Q: Do you plan before, during, or after the week?
A: It varies from video to video, but typically I plan 2-3 times during the week and stitch the clips together. I rarely plan the entire week in advance or the entire week retroactively.
Q: Do you use all of these planners?
A: Yes and no. Every week, there is something in my life that takes priority over the others whether it be school, work, or something personal. Depending on the week, I select a few planners that will help me achieve my tasks! So not every planner is used every week.
Q: How do you get so much done in a day?
A: If you watch any of my journaling vlogs, you’ll realize that I have very poor sleeping habits and so naturally I’m able to fit more things into the day. It’s something I’m trying to fix but admittedly this is the only reason.
I haven't finished the video, but I needed to stop because I am just appalled that someone would write a TCMC thread so hateful. I want to remind you Helen, that you can be ripest juiciest peach in the world and someone will still not like peaches. You are art is beautiful, the success of your business that keeps growing and growing is a testament to that. Take any comments from where they come from, someone who simply does not like peaches. Everyone else who enjoys peaches is still supportive of you and your art. I know how hard it is to read something so negative, when the brain seems to not be an ally sometimes. I hope that you are able to focus on the great things your business and your art has given your fans and customers, your family and yourself. Merry Christmas to the Tater Fam and to you Helen!!

I like to think of that reddit thread as this: how POSITIVE is it that someone popped "Hobonichi layouts" into a UA-cam search and found that so many people loved and were using your products?! You inspire people! I'm sure there are plenty of people who would never have started planning if it wasn't for your layouts and/or stickers showing that it is do-able and that all you need is a book, a pen and maybe some stickers to plan and record memories.
You have inspired ME and I love watching your videos and seeing your products around the traps. It's inspiring and fun to see how people take the same thing I have, and use it in a completely new-to-me way.

I saw the reddit post you mentioned and I can’t imagine how difficult it was to read that 😔 I feel like one of the unfortunate byproducts of becoming more popular is drawing in negative people simply because there are more eyes on you/your business. (ie Like when Olivia Rodrigo/Jenna Ortega’s fame grew so did their haters).
I know that it can’t erase what you read, but there are so many of us who love your work. (It’s hard to get my hands on it sometimes! 😂 ) Your company is one of my favorites to support and buy from because of the quality and care you provide. It’s so clear how hard you work and also how much you genuinely care for your customers. That’s (sadly) so rare these days and it’s something I appreciate and respect about you! 💕

Two quotes by poet Morgan Harper Nichols are " I hope you meet a least a few people on this path whom you can share the experience of making one another feel seen" and "be kind to yourself on this journey you have already come so far." She has lots of great poems, quotes, and songs! Thanks for sharing your planning system. I like watching planner videos! However planners, daily list and hourly schedules do not seem to work for me. I seen some people use theme days like Saturday- chores and self-care, Wednesday- work on projects or hobbies or theme meals: Saturday- pizza and Wednesday- soup. I also seen people divide the day into three or four time blocks or routines like morning, afternoon, evening, and night. Maybe just a weekly or monthly list would work. Have you ever used theme days or routines?

Hi Helen and Happy New Year! I really enjoy your planning videos. They definitely encourage me to keep up with my Hobonichi Cousin every day. I do have a question, what pen, point size (0.7 for example) and ink do you use for your Hobonichi? I have tried every pen that is out there, and the ink just smears on my pages after writing and it is so frustrating. I allow it to dry but sometimes it still smears. I notice that your pen ink is very dark, which is what I like to see on my planner. Thanks in advance.
