Perfect timing with this video. I was just thinking about doing a vision board for my desktop background and was looking into some third party apps. This is much better and more convenient. Thank you!
So Glad I found you! I am trying to take photos of my products for an instagram account, and this method from Keynote will be great for what I need. I can add logo on header, photo product in several views, and add text for materials or pattern sources. Exactly what I want.

All of my most important documentations are all in Mac notes and I have asked Apple if there is anyway to save them all and they say no. So I can't wait until I have some time to go through that tutorial. Wow!

My magic mouse is having severe scrolling issues -- I even bought a new one and am having the same problem. I see lots of posts on the Apple discussion boards about the same problem, but no solution. Have you heard of this? Any suggestions on where to go for a possible answer? The issue may have started with Monterey...

Use masking. Create a circle shape in Pages/Keynote. Drag the image (original rectangular one) into it. Or, put the image on the page/slide and then select the circle and the image and choose Mask With Shape.
@@macmost I tried something similar but it does’t work. When I chose masking it masks over the circle with a black mask. Maybe you could do a video to explain his to do it.
how do you change the layers of the photos? like if I wanted the bottom one to be on top. I was using the option key but then it makes a duplicate underneath. thanks!
Hi - I'm writing an autobiography for my kids with lot of photos in it, so I want to use a word processing layout. How to I then also add many pages of photos? That is, I want to have collages on pages in the word processing style of book.
Just fill that page with photos and the text should wrap around, avoiding that page. Or, if you like, insert a section if it is between chapters. Lots of ways to do it.

@@azsnowbird Yes. Select the background (AKA "nothing") and then in the Format sidebar use the Fill to add an Image Fill. Then you can tile it so it repeats.
I have run into my first problem, I cannot figure out how to change the landscape mode to portrait mode in Keynote 14.0. Can someone explain please, thanks so much. The tutorial said to choose Basic White under Themes, but there is only one in landscape mode, there is none in portrait mode. So how do I change it to portrait mode?.
There is no landscape vs portrait in Keynote. There is just the slide size. Click the Document button at the top right. Then under Slide Size choose Custom Slide Size and set the pixels to what you want. For instance 1080x1920 would be a portrait option.
Export to images is in Keynote. Sounds like you were trying to do that in Pages. With Pages, you can always print, PDF, Open in Preview and then export from Preview to images.
A bit too fast for me! I am relatively good with photos but have obviously been making things more complicated than what Gary shows. Still, it went too fast, and I had to repeat part of the tutorial. Still I'm not sure I can manage it but will try right now before it all goes cold.

Self running? What do you mean by that? And how would a picture be animated?
@@macmost Animate pictures to "fly in" or "Spin", etc. Then "Export" as a "movie" that will self run.

I just found a great UA-cam video that explains how to do this. Look up "How to Crop a Photo as a circle using Preview on Mac". Enjoy.

Select the object and use the Arrange menu.
I can't even find pages. I wish people who make these types of video would assume that a viewer has never operated a computer before.
If you don't have Pages on your Mac, you can get it from the App Store.

Are they image files? Just drag them in.

I'm going step-by-step but can't figure out how your are "selecting" when linking image to text box. I just keep moving the text box around. Help!
Do you mean grouping? I click one and then Shift+click the other to select them both. Then group the selection.
The sad part is i've been spoilt by iOS apps that does this very easily

hmm how come I don't have the export to images part, did I miss a step? I only have export to PDF, WORD, EPUB, PLAIN TEXT, RTF
I had to copy the entire section, paste special in microsoft word the save as picture from word, what a pain in the butt, I miss photoshop :D

Use Shortcuts, not Automator. There is a Combine Images action that will make it relatively straight-forward.
