When I first found the JBU channel, I was in a VERY toxic friendship with my roommate that was incredibly codependent. I watched Gabe and Allison’s sketches and videos wishing I had a friendship (and roommate relationship (because their characters were roommates)) like theirs. Now ten years later and over the years of JBU being more open about their real life relationship and friendship journey, it’s actually a little relief knowing other peoples friendships were not necessarily the version we see online. But they became my (substitute parasocial) friends and without me knowing it at the time, we learned similar lessons as we grew up. I now have healthy friendships too and hearing this from you two is so exciting- I couldn’t be more proud
I never comment but HOW are there no comments about 5:34 when Allison says, "What do you mean?" at the same time and in the same cadence as Gabe saying, "D'you know what I mean?" You couldn't manufacture a better moment !!
I am SO proud of you guys! I've been in watching you forever and from day 1 I said it's like watching two halves of myself sit on a couch and talk to each other, so I think there's just something really complementary about you two. You coexist well.
I would love to see more friendship advice videos like this! I feel like everyone talks about how to have successful romantic relationships and never about platonic ones
yes we are proud of you! and so glad that you stick together through the highs and lows of life in friendships and business. and very proud of you for for being willing to discuss it with your audience. its a public good to acknowledge the realities of friendship rather than the idolisation of an unobtainable fantasy.

"You really find out that people are nuts when you try to work with them." YES. My partner and I get along, and we're both very successful independently, but sometimes we try to work together (say, on her small business) and that often results in hurt feelings. It's a totally different thing and I feel like when working together, we have to learn how to be with each other from scratch.

I’ve been around for a long time and I actually stopped watching when you had that massive fight on the podcast. It was insane and so toxic, it honestly felt boarder-line abusive from Alison at the time but hearing about the deep codependency now it makes more sense. So glad those days are over! It was stressful just being a viewer lol and I love the healthy friendship now
