Tosin: Matt, people are starting to put up drum covers of the last album.
Matt: I got it covered.
BenKoonDrumming two songs that are almost impossible to cover are arithmophobia and eclipse on polysemy, I would shit if someone covered eclipse accurately
We all shit Octavian.
Chris I don't.
Chris Wachiralappaitoon I would shit on my own face
Luke Holland is already releasing a cover of brain dance :/
Getting an Animals As Leaders vibe here
holy shit dude I was thinking more of an Animals as Leaders vibe?
wtf sounds nothing like them
Not so sure about that, but 0:00 - 5:29 definetly has an Animals As Leaders vibe though
Idk man, sorta sounds like Animals as Leaders to me!
You're all dumb. This totally sounds more like AAL.
AAL will be taught in school instead of Math in 2018
Ha
Alex Dawood I graduate highschool in 2018! better come fast! I need this in my life..
They'll give us a physical education too.
I see what you did there lol
All those stupid people you see walking around listening to rap make up 80% of the population. Their minds are far to simple to understand the complexity here. Ignorance will fall.
The AAL fanbase has got to be one of the best in the music scene. Never have I seen such a meme-worthy comment section like this before. Good job.
Meme-worthy and friendly, that's something really rare too in the music scene nowadays...
I've also seen absolutely zero negativity
Try periphery. The comments are close, but not as good as AAL I agree.
@@surekhaahlawat6068 There are so many Spencer haters whining in the comments though
We memevolve when no one else does
Anime as Leaders killing it again
Sithu Aye a wild weeab appeared
@nick donzanti hell yes
As an outer assassin, this offends me
TRIGGERED
for a moment there I thought your name was The Assassin Activist
how do you think the medial assassasins feel?
Christian Karcher I'm dying of laughter thanks to you
what about the peripheral assassins? Poor guys..
It just blows me away how AAL's music is consistently novel and unique. Always staying the same AAL sound, and yet every song is entirely its own and distinguishable from the others. Mastery.
Cole Penick me and my friends put them in S Class along with Tribal Tech and Planet X
I have nothing smart to say
I never have
Casper Brocheler same
By acknowledging that fact, you've outdone everyone else.
"True knowledge exists in knowing that you know nothing." - Socrates
Big Blue Swisher But if you acknowledge that, then you know at least one thing...
This kind of metal is for a classy Djentlemen.
Is it 2012? I'm feeling some sort of déjà vu
Fuck off
Pierre-Bruno Rivard why did you feel the need to type it twice and only censor it once
You spelled it wrong. it's "djedja vu"
lol "fuck off"
This song is the best thing I've ever heard.
I love Anime As Leaders
Animals As Ladders
lol
Danimals On My Fingers
I see they are trying to transcend time and space with this album.
Matt Garstka As Leaders.
Dolf Lombard nah arithmophobia is much more so, the guitars were literally written around the drums on that one
Garstka have proven time and again he is the most technically proficient drummer on the planet. The dude is absolutely insane
That would be Marco Minneman. Matt is also god tier tho
I don't imagine there exist a beat Minneman can play that Garstka cant
hm wonder whod win Marco or Garstka
Tosin Abasi is a really good drummer!
Yeah, Sumerian Records is my favorite band
Now I can say Animals as Leaders is my favourite song!
Yah and he was real good in Django Unchained
@@Ilovepieandchips djent-go unchained?
With Matt Garstka on the 8 stringed guitar !
I wish the end of this song was a whole separate additional album ❤
Yay, new release from Animals As Dealers
Deal me them animals, boy
anime as leaders is better
this is so proggresive i can't even
after hearing this i think they should teach animals as leaders instead of calculus at universities all around the world
So true
with so many odd time signatures, I'm sure AAL can't either...
...finish my sentence.
@@NubBaD lol I was just making a joke.
Animals as Leaders, my favorite natural prog band.
B_Ontic natural?
jimmyjoemonkey II It's a UA-cam joke!
B_Ontic lol can u explain
jimmyjoemonkey II Read any comments on a Rich Piana video 😉
Man don't even talk to me
that fade out and what fades in at 4:14, i almost get tears every time. such amazing conveying of emotion without words, it sounds like accepting death as it consumes you.
