I live in the Bronx, but I’ve been on a lot of dates with Manhattanites and Brooklynites. I’ve also got a date scheduled with a guy from Queens on Friday. 😂
I don't understand why they would be apart of the discussion. As a Bronx native, we don't speak about that place. Unless we're discussing the Wu-Tang Clan and then we still never bring up the location. Just the group.

As a Brooklynite i can only say this; keep your heads down, dont start none wont be none, and if you think that Times Square is the go to spot in NYC, then you're truly a tourist.

i grew up in brooklyn.... and in high school we used to cut school and go to the arcades in times square all the time.. trying about avoid truant cops..
what about the Central Park? because i'm curious to see the ecosystem in there and ponder how it's able to hold itself as the last bastion of green wilderness in a seas of concrete wilderness (that and i think that's prolly the only thing my mom would be interested in while i wanna go to as many art or science museums as i can).

New Yorkers say, "To be a true New Yorker you have to mind your own business" but I'll tell you what, as a New Yorker I can truthfully say, "If you are ever in trouble, a true New Yorker will always have your back, whether they know you or not".
FACTS. Only city I’ve experienced people quickly intervening to back me up when getting harassed in public. Ironically the bystander effect originated from a story here.
ppl who complain about that, aren't from big cities. I was born in NY but I don't consider myself one because I moved away when I was 2. But I've lived mainly in big cities (Shanghai, Taipei, Chicago, SF, and Oakland). In a big city, you mind your business because you recognize that stopping and making a deal about something is so much bigger, because there's a bigger audience. Also, you don't chitchat in public spaces or with service folks, because you're holding up the line, adn therefore being rude to other ppl outside your conversation. But if anything happens, NY'ers always pull up. Just cuz they're "minding their own business" doesn't mean they're not aware of what is going on, and they'll immediately jump in to help you.

the "most New York thing" I witnessed was a bicyclist and a bus driver get into a fight over the right-of-way 😂😂😂 like they stopped in the road causing a backup behind them and everything!!

Most New York thing I’ve ever experienced? Recently I found out that my local neighborhood bagel shop in Riverdale is closed on Saturdays because they’re Orthodox Jews, so I waited until Sunday to get my bagel with lox. That is a very New York thing. 😂

Personally it seems like a lot of people just want to see black faces and don't care about the quality of the entertainment. The ONLY black that deserves a spot on the show currently is Roy Wood Jr.

We moved from Bklyn to South Florida when I was 10-1/2 years old. Talk about culture shock. We moved from a completely integrated neighborhood to a community that just took down the colored & white signs the year before (the no jews, no dogs signs didn't come down for another 10 years). The next city over from us was the residence of the KKK & every year they had a huge parade- no joke. UGH. I couldn't wait to leave there.
He's a great example of how to get your own hometown to disown you. We don't claim him.

Maybe to some people but I can ALWAYS tell a native-born from someone who isn’t. I was born and raised in Boston but many of my close camp and college friends are Manhattanites. On another note I very much enjoyed Cleveland during my visit. It was the first stop on a 25 day road trip from Boston to Los Angeles. I was only in the city for 42 hours. However I was out and about for 26 of them. I saw quite a lot of your hometown. I’ve spent 3 years of my life abroad and I’ve visited 41 states. That being said I can safely say Cleveland is a very underrated city.

I visited New York for a weekend in high school (and got to perform at Carnegie with the school's orchestra) and I've played all the Spider-Man games, so I am definitely a New York poser 😂

When I lived in Sugar Hill in Harlem, I stepped out of the elevator one morning with 20 policemen in a semi-circle pointing their guns at me....never did find out which neighbor they came for but I have some guesses.
