There was a cable car in China that crashed down, as a result of being over-filled fell, killing 14 people. One young couple held their infant son above their heads, sacrificing themselves to save their child.
"Daybreak" is the tribute and lament of that young boy for the parents he'll never know. The song's writer later adopted that young boy. The first time I heard this song was this same rendition in the Bastau concert. It made me cry though I can´t understand chinese and the video had not subs.
The place of the accident is famous for it's amazing waterfalls.
One of Dimash’s amazing talents is the ability to convey emotion without the listener understanding the literal words. Truly epic ❤️✨

“Daybreak” - At his first concert in Bastau: This song tells the sad story of a Chinese boy (Quon Yan), who along with his family, suffered a cable car accident in Xingyi city in Guizhou province, where many people died, but the boy's parents held him up with their hands and he survived, though the parents died. The song was written and composed by the boy's adoptive mother (Han Hong) and Dimash sang the song for the first time in Mandarin on “The Singer 2017”, but he had a sore throat and sang through injections. The doctor said that if he sang high notes, he would never sing again... He sang! Then he made this wonderful version, already cured, at his show in Bastau!
This was his first solo concert after The Singer competition 2017. The emotions he conveys in this song, the desperation and sadness are so beautiful but heartbreaking. And of course the stage show. There are water fountains on stage. I read that Dimash insisted on doing this to give viewers a better idea of the day of the tragedy. He’s just a perfectionist. He worked so hard for this terrific concert.
You can't imagine how grateful I am that you knew the back story before you reacted to this stunning version.

Esta versión es fascinante. Cuando la escuché por primera vez me impactó mucho porque recordaba a mi mamá fallecida y entendí porque me había afectado tanto su muerte😢😢 la escuchaba y veía seguido por casi 2o3 meses. DIMASH es para mí el mejor interprete del mundo. Sólo verlo en el escenario ya te hace remover sentimientos increíbles.

And in doing so he will create a new style of music which will take America by storm. It certainly isn't that the 2017 version of the song wasn't great but when you hear both performances you can tell where he made different vocal choices in the 2017 performance. Most likely due to the fact that he wasn't 100%. Personally, for me, this one just hits differently.

It’s very difficult for me to watch the Singer version because it was extremely painful for him to sing, apparently it took him 3 weeks to get over it.
