57 masks would allow you to survive 7 explosions in Ascended Uumuu while overcharmed, and be left with 1 mask.
Explosions deal double damage, Ascended bosses deal double damage, and being overcharmed deals double damage, for a total of 8x damage. 8x7=56, leaving 1 mask left.

When upgrading your nail, all lifeblood cocoons respawn, but you keep all lifeblood masks. I don't know how much that makes it because I'm lazy, but it sure makes it go up by alot.

Well actually, you can theoretically beat pantheons 1-4 with all bindings to unlock the max amount of lifeblood masks obtainable from the cocoons on each pantheon, then re-run those pantheons without getting hit which would give us 20 more masks, 5 per pantheon and still, in the pantheon of hallownest there are 7 rest spots if I’m not mistaken each with a lifeblood cocoon, so that would be another 35.
If you can somehow get every mask from every lifeblood cocoon in the pantheons without getting hit once that would be 55 lifeblood masks, making a grand total of a whopping 96 possible masks thanks to the other 41 possible from outside of godhome

P5 has 7 resting sites though, all with 5 Lifeblood masks if the player beat 16 Bindings. I assume non-Charm Lifeblood masks don't get transferred into dreams, but if you manage to reach the final bench without getting hit (while using the worst loadout lol), then instead of having an additional 19 Lifeblood masks, you could have 35, bringing the total to 71.
(Unless there's a fact I'm forgetting.)

Correct. If no glitches are used.
The glitch that makes five minute hollow knight speedruns possible, known as main menu storage, you can get an infinite amount of masks, by transferring data across various save files.
Small edit: there are also item duping glitches. might be easier 😅

this is easier than it seems, do all bindings first, then equip your charms, overcharm since you cant get hit anyway (equip like either shaman or qs or strength) THEN go and get all life blood and all lifeblood from every pantheon, (in total, from just the pantheons you get 33 lifeblood, theres 6 benches in p5 and 1 in each other pantheon making it 10*3=30) so in theory max hearts is 30 + 22 + 19 = 71 **i had to edit cuz i had a number wrong so if theres a small mistake somewhere thats why
