@@John-el8dy this is true. For a while there, I started to lose faith in myself that I could get it built. I certainly chose the hard road for the method.
I'm gettin my airline ticket from US to AU. Nice job man. I love the roadway style on your track. I'd put a hammock next to it so if I woke up I could see it
@@seanciaudella4147 that's awesome. Who knows maybe one day it just might happen. I've got so many plans for this. I purchased a hoard of NOS AFX non mag chassis's 5 or 6 years ago that I've been waiting till I had a smooth enough track for them to really shine on. Magnatractions, Xtractions, TFX, T Dash chassis's. All this type of stuff I'm just going to go nuts making sets of 6 of for this track. I'm also planning to get some scratch built brass chassis's done. But first things first, just get this running, and get it race ready.
Hey MVR been a while, been taking care of elderly parents for the last year constantly, so not much time still to do much. But I have bought a few cars, the dreaded Super III and 4 gear, I said I was not going to buy again....Thanks to your interest in them I gave them another shot. I found that the 2022/2023 4 gears (large funny cars for drag racing) are much better, and the S III 2023 are MUCH better than the older ones, and the bodies are smaller which I like much better, but the liveries are so, so on the stock cars. The newer S III bodies work around the track much better than the older larger bodies, they are top heavy and de-slot way too easily. I have a bit of a cheat though. I have a set of Rooster Racings IROC Super 7 chassis, and I modified S III clips to fit the S III to the S 7 chassis, and it works great at slower speeds. The older S III Nascar bodies liveries are the best I have seen out of the other choices, and they are pretty nice going around the track at slower speeds as well. Anyway, interesting to see you back at the track building. I'm not familiar with that paint, but I would use a good alkyd primer because as you know that "paper board" is going to raise the "grain" something fierce if water based is used. Ask me how I know.....:) I hope it is going well, the track looks great.
@@JDL_2020 thanks for the feedback on the Auto World chassis's. I need to buy more 4 Gears I think? As for the paint, White Knight is an Australian paint company. Basically it's fast dry alkyd paving paint, and even though it's considered a gloss paint, the fast dry additive cuts the gloss to about 80-90% so better for grip, and hard wearing. I actually didn't use a primer at all this time, I thinned the paint down with a bit of turpentine so it could penetrate into the surface better. I got more work done on the track last night (second coat is now on). I filled with caulking compound this morning, and I'll third coat tonight. I'll do a new video end of week with my progress, I've been taking plenty of pics along the way.
@@murdervalleyraceway Many of the paints are primers now anyway. I look forward to the update, it looks like it's going to be great. As always with Auto World, buyer beware. But my last 2 2022 series 4 gear are both faster than my other older 4 gears. I received the Ron Capps Iwheels white NAPA as a gift and it's so so out of the box, but looks great. And the newer Super III really surprised me in size and running/ build quality compared to my last experience and others reporting as well. I have a picture of the bodies on the Super 7 I will try to post. The last time I posted a link I was put in timeout for 24 hours with no explanation. But I think you are not a magnet fan and the S 7 is high magnet down force but handle like a dream and FAST, too fast actually.
Love it ! Looks great! Can't wait to see the finish . Im currently finishing up my rebuild. AFX 4 lane 4' x16'
Very cool layout ,, i cant wait until its finished and your racing on it,, and im sure your even more anxious 😂😂
