I purchased 2 of your UGA -HDMI -2S units. currently running 5 outputs ( 5 if you include the laptop. ) These are used in commercial applications along with software I coded especially for multiscreen displays. Your hardware is nothing less than cutting-edge! - and your support team are really switched-on and knew EXACTLY the correct configuration I needed. In my humble opinion? - you are the ONLY company to go to for hardware of this type. I've been running your hardware for the past 5 months in-store and they are solid as a rock. - thanks guys. ;)
Wow ,the days of installing multiple GPU's on a desktop PC seems to be behind us. Maybe for a long time now , but i have only discovered these methods lately which is awesome.
i am watching this video and they NEVER mentioned Desktop ..ALWAYS ONLY Laptops so I thinking this will not work on a desktop ..I not seeing anyone showing it working ONLY on a desktop
@@jacenkun2931 It will work fine on a desktop, I'm running 3 monitors on my Desktop with an old GTX 970 and four DisplayLink USB2DVI Adapters (ala Plugables product)
I currently have a desktop PC with integrated graphics. I have 2 screens already (one HDMI and one Display Port). I am trying to add 2 more screens and want to run an extended display over all four. I am out of DP & HDMI ports on my desktop. Is this a solution for me? Anything would help. I am trying to avoid adding a GPU.
Get a "USB 3.0 to HDMI Adapter" or "USB 3.0 to Display port", or one of each and plug your monitors there. Just be cautious cause depending on your PC you might not get full quality or work 100%
Where do you buy the desk and mounting equipment you used in this video? What are all the monitors shown in the video and dimensions, and where did you get them from?
When I've tried adding 2 monitors to my laptop, the first works ok using the HDMI port; the second I have going thru a USB-HDMI splitter. One performance problem I've seen in that using it (esp with HDMI(native) + 2 HDMI on the splitter) is it kicks off something called 'Windows Driver Foundation User-mode Driver Framework Host Process. That process is kind of a hog, and messes with other processes. For example, using HDMI + 2 HDMI on the splitter makes audio and midi unusable due to interruptions. QUESTION: Is Windows Driver Foundation a factor with the Plugable devices? Is there a performance hit or process interruptions?
I know this is a later reply but I need help with something. I need to connect a total of 8 mini touchscreen monitors to my PC. I bought a total of 8x HDMI to USB 3.0 adapters and 2 USB 3.0 7 port hubs. When I plug a few monitors into the hub, they start flickering and become unusable. However, when I plug the same monitors into my PC without a hub, they work fine. Please help I need an answer soon. Thanks.
Hello, we can certainly assist and help with setup for these graphics adapters. With touchscreen monitors there are an additional layer of complexity that can occur compared to normal monitors which may cause issues. Can you contact us directly from our support page here so that we can further investigate plugable.com/pages/support
Each display you add will grab some memory from the laptop or desktop. With a lot of displays that means there is less memory to run the apps themselves. I think there would be a cut off point where it no longer makes sense to add more displays. What that limit is would depend on how much memory there is in the machine and what apps you want to run and the resolution of the displays. But it's a nice idea. I do have 8 monitors at home, but they are on different machines. Some paired and some stand alone.
Hey, how would I set up 4 monitors. And have 2 laptops, each displayed to 2/4 of the monitors. And be able to have a button to switch the mouse and keyboard over ?

Thanks for the comment, we do run extended tests of all of our products to make sure heat generation is not an issue. I would suggest to have these adapters in a normal environment where there is adequate air circulation. Leaving the adapter's in a small confined space will trap heat. If you have any questions on this monitor setup please feel free to reach out to us directly to our support page here -> plugable.com/pages/support
Yes, these are all 1920 x 1080 monitors, as this is the maximum resolution these adapters can support. The more displays you add, the more GPU and CPU processing power is required, so it is recommended that you have a modern host laptop or PC. A discrete GPU would be helpful as well, but results may vary depending on the tasks being done.

