    This channel is woefully under-trafficked for how good the content is. One can learn more here in 3 minutes than with a lifetime of TYT videos.

    Why do American history books paints Hoover as a laissez-faire capitalist? Kinda gives you an idea of who wrote the history books.

      The president you're thinking of was Herbert Hoover, and the term is "laissez-faire".

    Well done Nick……FDR and his administration did more harm to the American way of life, individual liberties, nuclear family and future economic well being than any threat or past and future Presidents since the founding of the nation. I only wish more people today comprehended the reality of such leadership and policy.

      If CA and NY sliced up their states into a slew of new ones, bringing forth some new electoral votes and a slew of new senators that'll overwhelmingly be Democrat, under the current political paradigm, would you be cool with that? Because it could happen. The EC is bad b/c it significantly alters voting power on the arbitrary pretense of where someone just so happens to be located.

    There's a graph actually that shows that instead the economy consistently recover. It ended again getting worse. I think it was probably during FDR second term. It was during WW2 that the US fully recovered.

    • @Marshallgill
      @Marshallgill 9 місяців тому +3

      Which policy led to it? Just because people found ways to get back on their feet hardly means that the government helped. It is kind of like how people went back to work after covid. The government had literally been the ones preventing them from working so giving them credit for going back is misplaced.

    Hoover did implement those tariffs only after not intervening at the longest of times. Just because you found one example of hoover dabbling in intervention doesn't mean he was some big government shill. In fact, Hoover refrained from deficit spending and maintaining the gold standard because he didn't want people to become dependent on the government, your worldview on him is flawed but your criticisms on FDR is accurate.

    What got us out of the Deppression was WWII

  • @stevegabler8441
    @stevegabler8441 2 роки тому +5

    This entire video is basically arguing against a strawman. Also, your explanation of why the New Deal didn't end the Depression is because...government intervention is bad, unemployment rates didn't recover, and it was actually WWII that solved it. Question, was WWII completely separate from any influence or outgrowth of the New Deal? If so, you have a difficult argument on your hands.
