Also a few people mentioned the Fenrir line. While it is fragile, a huge benefit to adding Fenrir as a line is actually the fact that drawing both Fenrir + a different starter like Paidra doesn't hurt. You can bait out a interaction wtih Fenrir then normal the paidra. Fenrir being a built in board breaker is really nice.
Yeah fenrir is just a good card in general. My only issue is that it conflicts with Dominus Impulse, and personally I value Impulse over Fenrir. But that’s just my personal preference.
I think my biggest issue with Masked dragon is that you can’t just OTK through an open board. One of the biggest strengths of Tenpai is that when you Charmy/Shifter your opponent, they will be terrified of passing with NOTHING, because they know any one Tenpai card kills them if they have no cards on field. If you draw masked dragon and they passed with nothing, it’s the worst case for you. You can’t even kill through a completely blank board, that’s pretty sad. Masked Dragon removes that threat entirely so your opponent will be more confident in passing without giving you any draws.
Fenrir search Riseheart(dont SS, just normal) Use effect. Got to Mechaphantom beast, make tokens, Link Tokens to Cherubni, Dump Paidra, Link Cherub and beast for Princess, Princess effect SS Paidra, go Tenpai effects. Turns Fenrir into a 1 card starter.
I like the line, the competitor in me says: The only part that doesn't sit well with me in this one, the Normal of Rise heart, because a disruption here. Hand Trap Counters include: Imperm, Veiler, Ogre, Nibiru. Follow-Up Counter: Ash. Go 2nd: May have live disruption on the field (deck dependant) Current format main decks: : Imperm, Veiler, Ogre, Nibiru, Ash. Follow up: Hard open Kaimen, Summoning, A Gold Sarc, Kashtira Birth, Ideally open with a board breaker / TTT.
@@MSTTVI tested Fenrir as a starter and the biggest issue I ran into was confliction with Dominus Impulse. I know a lot of people are already cutting impulse because it’s not great vs Ryzeal, but to me that card is still too valuable to cut because it has massive coverage against tier 2/rogue. It’s quite good vs Maliss too, and similar to imperm it can function as a board breaker as well as a handtrap because you can hit anything that tries to summon on your turn, like Maliss traps, Plasma Hole/Plug-in effects to summon, lab traps, etc. I still think Fenrir is a perfectly viable starter, it’s not bad by any means. I just personally value Impulse over it.
Also, you can play 3 tempest alongside wind handtraps (droll, moonlith, fuwalos) and you will have a searcher for any of your tenpai monsters and this will not consume your normal summon
Third comment sorry, but I have been testing Rainbow Bridge of Salvation with 3 Foolish Burial Goods and a Crystal Beast monster. It feels really nice, drawing Sangan and a card you can use as discard fodder for the Sangan. My only gripe is having two garnets in your deck, which hurts if you draw them. (However drawing Salvation + Droplet can save your butt)
Well. I do see Centurion as a fix for Snake Eyes as well once SUDA comes (and with it, the new Snake Eyes Fusion) since both Archetypes have the same aspect (being treated as Continuous Spells) which is the requirement to Special Summon the Fusion from the ED
E-tele into a ghost ogre. This gives you an interrupt on the field and a level 3 tuner when/if needed. Optionally, you can then synchro with your level 3 dragons into Golden Beast Malong. It gives you level modulation to a level 5, 6 or 7 for further synchro plays. If you didn't use your ogre here yet, you can instead make a Kuibelt or other level 7 and use the ogre to go into Chaos Angel. Additionally, Kashtira package are cards of level 7 as well. This let's you make 7xyz or generic synchro 10s like Chaos Angel or Chengying.
Tenpai went from a resilent and ignorant OTK deck to a glass canon OTK deck. Yes you can replace the one card starters you lost with more doras and genrokus, but those are not just one card starters, they are extenders for if you get ashed or impermed.
Realistically it's never been "good", it just has several cards that say "your opponent cannot attempt to play" without those effects the deck itself is actually just ass.
Yeah Squiddy has apparently been having some success with that. I’m not a huge fan of it though, it’s not helping you otk unless you open exactly Magnamhut, and that’s already the case in the pure build. I’d rather make sure the otk goes through than try to turn Tenpai into a grindy deck.
Kash too good. One Fenrir gets you into Tenpai. Special Fen. Use eff, add Rise. Normal Rise, use effect, banish any Kash, make lvl 7 Overlay into Draccosack, use effect, summon 2 lvl 3 tokens Turn the tokens into Cherubini, use effect, send Paidra Link Cherubini and Draco into Princess, Princess revives Paidra, proceed to otk.
@@Traxz180This is like making the point of Imperming the normal summon of Snake eye ash... You activate the extender in hand that you may or may not have drawn. Yes the line is very vulnerable, but it's a line regardless

@@MSTTV thank you for comment. I do understand that handtraps are a real thing, so maybe we main Crossout since we go second. Not to mention, this line was done with just 1 Fenrir. You got 4 other cards in hand, 5 if go second, so any extender is real. Gold Sarc into Blaster, Normal Dora Dora, Sangan Summoning, so many extenders that can get there. All is dependent on how one builds their deck but I figured I’d come out and give this example that I will be testing at my locals
@@wiccanjaceunfortunately Rise Heart takes your normal summon for the fenrir combo, so you can’t just normal summon dora Dora like you said. Sangen summoning or kamen searching genroku will help you extend though. Or just hard drawing chundra/excavating one of these off prosperity.
That's a 3 Card Combo (because you need Snake Eyes Ash for the Snake Eyes play, Diablestarr for the Azamina Play and Ponix/Ulacanix for the Fire King play) or a 2 Card Combo with Trap. It's not that worth right now
@augustusplays7896 But you can't really access Fire King, which is the thing here. If you want to access Fire King, you either need Ulcanix or Ponix on the starting hand since you can't bridge into Fire King anymore with OSS ban, so you must start with them
@ I’d say 2 dogoran and kurikara, you’re already going second, and most going second cards will make kurikara live, you only really need 1 fadra to resolve its otk, so even using any fire dragons for small world will lead you back into chundra honestly. And you also play ash, which makes about 11 fire bridges for it. Imo, that’s just optimal now. I don’t think masked dragon is good at all, but that’s me. The deck is just bait and otk. And I’m not saying it’s mandatory or anything, but it does and can replace some of its consistency loss.
