    That sounds cool! You get a nice, round and present sound with an instrument that is not as big as a regular clarinet.

    Can you talk about the fingering? Is it like the modern clarinet fingerings?

    Really great sound on that. Is that a shoelace on the reed? I'm been learning the tenor chalumeau and trying to switch from elastic bands to a leather cord. Its very difficult to hold the reed on.

      Hello! I use modern French-style e-flat reeds for soprano, alto and tenor chalumeaux, strengh 1 to 1 1/2 (so very light) and cut them down to size. I don't own a bass yet; you might need larger reeds for this one. Good luck,
