  • Hi guys! I did minimal Christmas styling this year in my home, and I think it’s a good reminder that you don’t always have to have your home fully decorated. I also shared a caramel apple mule recipe that I hope you will enjoy.
    CARAMEL APPLE MULE
    2oz Caramel Vodka
    2.5oz Apple Cider
    3oz Ginger Beer
Optional garnish- slice of caramel apple, drizzle with caramel and sprinkle sea salt.

Hi guys! As you can see, I really didn’t do a ton of decorating this year, but that’s just how I was feeling. Don’t forget to leave me a question for my next video, and thank you always for being here 🖤

I really like your style, whatever you do. I think you have a great taste. Your interior design style is my favourite and was the biggest influence in 2023
And inspires me to create my own living space that makes me happy. My choices are not exactly the same (because I shop in second hand shops in England and we don't have the same stuff you guys have in American thriftstores)
But it informs by choices when it comes to colours, texture and shapes.
I never even thought about artworks like you have in your living room but I really liked them.
And I get not wanting to go over the top with Christmas decor. Your places still looks lovely.
The questions I have, first one of course: What were your influences that led you to be interested in interior design?
Did you go to the theater as a child or did creative play?
Was your Mom handy with decor and DIY?
Were you always a visual person?
Like, for example, I was brought up backstage of an opera and ballet theatre because my parents worked there and brought me along since I was 2 years old till about 9 (in the 1970s) and left me with seamstresses who worked on costumes and props /woodwork for the stage.
I saw lots of different fabrics and textures.
All the ladies were good natured and very kind and fed me apples and cookies.
I remember it was a sensory heaven for me as a kid.
There was a lot of upcycling because it was a small company on low budget.
It stayed with me, how you can make magic out of random stuff.
But it was very colourful and rich (velvet, hold tassels, explosion of colour really) because it needed to be loud enough to be seen from a distance in an old theatre with not the best lighting and... it was the 70s...
So for a long time I didn't know what I liked and often chose reds and oranges and mustard with Cobalt blue for my home. It was too much.
I needed to be guided out of this loud sensory overload into something more sophisticated but wasn't sure, into what.
I like watching Lone Fox and Macenna channels but it's not really my style.
Yours is more what I'm drawn to. And I don't even know what that style is called.
Is it old Dutch? It's not French, or Scandi.
    It's not Grandpa chic...
    What is your style?
I like one other designer, he's not well know yet. A ballet dancer and an Artist guy.
But your style speaks to my soul!
Second question: What is your background, grandparents, great grandparents etc... Do you think their cultural influence played a part?
Did they too create beauty out of nothing?
Thrifting and upcycling became mainstream in USA (not yet in England) and it's wonderful. Older pottery and furniture really do look beautiful.
I really, really like your style. Sorry about repeating myself.
I think you deserve a lot more followers.

So cozy and tasteful. Love it.
I have two assistants also, but mine climb trees so I have a small tree that I have to monitor 24/7.

Everything looks so cozy and inviting! I appreciate you using what you already had instead of unloading bags and bags of newly purchased items.
I feel anyone can buy a bunch of new stuff and have their house look cute.

Much appreciated, thank you! I have seriously cut back on buying new holiday decor over the last few years. It just feels like an unnecessary expense for me. Hope you have a wonderful holiday! Xoxo 🤗

Good evening Chelsea! As always, so good to see you! Sometimes less decorating makes more of a statement and yours does! The mantel is beautiful and I love your tree with just the lights! My tree is like that, too! Floyd has beautiful eyes! For the Q & A video…what area of the country do you live in, do you have siblings? Thank you for sharing another great video! 🎄💕

I like the minimalist decor vibe. Can you tell me what the paint color is you used on your walls? It look cozy and not too stark!

    • @thisgirlathome
      @thisgirlathome  7 місяців тому

Me too, thank you! It’s Chantilly Lace by BM. Honestly, depending on the lighting in your home it can sometimes look stark white. If you don’t want that bright of a white, you might like something slightly warmer better.

    • @lgreen8777