I am running 5 cctv systems in different locations. What to share the screens. With these keep up with the video demand. What pc specs do you recommend with running a lot of live video
Hello and thanks for asking! In most cases we recommend against using our software driver based graphics solutions for CCTV environments. The Silicon Motion driver uses CPU resources to render the external stream, and the performance may not be idea with multiple video feeds. With that said you may find success using the adapters pictured in this video if the CCTV streams are lower resolution, such as 720P. If you have any further questions please feel free to reach out to us directly as well. --> Plugable.com/Support or support@plugable.com Sean // Plugable Support

Thanks for asking! We speak to this on our website in the technical documentation for the TBT4-UDZ dock (kb.plugable.com/1705024), however, to speak to this in short here... DP to HDMI is supported but it requires an "active" adapter, "passive" adapters are not supported. Hello there, thanks for reaching out. This video, as mentioned, was meant as a proof of concept and is largely intended to show the functionality of each device (though each functions similarly). For all intents and purposes, the setup you suggest would have the same results. However, as stated in the video, everyone's experience with such a setup will vary.
We haven't tested this exact setup, so we are not sure if this will work or not. However, there is no reason that we would not expect this setup to work!

Hi there, interesting solution you used to connect the 8 monitors. Just wondering to know if I can use your solution to connect 8 56" Smart TVs via HDMI with a single computer and use them as extended display all over. Actually, I'm looking for a powerfull computer wirh a GPU cards that allows me to do what I want. Any recommendation? perhaps more video cards are needed or with your solution I can setup this configuration. Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks for asking! With a modern Windows laptop the configuration shared in this video should work well. This would be an 11th or 12th Generation Intel. The adapters shown in this video should be able to power your 8 TV's however please note that these adapters are limited to 1920x1080 @ 60Hz. If your TV's are 4K displays, I would also recommend taking a look at our USBC-6950U which can run 2 displays up to 4K 60Hz ( plugable.com/products/usbc-6950u ). This is also a software driven graphical solution and should work well. Both the USBC-6950U and UGA-HDMI-2S ( plugable.com/products/uga-hdmi-2s ) use software to render your external display, and would not benefit from a more expensive GPU option. This is why we recommend a higher end CPU for environments such as you are describing. Please let us know if we can be of any additional assistance! Sean // Plugable.com/Support

Hello! As mentioned in the video, this is largely a proof of concept, and guaranteeing they would all run perfectly is a matter of laptop hardware capabilities. For Legion laptop you should be able to connect 8 monitors. Having said that, we do not recommend our products for any graphic intensive applications. Such applications are rendering, CAD, or gaming. Am only able to have three monitors and the lap top screen turns off I have a dell doc so if I wanna just add one more monitor I need just one adaptor correct?
Thanks for asking! To be sure we best understand. It sounds as though you wish to have 5 total monitors including the laptop screen in the total count? If that is the case it does sound as though you are hitting the hardware limit that most laptops have for external displays. You are correct in assuming you can use one of our UGA-HDMI-S or UGA-DP-S adapters to add a single additional display to your system. The graphics adapters shown in this video use an alternative rendering solution and therefor do not count to the total maximum number of displays your laptop can render. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance. Sean // Plugable Support

@@justr1ck_ Thank you for the clarification! In that case you may wish to take a look at one of our UGA-HDMI-2S graphics adapters. Hi there. Im setting up 2 monitors with my Lenovo Ideapad 3, RYZEN 5..and it wont work with type c multi- daptors, it only works if I plug one of my external monitors directly to the HDMI port. Ive use converter on my type C to HDMI but it still wont detect it. What do I need to do that have my laptop extend to another 2 external monitor?
Hello Vladamir, thanks for reaching out. This is likely due to unsupported video via USB-C which is common in Ryzen systems. To achieve two displays, you'll need a USB 3.0 based device such as our UGA-HDMI-2S, or USBC-6950U, or a UD-3900Z (docking station). The devices mentioned range from 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz to 4K @ 60Hz.
Thanks for asking! For connecting eight 4K displays I'd suggest using the USBC-6950U (plugable.com/products/usbc-6950u). This is a similar adapter which supports two 4K 60Hz displays with either HDMI or DisplayPort connectors. With four of these units you should be able to connect to eight displays. It's important to note that macOS would be limited to 4 displays through this adapter, so this can only be done in Windows. I'd also note that this setup would not be suitable for any graphically-intensive tasks such as CAD, video editing, or even as a video wall as the performance with these tasks wouldn't be great. For this setup please ensure that the processor in your computer is Intel 11th Generation equivalent or newer. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

