    What a super episode Mat. The Bisley pellet test was particularly interesting as I used to use them around thirty years ago. They were pretty good then but you know what it’s like, try other different brands and then stick with something else 😉

    I use Biz Mags almost exclusively out of my .177 HW100 bullpup. They are superbly accurate (rats out to 40m, plinking at 70 or even 80m) and significantly cheaper than the JSB equivalent. The Biz LRG are good too, a great lighter weight target pellet, a very close second best after the JSB Exact RS out of my HW97 (and a fiver a tin cheaper)..

    • @theshootingshow
      @theshootingshow  3 місяці тому

      Yes - very good pellets and often underrated.

    I've just started on my last tin of Bisley Magnums. I must have had them a while, the price sticker was £5.95! Also I've never found the Pest Control to group well in any rifle I've tried them in.

    • @theshootingshow
      @theshootingshow  3 місяці тому +1

      Magnums are great. I must say, I've never found a hollow-point pellet that can really cut it much beyond 25m.

    DRS is not for me hopefully they will have a plug made for the fill port,and a decent scope rail and a better barrel ref pellets if you get a chance, try the long range gold my FX impact MK2 .177 really good with these especially at distances 6-60M i use them for hunting very accurate over distance and do a good job on the grey squirrels enjoy the video and your pellet testing 👍

    • @theshootingshow
      @theshootingshow  3 місяці тому +1

      You're right - Long Range Gold can be excellent, and I agree that the DRS should be supplied with a plug.

    As usual Matt ,, a excellent video and commentary, and your marksmanship goes without saying,, in honesty what do you prefer FAC,Or sub 12 appreciate your opinion,,👍🤠

    • @theshootingshow
      @theshootingshow  3 місяці тому

      It's horses for courses, David. I use FAC a lot, because the extra clout can be a real asset. However, if I could only have one airgun it would have to be sub-12 because they are so versatile in terms of where you can use them - and very quiet too.

  • @VTSteve
    @VTSteve 3 місяці тому +1

    I've watched you shoot for maybe a couple of years and what I've noticed is that these days you take a long time to line up the shot, then hold still longer before squeezing off the shot. I'm always thinking, shoot! shoot! I've also watched Simon6ppc a lot, and as soon as he settles on a fox, he fires immediately. Maybe you're being too careful ! ;-)

    • @theshootingshow
      @theshootingshow  3 місяці тому +1

      Hi Steve,
      I'd much rather take my time, and have missed a lot more from rushing than from from being slow over the years. I've been hunting with airguns for more than 35 years. I currently shoot around 1000 grey squirrels per year, about the same number of rats, plus hundreds of rabbits, pigeons and corvids. I reckon that experience has given me a pretty good understanding of when best to pull the trigger.
      Thanks for watching. Mat
