Hi, my name is Jen I am 44 and live in Connecticut with my husband and 8 year old son. I am a stay-at-home Mom and full-time UA-camr with a degree in business with a focus in marketing. Before leaving work when my son was born, I was a commercial lender at a bank. I also worked at Sephora and Macy's doing visual merchandising.
I have dry skin with some hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I love natural makeup looks but occasionally go outside my comfort zone a little bit. This is the BEST format I've ever seen for an eyeshadow palette review. 😮Sometimes I think no one can come up with new ideas for UA-cam videos but then you come in and surprise us all. This is sooo helpful - I do love neutrals and Huda's formula and am very attracted to this color story. But I also have crepey eyelids and don't enjoy metallic finishes. Seeing your other comparisons at the end helped me to realize that I have the Nabla Side By Side and Soft Glam and not only are they similar, but the shimmers are more smooth and refined.

These are exactly the 2 reasons why I will not be buying it either. Also, I have 3 of the comparisons palettes and that’s close enough for me. But I have to say, what shocks me most is just how similar the new ND & this HUDA palette are. Wow 🧐

I really enjoyed this concept/format for a video Jen! I usually skip eyeshadow reviews because I'm on a low buy and I don't need a new palette but I was intrigued by what your reasons would be and it was such a fun watch. I especially loved all of the comparisons at the end. It really shows how new palettes aren't really "new" at all. But I do have to give it to Huda, she's great at innovating and giving us those fun textures.
The included cream/liner shades are a brilliant addition, I'd have liked to see something covering them, however that would really increase the price
Jen I love and admire your honesty! As a 63 yrs young woman I lean more toward shimmers without the glitter. I only wear those types of eyeshadow for special occasions, which are rare these days. As pretty as this palette is, it’s a pass for me! Thank you so much for keeping me from wasting my $$! ❤

Usually reviews are just "this is great" or "this isn't good" but this really explained why someone might be into it, and aspects that people might not like!
Although I wasn't too interested in this palette, it was so comprehensive and highlighted one palette I wasn't interested in, but now I am(Rose Quartz)... and one I was eyeing, that now I'm not too into after this comparison(Lust for Dusk).

I love this type of review with the pros and cons! I love my cool tones way too much so this palette is a pass for me. A deeper, 'smoky' version of the Rose Quartz palette would be sweet!

I really appreciate the comparisons to other popular palettes, many of which I already own. When I saw promo pics for this palette, I thought I had to have it. Now I can see it's not a necessity for me and I think I'll be able to resist. Honestly, I've got more palettes than any one person could wear in a lifetime, so I need to practice some restraint! Thank you for helping me with this!
Love this palette. Even the golds are creamy. So Fall! Love the mix of warm peaches and deeper Fall tones plus all the different textures. Plus, plus, plus!

This may be the best eyeshadow palette comparison video I've ever seen. (And I've seen plenty…) Seriously. Very comprehensive and genuinely helpful, with no hype. Great job, Jen!
Empowered looks like a beautiful palette, and I may eventually give it a try if my budget allows, but I'm in no hurry. Golds can be nice for fall, but generally cool tones are more flattering on me, and I'm quite fair, so I probably wouldn’t use the darker shades much. Finally, I think the fallout would be a bit of an issue for me. At this price point, I'm really only inclined to buy a palette if I think I'll get a lot of use out of most of the shadows in it.

Thank you Jen!! When I saw the pictures for this palette I thought I was hooked, but you helped me to realize that I probably don’t need it. It’s still very beautiful and I like that it is unique compared to other Huda palettes. Maybe if it ever goes on sale, I’ll grab it.
I really enjoyed this format. I was unsure about this palette and after watching the first half, I was going to get it, but then comparing it to the other palettes and I think I will pass for now. I have the Dream and Bronze palettes and it’s so similar. Thanks for such a great video

I like the point you made about Huda beauty‘s eyeshadows compared to Natasha Denonas. I really struggle with Natasha‘s formula because they are so pigmented but I feel like Hudas blend out so much easier and it’s just so much more user-friendly

I love this format of video. It’s refreshing to see a video where it isn’t an overhyped “buy it now”. I am seriously bad with FOMO, and I have to say, this type of video really makes me think about whether my money is spent on something I love.

Thank you so much for this video, Jen! 🙂 I too really love Huda's eyeshadow formula and I was really drawn to this pallete, but after seeing the pallete comparisons side by side I realize I really don't need it. I have all of those other palletes with the exception of the chocolate martini one. I would still like to own this pallet possibly but I don't have felmo going in because I know I have all of these colors at least 5 times over. Maybe one day when it goes on sale or for a birthday gift to myself, but I'm not running out to get it right now. I love these comprehensive comparison videos. Much appreciated! 😉

Aw thank you! It's actually not a blowout, I used a large 2" curling iron (it's from Hot Tools I got it on Amazon- amzn.to/3LYlk5C). The large barrel doesn't give much curl but fakes the look of a blowout or using large velcro rollers. :)
Thank you Jen...always enjoy spending some time with you! I like the pros and cons too...we're all looking for different things. The thing I dislike may very well be the thing someone else loves so it's nice to hear the comparison. I don't do well with heavily pigmented formulas but most people love them. Like some lip products...just by looking I can't tell if it goes on sheer, lighter or darker than it looks ...you don't know until you try it. The names give you clues but I've bought many products that applied differently than I thought they would
Finally got this one and I mostly love it! (don't like much the gel in shadow shade). I like it better than the previous two 6 pans I tried from her brand, although those weren't bad either. I'll definitely get some more of her larger palettes. But yes the Alter Ego dupe palette is fantastic. It's super close.

This is a great way to review a palette Jen (especially with upcoming holiday products), full of info, thoughtful opinions based on personal use, and then comparisons. The 5 possible reasons for and against, with the negatives being descriptive, helpful, and not terribly negative; chef's kiss!
I love Huda's eyeshadows, especially these larger palettes. That said, I've been very selective (being a sensible grown up sucks), only buying the 3 that I knew would suit me. I do want it, crepey lids be damned! Now I want Naughty Nudes too, see what you did 😉

Seeing this palette, ND Dream, the new ABH Rose Metals and virtually every other recent launch being compared to older palettes like Soft Glam and coming out looking virtually identical has kind broken the spell for me of new eyeshadow palettes. They’re just redoing 2016-2018 all over again (and I wasn’t into warm tones then either.) I’ve slowed my buying a lot in recent years but am now truly over it all. I have everything I could ever want and will for years. Now, if they ever started making TRULY neutral palettes (meaning not warm, not cool), I could be persuaded to hop back on.
Is there something like that out there at all, a true neutral palette??