Thanks for asking! If I understand correctly I believe you are hoping to create what can also be referred to as a 'video wall', where the goal is to display a single video across many displays. Unfortunately this can not be done with our products at this time. With the UGA-HDMI-2S and other adapters shown in this video we can assist in the goal of getting up to 8 extended displays. Hello Derek, thanks for reaching out. If the intention is to use them as a video wall, this unfortunately would not work. @@LouiseERne98 Thank you for clarifying. Yes, our devices can be used to add two additional monitors to a desktop. Depending on the device software may be required. In addition to this, when using our devices to add more monitors to a desktop, one monitor will likely need to be connected directly to the desktop it self.

Hi Chad, thank you for asking. You could connect both your USBC-6950UE adapters to your laptop/system using either USB-A or USB-C (if available) on your system and that should satisfy at least four external monitors without needing a Hub. Most laptop/systems come with USB-A and now USB-C ports so instead of using a Hub, you could simply use your onboard USB ports instead. Please keep in mind that your USBC-6950UE adapters are only capable of providing two external monitors at a time. Not four. The reason I mention this is you brought up eight monitors so I wanted to help clarify. If you were looking to connect four more monitors then you would need a Hub such as the USB3-HUB7C and two additional USBC-6950UE adapters (or UGA-HDMI-2S adapters as seen in this video) to accommodate eight external monitors. All that being said, please note that this video does describe some possible limitations (video start 1:37) so you will want to keep this in mind if you are looking to add additional monitors past your CPU or GPU specifications.

Thanks for the comment! The adapters do use the GPU processing capabilities to output the displays, so the more displays you add, the more GPU processing it will require. However, this adapter should still work as long as you have a USB 3.0 connection.
Hello, I have an HP EliteDesk 800 G1 with I7 3.4gz, 32gb ram, 2gb Radeon GPU and 256 M.2 SSD installed. I was viewing your video and im interested in doing the same with my desktop if possible. I currently use it for live streaming and need to add about 6 additional monitors to so i can expand my live view to other displays. Would that be possible with the desktop i have and if so what do you recommend? Your help is appreciated.
Hello and thanks for asking! While the adapters in this video (as well as our USBC-768H4, the 4 display version) could work in your setup, we would caution against using video on each display. The adapters in this video use a software driver to render your external displays, and this can quickly result in a decrease in overall performance. If you wish to use the adapters to add additional screens for more passive tasks, such as reading stream chat or similar this configuration should work well for you! My apologies for not having a better answer for you at this time. Please let us know how we can be of additional assistance. Sean // Plugable.com/Support
Does the hub and adapters able to be used to display 4K 144hz Monitors ( x8 )? looking for something that is able to send signal as high as 4K 144hz. Of course 8 of them since 2 or 4 of said 4K 144hz is not enough.

The big mount looks like the AVLT Hex 32" Monitor Desk Stand

"If eight monitors feels like a few too many, the same process works for adding seven."
LOL.
Dammit! ... But I wanted six!
Oh well, the search continues I guess : /
Each display you add will grab some memory from the laptop or desktop. With a lot of displays that means there is less memory to run the apps themselves. I think there would be a cut off point where it no longer makes sense to add more displays. What that limit is would depend on how much memory there is in the machine and what apps you want to run and the resolution of the displays. But it's a nice idea. I do have 8 monitors at home, but they are on different machines. Some paired and some stand alone.
I'm just here to see how many ppl actually got 8 monitors and use them all lmao

