  • I have never heard of this group until last week in a comment. I am happy to listen to new artists. I feel the thing that caught me was the quality of the video, but mostly the locations they filmed. They are a very talented group. I am happy to see more as requests come!

Thanks for taking my request. Glad you like it.
I notice you liked the rythm changes that's their thing.
They are an autoproduced group, all of their songs are written and coreaographed by them and there's a subunit known as three racha who are in charge of producing.
All bring my STAY (name of the fandom) friends to hang out with you.
    Thank u, once again.

Welcome to Stray Kids. They are AMAZING. All of them can rap, sing, and dance so well. But what makes them really special is they actually write, compose, and produce most of their own music. They have a unit within the group called 3Racha who are the main writers/producers but all of the other members have taken a hand in writing/composing some of their songs. 3Racha is made up of Bang Chan (speaks English as a native because although he was born in Korea, he grew up in Australia, then moved back to Korea by himself(!!) after being signed by JYP when he auditioned at 13) He is the leader of the group (he was the one with orange hair). Han, who is one of the main rappers and a very talented lyricist. He's been known to write a song in 10-20 minutes. He was the 2nd rapper in the video. He speaks English well as he spent a lot of time living in Malaysia. The third member of 3racha is Changbin, the rapper who started off the song. He is one of the fastest rappers in KPOP.
The group is also unique in that the company did not put this group together, instead, they decided to do an experiment and let Bang Chan (who had been a trainee for 7 years at this point) choose who he wanted to be in the group. He initially chose 8 other members so they debuted as a group of 9, but one of the members left in 2019. After choosing the members, they took part in a reality show called Stray Kids where they had to do several missions that the company set, to see if they were ready to Debut. Two of the members were eliminated but brought back in the final episode so they were able to debut as a group of 9.
    The other members are:
Felix - the one with the long blonde hair at various points in the video. Known for being one of, if not the deepest voice in KPop. Part of Danceracha as he is one of the better dancers in the group, helps with the choreography for their dances (although they do NOT do their own choreo as someone else said, they have company choreographers but Danceracha definitely contributes to the choreo.) He was born in Australia and moved to Korea at the age of 16 after being accepted at an audition with JYP. Nearly didn't debut as he had *no* knowledge of Korean before he moved there (despite his parents being Korean, he said in an interview he only knew the numbers and how to say hello before he moved there).
Hyunjin - longer black hair, he was wearing a 'crown' of hairclips in the video. He is also part of Danceracha and is a phenomenal dancer! There are several videos of Hyunjin doing dances that he choreographed, as well as being chosen as an Artist of the Month for Studio Choom, where he danced to Post Malone's Motley Crew. All of these videos are fire! Speaks fairly decent English as he spent some time living in Las Vegas when he was young.
Lee Know - had reddish/blonde hair in this video, was the member who was doing the 'Tsurikun' part that turned to animation then back to reality again. The 3rd member of Danceracha and the Dance leader. He was a backup dancer and went on tour with BTS before becoming an idol himself. He helps with teaching the rest of the group with the choreos as he is a super fast learner and has the best technical dance skills.
Seungmin - Part of Vocalracha, although they don't have any set roles anymore, Seungmin is considered the main vocalist. He was the one that sang the 'Why you mad, why you sad' part in English. Also speaks English well as he spent some time in Los Angeles when he was young.
I.N - also part of Vocalracha and the maknae (youngest) of the group. Black hair, sang the part just after the two members were riding on top of the other members.
Basically all of the members can speak *some* English, especially since they spend a huge amount of time with Bang Chan and Felix who are native English speakers (you'll even notice some of them coming out with an Aussie accent on occasion, although Han tends to sound British when speaking English).
For other songs to check out, they literally dropped a new album a couple weeks ago. I recommend checking out the title track Lalalala. It's also very high energy and has a LOT of videos just like this one with choreo, lyrics videos etc etc. Other songs to check out are: God's Menu (this song basically launched their stardom), Venom, Side Effects, Easy, Double Knot, Topline, S-Class and so many more, they really don't miss with anything they bring out. If you want to see just how deep Felix's voice can go, check out Victory Song, and Miroh. They do have a huge discography and a huge range as well. If you'd like to see a softer side, check out Youtiful, Neverending Story, or Leave which is also off the latest album.
Any other questions just ask. STAY (the fandom name) are always willing to help!

