  • Bob Chew shows just how strong a Stuart is. This boat fell from the third level of a boat storage rack and only suffered minor damage. A testament to these American made, semi custom boats!

It's a good boat for sure. I had a four Winn's 235 sundowner, it was a mid 80s before four winns became a garbage thin wafer boat. Not a top tier boat by any mean but they had a nice hull layup. I hit a shipping buoy hard while my blood sugar was dropping. Dinged the boat REAL good but no holes, and got her fixed right up. Embarrassing, at the time yes, but it was a good boat, I put 2600 hours on the original big block and I was young and wasn't easy on her but did all the maintenance myself and religious oil changes and drive maintenance. Anyways, I have a dual console with an outboard and they are so much nicer to deal with than inboard outboards. I may hop into a Stuart 27 as my retirement toy in 2.5 years. I've been eye googling your 27 for some time now, and you haven't gone anywhere and you do some custom touches for customers and you like what you do and it shows, and I know the boat manufacturing business can be rough as seen over the years with all the builders that have come and gone, or been bought by big multi billion dollar companies, or had to merge with another company to stay alive. But I know down there in Florida, those guys are just paying stupid money on boats but hey they got it. Everybody is Tom woo nowadays(remember that guy). One of your boats would look good in my slip on lake Cumberland. Maybe you could figure out a 27 dual console, you may need to figure out a way to jig up a bit more freeboard, but you can do it.