Although multi-window display has been implemented, is the heat generation of the hub within a controllable range?
Thanks for the comment, we do run extended tests of all of our products to make sure heat generation is not an issue. I would suggest to have these adapters in a normal environment where there is adequate air circulation. Leaving the adapter's in a small confined space will trap heat. That's awesome! Are these 1920x1080 monitors? What type of a Windows computer would you need to have such a setup?
Yes, these are all 1920 x 1080 monitors, as this is the maximum resolution these adapters can support. The more displays you add, the more GPU and CPU processing power is required, so it is recommended that you have a modern host laptop or PC. A discrete GPU would be helpful as well, but results may vary depending on the tasks being done.
What laptop is recommended to run up to eight monitors sir?
Hello there! For the best experience you'll want to look for a laptop with a 11th gen or newer Intel. That said, 8 displays on one laptop may cause a poor experience depending on the applications being used.

Unfortunately at this time our products are not available in Europe, and I can not provide a lead time for these products to return.

Any recommendations to do this with eight 4k monitors?

Yes, this could be a solution (UGA-HDMI-2S), and would run 2x extended, external displays via the Silicon Motion software found here: plugable.com/pages/siliconmotion However, we have many solutions for multi-monitor setups and they will depend on the model of your HP All-in-one and the monitors you're attempting to use. Because of that, we would strongly recommend reaching out to our product experts at: plugable.com/pages/support and they can help with a tailored recommendation to your system. If you do decide to contact us, be sure to include the model number of your laptop and monitors. We hope this helps!
Hi I have an existing PLUGABLE USB-C TRIPLE 4K DISPLAY DOCKING STATION which allows me 3 displays currently. If I use any of these adapters will I be able to add additional displays ?
Hello there, thanks for reaching out! It is hard to say without knowing the full extent of your setup as some hosts have a cap on how many displays can be added via software enabled devices. We would strongly recommend reaching out to our product experts at: plugable.com/pages/support for an accurate recommendation based on your setup. Thanks again!
I need 3 monitors (external) plus my computer screen on my Surface Pro 9, plus I need ports for a scanner and backup. Can this be done?
There are a few options for connecting three displays and the USB devices you want. It may be helpful if you could message us at support@plugable.com so we can recommend the best setup for your devices.
Realistically, what is the limit on the amount of displays you can output? What if I wanted to double it and do 16 outputs?
Hello, our graphics adapter at most can support 8 monitors on a Windows 10 or 11 computer. If you have a specific use case in mind and have questions feel free to contact our support team at support@plugable.com
How about laptop spec minimum for 8 monitors
Would this work for at a restaurant for like a trivia night?
Hello Derek, thanks for reaching out. If the intention is to use them as a video wall, this unfortunately would not work. Additionally, extensions are needed to wire up displays around the bar, this would also see a less than optimal outcome. The further the signal has to travel, the more likely it is that there will be video degredation. Sorry we don't have better news, but hope this helps to clarify.
hi, I see some reviews of this product on the amazon website from those who bought it saying it doesn't work properly now that the screens are displayed, sometimes flashing. I wanted to test I can spend this high amount for but not be something. What if it doesn't work 100%?
Hello Diego! It's hard to say what may be causing those reviewers' issues. This setup can be resource intensive and there are some nuances to take into consideration based on system and OS. If you'd like to know more we strongly suggest reaching out to our support team with your system specs and monitor make/model at plugable.com/pages/support Lastly, if the setup does not work for you, we do offer a 30-day no-hassle return policy for all products sold by Plugable and fulfilled by Amazon.
I'm just looking for a quad monitor set up. My Lenovo laptop hub already has 2 HDMI +4 USB 3.0 ports. Which products of yours should I get to add two more monitors?
Hello,
Thanks for asking!
Based on the configuration of your system as described, you could easily add one of our UGA-HDMI-2S to add two additional 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz displays. --> plugable.com/products/uga-hdmi-2s
Please note that a driver installation is required, and you can download that from here --> plugable.com/pages/siliconmotion