Thunderous was my intro to Stray Kids and kpop. Stray Kids are like nothing else. They have two new songs out Lalalala and Megaverse.
3 of the members are the main producers with help from others and the leader, Bang Chan (orange hair in this video) is the main beat creator. Beyond the 2 new songs you might like S-Class and Topline

Hello Jerod M, Thanks for your reactions to our boys. Stray Kids are a 4th gen S. Korean group have amazing music, STAY's (fandom name) biggest flex is that they are a self-produced 8 member group from JYPE, and create this music themselves (lyrics, composition, production). Most of those amazing beats are created by the leader, Bang Chan, who choose the members of this group himself. Their title track MVs are awesome to watch and every so catchy. They are directed, edited and styled by some of the best in the business and it shows, worth every penny. Since you ask so nicely, I will find my mini intro to share and I am looking forward to see you continue your journey.
🌟 Just let Stay know what kind of type of music you like and we can find it.. I have a short (ha) list of recommends you could start with:
💖 Hard hitting EDM: Thunderous (you just seen), Easy (my Favorite), God's Menu, Maniac, Double Knot, Freeze, Venom, Backdoor, S-Class, Lalalala (new)
💙 Rap/loud: 3racha, Topline, Item, Muddy Waters, Heyday, Hall of Fame, Runners High, Zone, All In, I Got It
💛 Pop Rock: FAM (K ver.), Get Lit, Case 143, Circus, Cheese, Up All Night, Any, Battleground, Social Path
💚 More R&B, ballad-style: DMLU, Chill, Neverending Story, Winter Falls, Limbo, Levanter, Gone Days, Lonely Street, Cover Me (new)

@@JerodM Watching some of your reactions years ago, I think you would love Neverending Story or Cover Me. Both only have lyric videos, but Neverending Story has a live performance featuring their live vocals; I recommend that one with the lyric video. Cover Me is off their new album that just came out in November, so we hope they release an MV for it, but we don't know yet. If not, we hope to get a live version like some of their other B-sides.

Thanks for your reaction to Stray Kids. They Are an 8 member self producing group who debuted in 2018. Their ages range from 22 to 26 and two of them are Australian, their leader Bang Chan (Chris) and Felix (deep voice and face of an angel). You might like to check out some of their latest releases, LaLaLaLa and Megaverse from their hit album Rock Star. They are brilliant.

Thank you for reacting to Stray Kids (you chose a great group for a first reaction to Kpop). They produce their own music (not common in Kpop), they are great dancers, rappers and singers, and they have some of the best MVs in the industry. Generally Kpop fans don’t like to compare groups, they are all great in their own way. Since Stray Kids produces their own songs, they have perfected a genre of their own (it has even been given its own name by the media, “mala taste”) and, while all 180 or so songs they have produced are all different, they are all unmistakably “Stray Kids”. The 8 members of this group are very talented artists, with endearing personalities and great vocals; it is hard not to like them. I recommend Megaverse next, but all of their songs are great, so lots to choose from. Looking forward to more Stray Kids’ reactions.

    debuted in 2018
    They are ages 22 - 26
They are unique for several reasons...
First, the leader Bang Chan was allowed by JYP to hand pick all of the members himself. They were not placed together in a traditional way, by the company.
Second all of them are all arounders. They can all sing, rap, dance, produce and write.
Third, they have written and produced about 99% of their music.
Numbers of songs each member has copyrighted (aka produced) according to Korean Music Association numbers so far...
    KOMCA numbers...
Bang Chan 180 (#3 in KPop; he's produced for other groups too)
    Changbin 152 (#11)
    Han 148 (#12)
    Hyunjin 22
    Felix 21
    Seungmin 19
    I.N 19
    Lee Know 17
While they can all do everything they do have 3 different subunits...
3Racha... Bang Chan, Chang Bin and Han which are the main producers. They are always credited as 3Racha
Danceracha... Lee Know (he is a former backup dancer for BTS and in charge of leading dance practices), Felix and Hyunjin
    Vocalracha... Seungmin and I.N
While the songs are hype they always have significant meaning to them. Their lyricism is always insane.
Since they are so experimental their sound has its own genre and they have a very diverse discography.
Example... Gods Menu, Back Door and Case 143 all completely different sounds.

Even though this is the first time you listen or react to Kpop Mv, you aleady noticed that Stray Kids is a unique group. They have their style/sound that no one does in Kpop and that is why they are building up a huge group of loyal fans (Stays). On top of this, the small unit in this group called 3Racha is the producing team for more than 99% of their discography. They debuted 5 years ago and got to evolve and perfect their own style/sound. You would like their music because they have so many genres/sounds.

