The problem is, many don’t or it becomes too easy to “figure it out” if the games were more deduction with a challenge it would make it harder. Good rule of thumb however is 70 years after time of copyright holder's death, though if I recall it can also last up to 120 years (don't take my word on that last bit though, been a bit since I checked). Oh and then actually trying to figure out who owns the copyright is it's own personal hell. Im not an expert on copyright. But in music its 70 years So anything released in 1952 onwards, still has copyright. Even if the artist is dead, the music still goes to somebody, such as their label/publisher
Copyright works like this... if the person "owning" a music or any literary works covered with copyright, it is assumed that the copyright is lifetime BUT once the "owner" is dead, you have to count for 50 years after the death of the owner for the copyright to expire. Basically, if the owner is: Alive- copyright is lifetime Dead- copyright is only good for 50 years starting from the date of death of the owner. (This is based on accounting and law rules in the Phil. I dunno if other countries apply this kind of rule too) The real question is... who IS the owner of the music?😅

How did you get copyright striked for in game music? The fuck is wrong with UA-cam and Twitch? They give way too much power to these performers/companies. At what point does it end? Are all videos going to have to be mute of all sound and visuals leaving creators to use had puppets to act out what is going on in game? This is one of the few reasons why I didn’t even try starting my own content. It’s just absurd anymore.

You can lie in that phase, but again it's still pure RNG that's favoured towards the residents, and this is coming from the guy who would try and blend in at the end. It is far tougher to do that now, and not worth taking the chance.

Im not an expert on copyright. But in music its 70 years
So anything released in 1952 onwards, still has copyright. Even if the artist is dead, the music still goes to somebody, such as their label/publisher

Copyright works like this... if the person "owning" a music or any literary works covered with copyright, it is assumed that the copyright is lifetime BUT once the "owner" is dead, you have to count for 50 years after the death of the owner for the copyright to expire.
Basically, if the owner is:
Alive- copyright is lifetime
Dead- copyright is only good for 50 years starting from the date of death of the owner. (This is based on accounting and law rules in the Phil. I dunno if other countries apply this kind of rule too)

How did you get copyright striked for in game music? The fuck is wrong with UA-cam and Twitch? They give way too much power to these performers/companies. At what point does it end? Are all videos going to have to be mute of all sound and visuals leaving creators to use had puppets to act out what is going on in game? This is one of the few reasons why I didn’t even try starting my own content. It’s just absurd anymore.

Reminds me of another streamer called "Teo"... some dude was fake copywriting his vids and he said that because of UA-cam policies and shit he was too scared at first to dispute it (makes UA-cam check if the copyright is legit) because apparently they punish you if you're wrong like wtf...
