My brother lives one block away from Price Hill Chili. He's a bachelor so he eats there alot. Over the years remodeling in Cincinnati this place was always a favorite among the guys for lunch. Excellent 5 ways!
I don’t live any where near Cincinnati, and had never heard of their chili until a few years ago.I kept thinking about ordering a can of Skyline on line, but it seemed to expensive. So this year I just made it myself.I love it.Made it for a guys weekend camping trip in the mountains in Oregon, and all of the guys loved it.
You've gotten so comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera when doing your reviews and it's good to see. Much more professional than your earlier reviews but those early reviews are nothing to be ashamed of. Those french fries looked like they were cooked perfectly, and those sausages looked good also. Not the best-looking restaurant you've reviewed but older restaurants rarely are. If you like coneys and stuffed cabbages and American-style Hungarian food, you gotta try Tony Packo's in Toledo if you're ever up that way. Great food! Maybe you could go a little in depth about the different types of sausages you had there in Cincy? I've never had Cincinnati chili but I'd like to try it someday. As a kid I loved going to King Island, but much to my father's chagrin I never rode the roller coasters because I was afraid, I would get sick and throw up. I much preferred the Barney Oldfield cars or the bumper cars. I guess that's why I became a truck driver later in life because I like to drive. I remember there was a German village(?) at Kings Island where one could get German food and an Italian village where one could get Momma Rosa's pizza which I thought was the best pizza I'd ever had as a child. The best part of the review was at the end where we got to see a nice picture of the Goodall family. Ah, you're a good man with a nice family. Thanks again for another great review!
Thank you for the kind words. I’m trying to have more fun in my videos instead of worrying too much about going by a predetermined agenda. By the way, that waiter log ride clip is of the original log ride that use to be called Sutter’s Mill. It now called Charlie Brown Race For Your Life. We rode every coaster in the park except for the twin racers. That is considered a Kiddie ride now. The Hot Chili Cheese Mett is a Mettwurst, which is a Local Cincinnati staple. Kind of like a mix between an Italian sausage and bratwurst. It’s my favorite sausage of all time. And , yes, that restaurant was old but those are my favorite kind of places. Nostalgic. The family has an amazing story about surviving World War Two and coming to America through Ellis Island. I would have talked about that except I didn’t want to possibly offend any of the family. Thanks again for always giving me honest and objective comments and advice. If I ever get to Toledo, I’ll try and get to Packo’s. Take care.
If you haven't done a video I hope you'll also look at Blue Ash Chili. They have double-decker sandwiches, too--one with Goeta. I don't work for them or anything!
Next time go to Camp Washington Chili. They have had quite a few Presidents eat there. Also off Liberty Street towards soccer stadium is an ollie trolly with Other food items that is good as well. finally hit Finley Market for many food options. All right there within 5 minutes of each other.
@@goodallscountrykitchen thanks for that. I live in Winchester KY but work in Cincinnati. My office used to be about 1 mile from that location. You could spend a day at Findley Market.
@@goodallscountrykitchen Silverglades has great Chicken salad, Taste of Belgium (been on food network), has authentic belgium waffles, Eli's BBQ (one of my customers) really good BBQ and have been in Krogers. The Arepa Place good empanadas. Those are some of the places we ate at regularly. Alabama Q around the corner is also good BBQ and soul food.
I agree with you I like all kinds of chili. That thousand island type dressing is good on a lot of things. There are so many variations. Some like it sweeter. I make mine a bit hot with hot sauce and brown mustard in it. Once you get that sauce right it is good on fries, burgers, fish or chicken. And of course salad. 😀
So the concept “cincy chili” is chili with spaghetti and grated cheese? I think I first saw this when Anthony Bourdain had this at the Skyline Restaurant? 🤔
Sir, my friend almost all Cinti chili is from Greece/ Macedoina ( section of Greece but a battle to separate for yrs) I know as I had some very good Greek friends, anyway the 1 that is not is Gold Star, the Daoud family is from the country of Jordan, they support my church in N, Ky. & some family attends here on occassion, we support them also with ads, etc...
I’ll try and remember because it’s going to be a while before I get back that way. I’ll try and announce on videoed preceding that I’ll be in Cincy and you can remind me.
Sir, very nice review, the beans are actually red chili beans & not kidney beans, many are grown in Louisiana, Alabama, if you have ever had southern red beans & rice, that is the bean
If you have never had goetta, I think you will really like it, , it is more than likely going to be what almost every restaurant uses which is Glier's brand & there are 2 others that are good but do not come close, JB's is really good, Finke's is ok, enjoy, but 99% of the places use Glier's, the best my friend
"I THINK they were kidney beans???" Um, yeah. They were kidney beans. And you don't twirl the spaghetti onto your fork. That's not how you eat a 5-way. You cut through it with the side of your fork and then scoop it up to your mouth with the fork. It's a 5-way not a plate of spaghetti and meatballs.
I am on year 55, routinely travel the world and I’ve never heard of mett until this video.🤷♂️ It is now on my list. Thank you!
It’s a Cincinnati thing. My favorite if any sausages. Especially a hot Mett.