Brian Lorenzo though I was the only one. It's the best part
Such a lovely goodbye vibe it has... totally love it
@@vaishnavplays203 lovely goodbye vibes indeed, I suggest listening to Inamorata. Another one of their songs with a LOVELY outro
@@carlos1163 Alright I will thanks:)
It tears my heart out every time
Thank you Tosin, Javier, & Matt.
Aw that metric modulation from quintuplet groups to quadruplet groups at @3:20 is fucking sick.
Michael Ayers Nice way to sound like a music snob
Bush Lee how so? I'm just calling it what it is. You don't call a doctor a medical snob because they use actual medical terms. I'm pointing out something that Tosin wrote and saying I appreciate a specific thing.
People hate what they dont understand ;)
+Michael Ayers A doctor doesent tell you you have Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis he tells you you have silicosis.Dont overcomplicate stuff in a way that for most means nothing.
Bush Lee I didn't over complicate anything. I didn't use some 20 character word I said "metric modulation" which is what it is fucking called and are words that everyone understands. There isn't another way of saying it without typing a whole paragraph which would make me sound like a douche. Don't be a whiny bitch because someone used a technical term and you don't know what it means.
Dude.. with Matt writing the drums AAL is so damn unreal
agreed. I love this new AAL album. I think it's their best to date.
I loved his embellishments in TJOM, but you can tell he was too hype on this album!
Agreed.
song is so good it makes me happy to be alive
Tigran Abasi is my favorite!
Really loving the direction these dudes are taking as a group though, A+!
You mean Tosin Abasi right?
Who the shit is Tigran Abasi? Tosin's secret brother?
I think he combined Tigran Hamasyan (prog jazz artist) with Tosins name either on purpose or accident
Brother of Tosin Hamasyan as well.
Laughed so hard when I saw this! XD
I've been thinking they should tour together, would be fucking Rad!
That ending just hits me so hard, so good
Love Karl Pilkington on the cover art.
Head like a fucking orange.
Don't. Talk. Shit. Play a record.
***** He popped the lad in a wheelie bin.
Mac Love running into fellow listeners of that show.
***** Yep, likewise -- the XFM shows are my favourite comedy-thing, of any medium!
Absolutely amazing. All I can say about the ending is: Soulgasm
Jon Ramen soulgasm! What a great word!
Lang Lang thanks :)
Jon Ramen yeah, such a buttery lead over slick rhythm part
Always hard listening for the first time. Get myself lost without any structure's reference. Happens all the time with ALLs at the beginning. This album looks promising.
Yeah man. Takes so long to get my air guitar improv on point.
If it helps, a lot of it is in 4/4.
Are you joking? This is almost entirely straight up 4/4 time. If you need help with finding the structure there......god help us all.
Matthew Neumann Structure≠Time signature.
Matthew Neumann
Let me be bad at timing and worry about your own stuff =(
I am more hyped up for this album than Pokemon Sun and Moon.
Same, and that's saying something
Congrats on getting out of childhood.
Man, that outro is so good. I wish it was more prominently featured...rather than a subtle, quiet fade-out
couldnt agree more
Don the Whale, fuckin a right man. such an awesome lick.
I've been waiting to hear this song ever since Tosins Sneak Peak on instagram of 4:15! It's so beautiful ❤
Great vibes indeed!
You read my mind!!!
Same man.
instagram.com/p/BCa_p0sC6uc/ this one also
The part at 2:03 . Had me waiting for so long
I'm getting a guitar for Christmas when should I be able to play this?
On the 3rd of January* :)
--------------------------------------
* ;)
you're kidding right? XP
Jonas Tamas aye in about 12 years time
it took me around 11 years to be able to execute the more complicated techniques. Tosin kinda has a technique of his own though. He didn't actually invent it he just changed it to make it better.
Popaturdout Mcfartswell three days tops.
That ending lead is so good
This album so far is literally all the best parts of the past 3 albums combined. Like no other band is coming close to touching what AAL do.
