it’s a movie haha, she’s so fine, prettiest legs I’ve seen, wish I knew about her sooner.
Yeah. Rolling Stones, Sting, Bruce Springsteen, Tina Turner, Nine Inch Nails and a few others. I remember when this song came out. I was a Jr. in college when this song dropped in 1991 and it was an R&B radio mainstay. Especially during the Quiet Storm hours late at night.
Yes Queens, Lisa Fischer my favorite female vocalist! She sang backup for The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, Sting, Luther Vandross and many more. You should watch the Documentary "20 Feet from Stardom" It focuses on the backup singers, especially black backup singers, that gave that extra juice needed for the White Rock musicians to be successful. Many wanted to go solo but never quite achieved the success on their own. Lisa did go out on her own and won the Grammy for this song and tied with Patti Labelle. But Lisa never felt comfortable being out front and went back to being a background vocalist and dominated that space for years. Many years with the Rolling Stones until she retired from them and decided to form her own band, after the success of the Documentary, and go out on the road playing local intimate clubs.
This is so interesting to read, I like how very talented people sometimes like to be in the background,I wish I had gotten to know about her… thank you for taking your time to write this to me, I appreciate it 🤗
Lisa decided that she didn't want to pursue a solo career and remained a backup singer for Luther Van Dross! Had Lisa decided to pursue a continuous solo career, neither Mariah Carey or Whitney had the lungs to stay with her! She would have risen above them all! Lisa got her Grammy and after a few solo appearances she went back to backing up her boy Luther; Lisa was very loyal to him as he was to her!
@@Itee_React Lisa did continue!! She has toured with the Rolling Stones 4 example. She continues 2 perform 2day as a solo artist & she STILL sounds good!! U can probably find a few clips here on UA-cam.
