Don't worry Eric. I already have this!! I have the Soocoo S33WS and the Yi Camera. Both brilliant for the price. Great video yet again. Keep up the excellent work.
The SJCAM SJ500X is very good. Just as good as the Yi Camera. Used to have a GoPro Hero 4 Black but sold it for this and the Yi Camera. The Soocoo S33WS is great as well, cheaper than those and even come with a case which holds all the accessories. Would defintely reccomend all three cameras mentioned.
I own a few of these, 4000s, 5000s... They aren't super durable and there is some weirdness with the firmware shutting them off randomly (though very seldom), they get really hot, and they are picky about sd cards. But who cares, they are super affordable for what you get and work great most of the time. I recommend them to everyone when the GoPro topic comes up.
So funny the timing on this review lol I'm currently borrowing a GoPro but can't borrow it forever (owner will def eventually want it back) and was looking at this exact model considering purchasing it since I'm on an extreme budget. Nice review btw always enjoy your content 👍🏻
I just got the camera today, it's pretty neat and comes with a lot of accessories as shown in the video. My only concern is that the battery compartment is a bit difficult to open. You don't necessarily need to open it to charge the battery, but if you're going to get extra batteries you might have to deal with that. Just a heads up, and as far as the camera goes, it's great, and the latest firmware seems to have improved pretty much everything.
thanks man, glad you enjoy the content! Yeah this is a really good and comparable alternative. Plus with a bunch of the access that comes with it, makes it worth while
hey Eric, did you purchase it from the amazon link you provided? Are you sure that amazon link is the authentic SJCAM? Just wanna make sure. Good video btw :)
Great review! subscribed!, Ive been watching a lot of comparison videos and recently the sj6 legend has been released, can I get your opinion if this camera is recommendable in making short films?
Im truly a beginner and am trying to make my first short film as sort of a "practice" film and I dont have enough budget for a quality dslr or high end film cameras, so Im thinking of using this camera for my entire first film, is it recommendable or should I wait and save for a good dslr?
have you ever faced heating proble? when ever i open up the waterproof case after session it is usally hot? is it normal or should i replace the camera? thanks
Yashraj AV thats pretty long, most will heat up since they are smaller sensors. I wouldnt worry about it, but yeah that sounds like why it was warmer. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Awesome video man. Nice to see such a clean video of the SJCam.
thanks man, yeah the Sony sensor kills it in this cam!

haha its pretty good! I have been waiting for one company to send the Yi to compare because I like the quality that comes from it.

Short films how so, like quick action shots or like using a majority for the film?

Eric can swim in a pool of his SJCam accessories.
sadly true lol
Could you put up some downloadable files? I'd really like to see the original quality of the footage. Thanks. :-)
today my sj5000x elite just came!!!!
Congrats! Have some fun with it!
Great video, keep up the good work. Thinking about buying one! :) al tho there are newer models out now.
thank you, yeah I have reviews out for the SJ6 and SJ7. I really like the SJ6.
My sjcam 5000 + died. Will the batteries and case fit the 5000x? I did order it anyway for my UAV.
I believe they did use the same battery
That would be awesome as I gave so much accessories from the 5000+.
How long did it last?
this or the m20???
I'd take this, but they have the newest model out of the SJ6
hi Eric, they say if you save a video in slow motion, is it gonna be VGA? im planning to get one this week. thanks in advance.
it would be vga, awful. I would slow down the footage in post. Shoot in HD, high fps and slow it down 50% in editing. Dont do it in camera.
thanks eric,. any more cons on the sj5000x?
at this point, its a bit older, I would look into the SJCAM SJ6 if you can afford it. But overall the 5000x is a good action cam.
thank you =)
is the sj5000x sturdy enough to last 2 years? how about the sj6?
I bought a 64 gb sd card will it work or not
what's your camera settings?
have you ever faced heating proble?
when ever i open up the waterproof case after session it is usally hot? is it normal or should i replace the camera?
thanks
is it like really hot or just warm?
a bit more than warm
Yashraj AV
never really had or heard of the issue with this. Shooting 4k, if so how long?
an hour long ...when am on bike.... but when I used the back attachment for recording(the one with holes) it didn't heat up. .so maybe ventilation?
Yashraj AV
