Nah not really. Its good as a workstation for light graphics and study. But I guess it has thunderbolt 3 so you could hook an external graphics card dock easily, but that would cost upwards of $500NZD+. Its a very durable and reliable laptop though. I will test out in some games, later on, stay tuned for that upcoming video in the future :). Have an awesome day! :D -YS
Hmmm, I'd probably say no not anymore in 2024 because of the dual core. Its fine if your doing basic excel, word, browsing the internet. The battery is easily swappable and its really easy to upgrade but that dual core is so annoying. I still have mine and use it a decent amount. I'd say look at the quad core laptops and if you can the T14 gen 2 or T495/s or even the T480 as a bare minimum. :)
Mine came with Windows 11 pre-installed and it was pretty responsive/smooth. I downgraded to Windows 10 as I didn't like Windows 11 as much. I found Windows 10 to be less responsive compared to Windows 11, i.e. it would take a few seconds longer to open up windows explorer and the boot time increased by about 5-8seconds. But overall Windows 10 is still a great experience and I don't think you have to use linux unless you prefer one of the linux distro's to windows. The T470 IMO is still a very capable machine especially considering you can add an extended battery and that you can use the thunderbolt 3 with an external graphics card. Have an awesome day! :D -YS
@@beezito I don't like win 11 too :D. In my country i am unable to get T480 with significantly better CPU so i want to be sure, the T470 would be good computer for Win 10 for at least next 2-3 years. I am no longer gamer, and i have 1050 ti computer at home, so GPU is no problem for me :D Its sound like a beast although its 5 years old computer. How many RAM do you have? And you have NVMe ssd?
Quick question what laptop would you recommend gaming for?

Is windows 10 smooth on it? Or its necessary to use linux?