Agreed. It felt colorful like the self titled album, rhythmic as fuck like the second album, and ultra jazzy like the third. Friday can't come soon enough.
randomd00d19 I got my album today for some reason. It rules.
Nice! What's the best song so far?
Matt is such a wizard behind the kit! 💫
I feel like this kind of music will be relevant in 20 years!
that outro, i can already sense its gonna impact my life forever. the beauty. gotta get this record on vinyl.
The ending of this song just knocked the emotional wind outta me... and I've heard it 5 times now
I've listened to this song at least 20 songs a day since it came out. AAL is going down as one of the best. Tosin, Javier and Matt have all proved themselves as greats. They stand at the top now. I salute!!
By God, this one is juicy
Best song released off the album so far in my opinion! All are superb tho for sure
I literally just started listening to it and I can't agree more
Under-cooked.
this is a fat ass porterhouse juicy
1:38 is one of my favorite parts in any of their songs.
Yeah man it's my favorite part too.
@@biswayanbarman2437 It brings me so much joy every time it hits lol
Well that was anticlimactic lol
@@mediumChungus69 No way, that part fucks.
One of the best songs ever written.
I don't get why people like this crap. I can't even understand the lyrics.
Yeah, I think the bassist needs to tighten up
But there is actual bass in the records :P
Yeah I can hear that lol
Cameron LambSAB ..Har Har.. Har. For a Helen Keller clone, that was impressively funny. ;-)
@The Prince Of Persia
who said there isnt?
Love that guitar at the very end. Would be awesome to be used as like a soaring riff, so much feeling.
I like the fact that Matt had a solo on this track, not necessarily "new" but often overlooked. Fits well with the rhythmically complex grooves, and his playing is super tight. I wish we could see a lot more of this.
I love how this band can capture such specific emotions and ideas in their music and truly flesh them out in depth. Like this song, I get this feeling of self-sabotage and trying to overcome it and find peace through the progression of the music.
I totally agree!
easily the best of the 3 so far. this song is fucken addictive. amazing
I wish 4:15 to 5:30 would last for ever
listened like 1000 times
Reminds me of watching the sunset on the beach. Mmmm.
Beast Guitar nah from 2 mins on
Butter Guitar righhhtt????
I wish the same
Man the last minute is truly a breathe of fresh air, at any given time
Holy hell, this album is definitely gonna be worth the wait
brah that outro is absolutely beautiful. sublime.
'The madness of many' will go down as the greatest hip-hop album of all time.
This could be their best album yet.
I love the sparse moments throughout AAL albums where Tosin writes a simple melody. These parts are always so emotionally charged, I think partly do to the release from the tension of the spastic, chaotic structure of the songs. Like the part at 4:11 is so moving, not many bands can make something so simple come to life like that.
omg that ending was epic so low and old school remedies hit home with that outright solo. beautifully done gents!
the ending gives me this profound and beautiful feeling
Every time Animals As Leaders writes a song, they invent a new genre :)
This is easily one of the best songs I've heard in years.
Getting a Gordian Knot vibe from this track. #KnowYourProg
Love Gordian Knot. That Jarzombek solo in Rivers Dancing gives me zee feelers.
I have not heard this band in literally so long.....wow.....
Damn, great shout out. Code/Anticode is amazing
Don't you mean slipknot?
I like nipslot
The first six seconds sound like you're in an action/thriller movie where the main protagonist is trying to infiltrate some building, silently taking out the guards.
getting a dream theater vibe from this in all the best ways
Exactly what I was thinking...first 60 seconds I was like..this sounds like Petrucci's G3 with Satriani and then sounded like DT all the way to the end lol loved it.
got my madness CD in mail today. BOOYAH! holy kapow! this album is profound. beginning to end. AAL are the true innovators. turn it up! lord have mercy on all my speakers.
HELL YEAH.
MUSIC FOR ANGELS. WRITTEN BY GODS .
I kinda wish they released a music video for this song where people headbang perfectly in time with the various rhythms. They'd probably need to spend some time in hospital after the shoot, but I guarantee it would be a cool video.
I love the bluesy soul they are sprinkling to this new album, e.g. 1:22 through 1:30. A little Jeff-Becky.