Would this work if I already use one extra monitor and want to plug anotger and gpu states that the max number of displays is two?
Hello David, thanks for reaching out. We would want to know more about your setup before confirming definitively that this is possible. However, typically speaking, there should be no issue in adding a monitor via software such as DisplayLink or InstantView. can this setup carry dual 34" monitors with 3440 x 1440 resolution on both?
Hello there, thanks for reaching out. A setup like this wouldn't be necessary for dual displays. A product like our UD-6950 would allow for two displays at 3440 x 1440 @ 60Hz. Can you use some UGA-HDMI-2S and USB3-HUB7Cs to see different parts of the desktop environment of a latest updated version 22H2 Windows 11 OS in every monitor ?
Hello and thanks for asking!
The UGA-HDMI-2S can be used to extend the desktop of any host it is connected to, allowing each screen to represent a separate desktop space. Please note that the UGA-HDMI-2S can not be used to span the desktop across multiple screens, such as for the purpose of watching one video across multiple screens.

Does the extended monitor will experience some lag/delay/latency when streaming video and etc on monitor with usb-hdmi?
Thanks for asking!
There can be some latency or 'lag' involved when streaming video over a USB adapter, however this is based on available system resources. The graphics adapters shown in this video will use CPU resources primarily to render the external display. As a result performance can quickly degrade the more displays you are using, especially when showing video.

Can you use plugable dual monitor without a laptop?
Hello there, thanks for reaching out. Are you looking to use one of our devices on a desktop instead of a laptop?
@@Plugable I’ve already purchased one. Trying to use it for the desktop
@@LouiseERne98 Thank you for clarifying. Yes, our devices can be used to add two additional monitors to a desktop. Depending on the device software may be required. Keep in mind that desktops typically allow for multiple monitors via the onboard graphics device. In addition to this, when using our devices to add more monitors to a desktop, one monitor will likely need to be connected directly to the desktop it self.
does that work on a pc ? what is the connection from pc to the USB hub to transfer the display?
Hello, thanks for asking!
Our graphics adapters do work with desktop PCs as well as laptops. However with desktop PCs one monitor does need to be connected directly to the host for the best possible experience. On a laptop this is accomplished by the internal graphics card.
Our UGA adapters shown in this video use Silicon Motion technology to render your external displays which is a software driver based solution. We recommend this for office activities, and do not recommend this for gaming or other graphically intensive activities.

@@Plugable thanks a lot, i already ordered the Uga adapters and USB hub 2 days ago, waiting for arrival to try. cannot wait, i will let you know if everything works.
i bought 2 of your plugable 4K DisplayPort and HDMI Dual Monitor Adapter with Ethernet for USB 3.0, and i was wondering, for 8 monitors on my desktop pc, that has a rtx 1660 ti gpu, and an i9 9900k, do i need to buy the usb3 hub 7c in order to make it all work? thanks for the video

That said, this video functions as a sort of proof of concept. We typically don't recommend this many displays on any operating system as it will be resource intensive and may not function well on some systems.
Wont getting your video from USB ports diminish the quality of picture? I’ve seen videos/reviews saying it does. Other people say otherwise. So I’m just trying to ask around :) thanks
Thanks for asking!
This is not always the easiest question to answer, however we generally do not recommend using this type of graphics adapter for video streaming or heavy graphics projects.

"For Best Results-Ideal for web and productivity apps-like Google Docs, or Windows Office. USB-C to HDMI Adapter is not recommended for gaming, graphics-intensive or design work. Doesn't support playback of HDCP-protected content on sites like Netflix and Hulu."

Hello, our graphics adapters are compatible with Windows 11 and 10 desktop PCs. Software installation is required.
How much strain would this put on the graphics card could the laptop keep up with that amount of displays without overwhelming it?

It's hard to guestimate what the load will be in a generalized way. I can note that the majority of the weight (and strain) will be put on the systems CPU, and overall system bandwidth.

Hello,
I have an HP EliteDesk 800 G1 with I7 3.4gz, 32gb ram, 2gb Radeon GPU and 256 M.2 SSD installed.
