    I did Tech Support for an Accounting Software package. My goto was always SSMS and not VS, finding errors in the data.

      True. SSMS is just superior. I'm so sad that they removed the debugging from SSMS and moved it into VS, where it works, well, kind of awful. It skips the commented lines, you cant really tell which line is currently running or not.

      I have found that building the database is easiest in VS (find and replace is AMAZING). SSMS is much better at managing the database (debugging, index tuning, etc.)

    Hi Tim, if I manually create my databases , do I need to be concerned about losing out on any advantages of data migration tools that Entity Framework provides?

    • @IAmTimCorey
      @IAmTimCorey  9 місяців тому +1

      The migration tools of EF can be great. By the way, you can use SSDT to do something similar without needing to use EF. But there are also downsides of migration tools as well.

    Is it real that a developer shouldn't be wasting time with maui cause it ain't stable and has no future?

    • @IAmTimCorey
      @IAmTimCorey  Рік тому +1

      The jury is still out on that. I do think it has a future, but it is also fair to say that Microsoft has not fully committed to it like they should have. It is a very new product, though, even though it is an upgrade to Xamarin. .NET 8 is bringing a lot of changes and bug fixes to it, in theory, so that might make it more attractive.

      @@IAmTimCorey Thx alot, 😊😊😊, would you build a simple mobile app(e.g notes app) for a client with maui? Or would u wait until. Net 8

    • @IAmTimCorey
      @IAmTimCorey  Рік тому

      A simple app is probably fine, but .NET 8 will provide a lot of bug fixes that will be needed for anything beyond a simple app. You could start now and upgrade to .NET 8 easily enough. Another option would be to look at Uno or Avalonia instead.
