The Ocean's video for "Firmament" from the album "Heliocentric". Filmed live at Bikini Test, La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, March 26th, 2010. Filmed by Hector Saenz & Alexander Kraudelt
They really changed their sound from early albums...glad they did, cause this sounds waaay better.
one of the most criminally underrated bands of all time!
Yes indeed
Soo true:(
This band has constantly been on my top 10 of all time, and along with He Is Legend, are the best bands very few are listening to.
@@gordonchristophertubo3164 HIL is SO underrated. Love those guys and I wish they were more widely recognized
Definitely but it’s great to see them finally getting more recognition with the Phanerozoic albums
Reminds me so much of thrice. Love these guys. Very talented and definitely don’t get enough recognition.
Love this band! Can't wait to see them live this summer in Montreal city!
Yesss we wanna know how it was, dear time traveler
That guitarist self emptying is exactly what makes a show go from good to “I’ll be talking about it 20 years from now” epic!
Fantastic band! Melodic and heavy sound!
Just discovered this Band. That's some really awesome music right here!
One of my current favorite bands. "Heliocentric" is a perfect album. Hope I get to see them soon.

Cool, nice feels
Still a great band
Epic!
:D amazing Band
I would assume he's listening to Isis (In the Absence of Truth being my favorite) maybe Pelican, Intronaut, Baroness, or Torche to name a few.
At least I would hope, but for me The Ocean is right there with those bands on quality of music. The highs and lows feel so good man.
Portugal!!! :D November 7th! lets goo

I'm gonna miss this lineup :(
they have a TOOL kind of style! I like these guys!
Awesome!

Does anyone have an idea of where I can start if I want to have a live video playing in the back like they do in a lot of their sets? This is done through a projector right? I feel like I can edit the video together easily, just not sure where to start If i want to get it on a screen behind my band.
Diogo ou Diego no baixo?
@DarthSivius
oh yeah... :)
I love this band but I'm not sure they fit Summer Slaughter very well. Still excited to see them today in Atlanta though.
God is our sovereign creator
so you are new to the ocean then?
metalavenger23 ive heard of them since 2011
then did you listen to the lyrics of that album?
Or so do some people believe
Quoting Scripture whether the like it or not. All Glory is given to Jesus Christ. Amen
@AlcoholicSemenStain
I'm not expecting them to have any mainstream talent. I mean they should be more popular within the metal community, which they aren't at the moment.
Drop C I do believe
i saw them yesterday, it is the same guy
THEY SHOULD BE A HOUSEHOLD NAME!!!!!!!
@4Drought im so with you there man, goosebumps head to toe....check out 'dead letter opener' if you havent already too, great band from Australia...the track 'Anger Management' is fucking brilliant!!! :D
Fuckin groove!! Fuckin riff!! Fuck fuck!! :)
You guys should tour with Intronaut.
Song's awesome but this is not live. It's the studio recording put along with live-video.
...UnderratedAlbums?
mastodon
Huh?
80's Thrash sounds similar, like Leviathan album
The bass player looks like Brent Hinds of Mastodon XD Great band...
Insane band. They played in Bangalore and fuckin killed it. \m/
wow they sound alot like tool even the way the singer is positioned is something maynard always...definitely gonna give them a shot
is this a joke? how did they make the bill?
5:51-6:06
steven wilson
...has what to do with the Ocean?
@giorgioiliadis
Can't forget Meshuggah and Animals as Leaders.
....Its a comments section
The Ocean more like The Truth.
i think you mispelled periphery and animals as leaders
And God said,
Let there be light
In the firmament of the heaven.
Let there be light in heaven to divide the day from the night;
And let them be for signs, for seasons and for days, and years;
And let them be for lights the day in the firmament
To give a light upon the earth.
And it was so, and God made two, two great lights;
The greater light to rule the day,
The lesser light to rule the night;
The stars as well.
And God set them in the firmament
To give a light upon the earth,
And to rule, to rule over the day and over the night
To divide the darkness from the light.
Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters
Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters
And God said,
Let the waters bring forth, abundantly, the moving creature that hath life,
And foul that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
...Or so do some people believe.
Above the earth in the open firmament...
And to rule, to rule over the day and over the night
To divide darkness from the light
Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters
Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters
Jeff Haskins, word of Honour.
The world needs more bands like this. I've met everyone one of these guys personally in Indianapolis last November, and they are the nicest, most down-to-earth guys you could ever meet. Their music is complex, intelligent, and beautiful, and you just won't see anything like it, especially in the mainstream music world. I've listened to their albums more times than I can count, and I know I will never grow tired of hearing them.
Long live The Ocean!
I've only been listening to The Ocean for a year or so, and they're already like my #4 most listened artist all time on Spotify. I can't get enough. Amazing and underrated band 🤘
My mate just joined this band on guitar so thought I'd better come and find out just what he's up to and what they sound like... Very glad I did! Great sound and just the right balance of heaviness vs. melody... Rock out Damo! Yeeew!!
Heard this five or four years ago and is still just as awesome as the first time.
+mike white Dude you're pointless.
Between Tool and Gojira…pretty good band!
Yeah, with son NIN thrown in
theGiriP Tought the same a second ago
stop comparing artists
GiryTube at 4:20 I really think its the hidden of forest of Gojira !
@@pinfake Why? It can be a great way to let others know what to expect when listening to a band. They are simply noting the similarity between artists.
I literally cannot stop listening to this song.
I
I know it's seven years later but hey, i really feel what you're saying...And feeling...Peace out everlasting light
Beat out Tool's 20-year run as my favorite band as soon as I heard Pelagial.
Damn straight!
+Patrick Redd I wouldn't go that far haha
That album is near-perfect.
@@nickfitzpatrick3642 May of us would definitely go that far....ESPECIALLY after fear Innoculum came out...what an utter disappointment of an album.
Chris Clark Disappointing to you g, and I’m not sure why so many people thought it was. I think it’s an absolutely incredible album that shows off the bands maturity. Danny Carey is clearly at his best and Justin and Adam just keep coming up with great new ways to blend their sound with Danny in a way that only the three of them are capable of. Maynard’s presence on the album was lacking but when he is singing its not a disappointment.
That hook riff gives me chills every time I hear it.
Such a sick song prob my favourite from these guys, she was the universe is up there as well!!
This guy is in my top 5 favorite singer. Best live performance I ever heard. I was really impressed!
dude is a beast! he had to have his vocal chords rebuilt pretty much too!
@@buckfuttler2877 really?? why that?
@@nonpoint666rocks damage from singing. Happens to lots of extreme metal vocalists.
@@buckfuttler2877did he get surgery after joining the ocean? cause he still sings amazingly good
@@nonpoint666rocks yep just did it a few years ago. and yeah, what a powerful voice!
Looooooove this fucking amazing band!
They are so alternative that the singer isn't even facing the audience.
My new favorites:
The ocean (currently)
Mastodon
Baroness
Tool
Some other fifth band
This band has been evolving so much, glad to see that
Cause they're great as all hell. Very musical and complex. They're like Opeth, and if you don't see that/can't accept that, then you're just wrong.