I don't class these guys as kpop, these guys are a genre all of their own 😍😍 Self-produced, self-written, self-composed! 2 of them are Australian, some of the others speak some English, that's why you can understand their English well ❤

  • @StaySiren
    @StaySiren 9 місяців тому +1

Our guys have a prolific amount of music, and if there is a music video and it isn’t on the Japanese channel, they will have English subtitles. A lot of them are fluent English speakers, so they are quite comfortable with it.
They have 15 Korean albums - Mixtape (with their predebut songs), I am Not, I am Who, I am You, Cle 1: Miroh, Cle 2: Yellow wood, Cle: Levanter, Go Live, In Life, Noeasy (This song is its title track), Christmas EveL, Oddinary, Maxident, 5-Star and Rock-Star.
Their Japanese releases are: All In, Top (and Slump), Circus, The Sound (full album), and Social Path. Their Japanese tracks tend to be some of my very favorites.
If you’re someone who cares about lyrics, I can dissect some of the meaning behind this song if you’d like, but as the people writing their own music (and they have so so sooo much music since 2017) they think very hard about what they want to express and how to express it.
The b-sides from this album with videos are: Cheese, The View, Sorry I love you, Secret Secret, Red Lights, Surfin’ and Gone Away. The last 3 are unit tracks.
As for what sets them apart from BTS… well, we do our best not to make comparisons, it’s just considered polite not to weigh one group against another because they are all very unique. Stray kids is 5 years newer than BTS, so it’s hard to compare them when they are in different levels of their careers, and both are doing what they do so very well. Both groups struggled and fought to get where they are, and in completely different ways, even when there are a few similarities between them.

hiii!! i can't tell if you're listening with captions or not, but either way, thanks for the reaction!!!! they are known for defying genres and just doing what they want with genres, while also having amazing lyrics at the same time!! they love to experiment with genres and keep people on their toes when it comes to production (arrangement & composition if you know anything about music production) even just the production itself is very impressive, while the lyrics and melodies are also very impressive

Hey Jerod, I have been a subscriber of yours for years, back when you got into Pentatonix. I stepped away from them and Western artists about 3 years ago and have been into K-Pop since. I only stan only a few groups, but Stray Kids are my ULT group. They have so much content that I don't need to follow anyone else. 🙂 As I am sure everyone is educating you on them, I just wanted to say as a long-time subscriber, you chose the right comment and group to start your K-Pop journey. Each member is special in their own way. I love them all. Knowing you love music like you do, you won't be disappointed. They are very diverse when it comes to their music. Their content, apart from their music, is also good. They are just a loving fun group of guys that will keep meeting your expectations. I hope you continue down the rabbit hole of Stray Kids and enjoy it. I wrote this before watching your reaction. I hope you enjoyed it. 🙂 Again, I am sure there are plenty of suggestions in the other comments. I just got excited to see you were reacting to them. As another commenter wrote, when watching K-pop groups always turn on CC's so you can see what they are saying.

    "The Thunderous ones are here!"
Hey! Thank you for your reaction friend!
Stray Kids is an 8 members group gather by the lider of the group Bang Chan (this is the only k-pop group formed this way. Usually the label company decides who gets to be the members of a group)
Stray Kids are self-produced. They create 99% of they're music and are also very involved in the choreography creation.
The group has debuted in 25/03/18 and the members are:
Bang Chan (The Lider) , Changing and Han. They are also known as the producers and songwriters - 3Racha subunit.
Lee Know, Hyunjin and Felix also known by the name of- Dance Racha subunit . All of them have solo songs composed by themselves.
Seugmin and In as the Vocal Racha subunit. They have released solo cover songs.
They all are skilled in dancing, they all can rapp or sing and lately all of them are getting intrested in songwriting and producing.
Lalalala is the title track of their last came back that just dropped a mounth ago! This is the one you should check next. Is INSANE from whatever point of view you wanna watch it!!!
If you enjoyed it you should also check out some other really good music that they have such as Megaverse, S Class, Topline, Maniac, Venom, Frezze, God's Menu, Domino, All In, Social Path, Charmer , Get Lit, ITEM Super Bowl (eng version).... Etc.
If you want to hear something less hard striking songs you should go on TMI, FNF, The Sound, Christmas Evel... Etc
If you enjoy more soft ones you can check out Chill, Blue Print, There, Your Eyes, B Me, Gone Days.....etc
Songs that can crush your heart are the ones of Han and also Lonely St, Leave, Cover me, Winter Falls, Secret Secret, Levanter, Scars, Youtiful.... Etc
And if you want the hot ones i strongly recommend Red Lights, Drive, Taste (Dance performance)
Mostly rap- 3Racha, Heyday, Muddy Waters (performance) Runner's High, I got it( Han), Mirror Mirror (Milli, F Hero ft Changbin) . .... Etc
I also recommend they're pre-debute song Hellevator and they're debut song District 9!!!
Believe me my friend... The list could continue forever cuz they're discography is no skipping song at all.
Every song that you will listen will blow your mind for sound, lyrics, visuals, choreography, words play.... And also have excellent acting skills!
They are amazing and i guarantee for an excellent experience 100%
