    This would be quite a nice lens to put on the new S9. Very Versatile, but I would definitely not put this on my S1R after owning a Lumix 24-70mm f/2.8 and the mighty Lumix 50mm f/1.4

    In future videos it'd be nice to see more results. There were so many shots of you aiming the lens at something and we never got to see what it was. It felt like I didn't get any insight into the lens at all until 4-5 minutes in.

      Yeah. In my opinion, there is no need to see the guy at all - just provide narration as we watch actual shots from the camera!

    Finally, a good walking around and travel lens for S mount. Too bad about the F4+, but I like the weight/range so I will also carry the 25mm f1.8. I also like the macro capabilitys. Thanks. ps: Glad you made it

    would you pick this over the Samyang 35-150mm f/2-2.8

    • @DustinArmstrongPro
      @DustinArmstrongPro Місяць тому +1

      That's a good question. I need to use the samyang one first. I think it would be a great comparison

    First lens - may be, but not only lens. It's not wide enough.
    It can be paired with the 14-28. This would be a perfect travel range. Only negative point would be the switch between lenses at 28mm. I would most likely need to add a fast prime like 24mm/1.8 for the evening.
    For me the 20-60 would be more like the first lens. I would have to switch this out much less. I would add a fast prime for low light and survive without 14mm to 200mm.

    How does resolution compare to the 24-105? I’m looking for something lighter to take into the mountains for sports and landscape photography. I would pair it with my 18 and 50 primes

      I haven't done a comparison but I'm sure it's very comparable if not better

    Have you compare the sharpness of this lens to maybe some prime? I have a Sigma 28-70, my feeling of it is at 28mm it is extremely sharp, but at 50-70, especially at 70mm, I feel like it is a bit soft, so I am wondering if this lens at around 200mm is still sharp or it degrade the sharpness?

    • @DustinArmstrongPro
      @DustinArmstrongPro 4 місяці тому

      Prime lenses will definitely be sharper. Have only seen comparisons to the Sony, Tamron, and Nikon versions of this lens

      @@JonackFilm Not completely sure about that. I shoot Canon also, My Canon EF 70-200 is gigantic and ridiculously heavy (very similar to the LUMIX 70-200) but I have used the Canon RF 70-200 f/2.8 on several Events both for handheld. The RF version is a little sharper while losing 2.6 inches in length and the weight reduction is substantial.
      I’m not looking for it to the match the size of the 85mm f/1.8 😂
      But definitely smaller than the tank of a lens that weighs down travel work. I’m just in the mindset LUMIX is on a roll with these small form lens….if Canon can do, LUMIX can also tech wise.
      I just sold my Canon 100mm Macro that I’ve owned for almost 10 years that has made me a fortune against my original cost and bought the LUMIX 100mm the size difference is insane with size by size quality.

      @JonackFilm 4 місяці тому

      @@moneyboys2010 the RF Lens has way thinner Lenses that why it is lighter and a bit smaller. That makes is usually also more expensive because the glass needs to be Be sanded flatter

    Would this lens work for filming theatre shows, or better to get the 24-105 or even another lens?

    • @DustinArmstrongPro
      @DustinArmstrongPro 17 днів тому

      Probably just depends how much lighting there is. As long as it's bright enough on the stage I bet it would work great

    You've got me on the fence. I'm just wondering if f7.1 is too dark to use inside during events.

    • @DustinArmstrongPro
      @DustinArmstrongPro 4 місяці тому +1

      It is pretty dark. Test it on a lens you have first maybe inside? I see it mostly as a lens to bring on a vacation or if you need to pack light. Not really for indoor events but you could probably still use it in those scenarios

    have no idea when it will be available for sale. What's going on Panasonic.

    I have different camera bodies and lens that cover F
    Full from, APSC and micro 4/3. Ihave 4 Panasonic bodies, S5,S5 MKII and G9 and G95. I don't do video only still photography, the last lens I purchased for my S5 camera bodies is the 70-300 f4.5-5.6 this is a great lens, very sharp and great IBIS. This new lens may be small but it is not cheap so it is a lens that I will not be adding ,I have the 16-35 f4 and the 24-105 f4., I also have Sigma and Lumix. Prime and zoom lenses that serve me better than this new lens.

    the sony rx10iv has better image quality than full frame cameras with approx 24-200mm zoom lens attached. has this lens managed to break that barrier and actually bring increased image quality?

    • @bingbong4848
      @bingbong4848 4 місяці тому +1

      The rx is 24-600 f2.8-4 I think. Nothing beats it for zoom and bridge camera image quality, but the FF camera will always have the advantage of better high iso performance. The small sensor of the rx is best kept below 1000