Absolutely incredible, Tosin has always been my driving music.
wasn't expecting the end.. my girl just showed me this band, cuz they're playing in my town next Friday.. I can't make it because of work... madness. This is already one of my favorite bands and I've only but a taste of their discography.
That ending tears me up inside man.
benedict cumberbatch's shaved head
I swear this track just speaks to me on a human base consciousness level i skated today and this was stuck in my head and needless to say i hadn't skated in a week but this sesh was legendary. Animals as Leaders once again reminding us we are animals
What are you writing - sorry - are you braindamaged?
Its a brain dance if you will sir
Corey Richardson TeamSesh
So hyped for this. All the teaser tracks have been amazing
I don't even need coffee to wake me up this does the job along with a good headbang
That's what I'm sayin. I just listened to the new abr and then I came here.
I can't even get over this album. It's too good!
I love this song. Goes from total madness to tranquility.
By far the best of this new CD so far.
This is a banger, but I'm really hoping for another CAFO, Tooth and Claw style track in this one!
I would be very surprised if there wasn't. it does seem like theyre taking a bit of a different direction though, doesnt it?
I'll be pleased regardless, the songs they've released are so damn good
I wish they released new versions of their old albums with better production.
they did....
What? When, where, how?
Agreed. This is pretty good, but none of the previewed tracks so far grab me like CAFO and Tooth & Claw. I'm really hoping that they've included some of that style on the new album. Their heavy stuff to this point has been otherworldly. It would be a shame to loose that to a more mellow AAL.
8 more days... Can't wait. I still haven't bought my ticket to the show in Pomona, but as soon as I can get my stupid bank card activated, I'm getting one.
nice name lol was waiting for someone to make that pun the moment i heard the show's name
+Benjamin Kemppainen It's a shame it won't be getting a second season since, well, you know -- Madhouse...
yeah ikr. it felt like the first season was only the beginning.
All the Ramen on the Sky I'll be at that show.
Just saw them last night in scottsdale, it was a great show
Javier did a great job mixing this album!
i love this band so much
These guys are so fun to listen to. You literally have no idea what is coming next. Just awesome
what a great song with a beautiful ending. Havent heard such a peaceful outro like that in awhile. Reminds me of the end of the movie Gladiator when Russell Crow dies
Rip drummers
listening to AAL has been such a cool experience. I think tosin's playing has really grown, you can hear it in his solos. he's learned how to let his music breathe. idk the last two albums are easily my favorite.
Javier's bass playing in these passed new tracks are insane. I am so unbelievably stoked for this album.
the outro is AWESOME
The part at 3:21 has a new kind of ambience I have never heard before. Pretty much a new genre invented right here :) ILOVVEIT
Sounds like he was inspired by tycho on that part.
Check out tycho. He writes amazing electronic music.
You might like Planet X (it’s got Virgil donati and tony mcalpine)
already ordered the CD but this track compelled me to order the vinyl as well. digging the new tunes guys
I love the juxtaposition of the heavy shit with the beautiful stuff at the end. Lot of room for metaphors in this tune. AAL are amazing.
Dat groove.
this music allows you to do some crazy headbangs!
crazy headbangin´ patterns..
Seizure headbanging pattern. Loco loco loco crazy.
yea i listen to this on the bus and i'm sure people are confused about my head bobbing and banging patterns lol
wasnt ready for that beautiful ending, this album is going to be another great piece of art
This is the catchiest song I've ever heard by animals as leaders
OMG Thoses riffs after 2:20 !!! i've seen video of tosin on fb, working on this track earlier this year and was like " can't wait to hear the master version , but this is even more awesome than what expected haha
Woah this is some good prog mate
Kenneth Eslinger it's tosin, so you receive a "duh it's good prog"
IIIFrenchyIII never fails to deliver
It's almost like the bass and guitar are vocalizing and singing/having a conversation with each other! It really pulls you in, and there's some extremely interesting ideas in this song. Not to mention the drums gluing everything together.
This is truly brilliant....Hats off again "AAL"
Sweet Christmas!
unique style everytime
Sooo good! Thanks guys for more great music!
Yesssss this is fantastic
