Wasn't expecting the sheets for this so soon Neil. Fast work there. Just downloaded and will get working on your great arrangement of this song It sounds so good on piano
Beautiful song, beautifully played. Man, I play every pop song on the planet and I've never ever learned this song. Funny. And it's what, 1993??? Never ever played it. That was a good choice for a piano song.
Thanks for a fantastic performance of this song, Neil! I love this song because it makes me feel the Dutan Duran accepts its destiny to fade out from the top stars of rock scene back in 80s. The song, however, firmly put its footprint to the brilliant history of the age.
TODOS LOS DIAS EN VARIOS MOMENTOS ESCUCHO ESTA CANCION COMO LO HACIA A MIS 20 AÑOS, EXCELENTE EJECUCIÓN!!!! DESDE UN PUEBLITO MUY REMOTO DE ARGENTINA!!!!
whaaaaattttttt?...Neil this is mega beautifulllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
Hi Neil how do you arrange these songs. I assume you just know chords so well you can arrange that way. This is what I want to be able to do....be able to play a song on a whim. I hate doing it from memory.
I listen to the song over and over again. Once I see what key it’s in (didn’t like this one), I play along with the original song again and again - and then play it just on piano without the track.
Sure, as long as you credit me by naming me and my channel in your video and add a link back to this video. You will probably get a copyright claim the same way as I did.
@@NeilArcher Just checked online: fantastic concept! Just a crazy idea: if you could hook up a vst instrument, such as, say, the Keyscape Yamaha C7, no affiliation, with no notable latency, perhaps it would be even better (?). But yep, it's an age old problem: nothing like a real grand piano, but most are not in pristine condition (juuust after the break-in period) and in perfect tune... :/ = the way good digital pianos are sampled (emulated). Anyway: subbed and looking forward to watching your other videos. P.S. sorry for the redundancy in my grammar/syntax in the original post, LOL
Thanks for the sub!! I’ve always played acoustic grands. For years I had a Yamaha GA1 Grand but with the humidity here in Florida, even with a dehumidifier, it would drift out of tune way too often for my liking. A lot of my earlier videos have that piano - up until around beginning of 2020. This NU1X ‘feels’ like playing an acoustic and that sound is that sound every time I play it. 14 other sounds on it including DX electric. I’d struggle to go back to a grand for UA-cam performances if I’m honest. Love this thing.
@@NeilArcher Sounds perfect! Same here in Coastal South Portugal (I'm originally from Germany): humidity, especially during winter. Glad we didn't choose the pipe organ as our main instrument LOL. The one and only complaint I have regarding most digital pianos (I had to play those on stage since the late 1980s) is that they just don't "sing" and "breathe" like an acoustic. You engage the sustain pedal and just slam and roll those sweet chords and melodies. A decent grand starts "singing" with all the sympathetic vibrations, a digital piano remains stone dead. The latest generations solve that finally....
I always felt the same way. No digital piano ever did it for me. This one is different - even the resonance when you strike those keys harder. This is going though a Beringher mixer with EQ and a little reverb which really adds a lot to the sound. Try and get to play one - you’ll be impressed.
Hello Neil, I have listened to many piano players and do like them but you are one of the best I have ever liked. Great job👌👌...I love all the tracks you play. If you ever feel like it and have the time, could you also play old Indian music melodies on the piano? You will have a very wide audience like myself. For example the track in ua-cam.com/video/u-EyWLvBYlQ/v-deo.html. I know Indian music and Western music have different fundamentals but your take on the basic melody of this track on the piano would be very interesting to listen to. Thank you so much for the great music...I have already referred your channel to like-minded friends who take deep interest in music. In case you like the experience of playing the Indian melody in the link provided above, I can identify more that are great, timeless compositions.

It's amazing on piano isn't it? I've never played it either until now. Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed it.

Love it. One of my favourite Duran Duran songs
Thank you Steve. Can’t believe I’ve never played this!
Absolute perfection! Thanks so much for sharing this!!!
Lyrics:
Came in from a rainy Thursday on the avenue
Thought I heard you talking softly
I turned on the lights, the TV, and the radio
Still I can't escape the ghost of you
What has happened to it all?
Crazy, some'd say
Where is the life that I recognize?
Gone away
But I won't cry for yesterday
There's an ordinary world
Somehow I have to find
And as I try to make my way
To the ordinary world
I will learn to survive
Passion or coincidence
Once prompted you to say
"Pride will tear us both apart"
Well, now pride's gone out the window
Cross the rooftops
Run away
Left me in the vacuum of my heart
What is happening to me?
Crazy, some'd say
Where is my friend when I need you most?
Gone away
But I won't cry for yesterday
There's an ordinary world
Somehow I have to find
And as I try to make my way
To the ordinary world
I will learn to survive
Papers in the roadside
Tell of suffering and greed
Fear today, forgot tomorrow
Ooh, here besides the news
Of holy war and holy need
Ours is just a little sorrowed talk
And I don't cry for yesterday
There's an ordinary world
Somehow I have to find
And as I try to make my way
To the ordinary world
I will learn to survive
Every one
Is my world (I will learn to survive)
Any one
Is my world (I will learn to survive)
Any one
Is my world

amazing rendition. What piano are you playing on?
Thank you! Yamaha NU1X
Someone needs to invent a self tuning string piano, I have some ideas on how this can be achieved.
😍🎹🎧🎶❤
