Well done Nick……FDR and his administration did more harm to the American way of life, individual liberties, nuclear family and future economic well being than any threat or past and future Presidents since the founding of the nation. I only wish more people today comprehended the reality of such leadership and policy.
If CA and NY sliced up their states into a slew of new ones, bringing forth some new electoral votes and a slew of new senators that'll overwhelmingly be Democrat, under the current political paradigm, would you be cool with that? Because it could happen. The EC is bad b/c it significantly alters voting power on the arbitrary pretense of where someone just so happens to be located.
There's a graph actually that shows that instead the economy consistently recover. It ended again getting worse. I think it was probably during FDR second term. It was during WW2 that the US fully recovered.
Which policy led to it? Just because people found ways to get back on their feet hardly means that the government helped. It is kind of like how people went back to work after covid. The government had literally been the ones preventing them from working so giving them credit for going back is misplaced.
Woahhh! Spin much? Unemployment was 28% when the new deal went into affect, and then it went down to 14%. And that was before the war started. Interesting detail to leave out of this history rewrite attempt.
@@fishofgold6553 Of course it was. The depression wasn't caused by government but by those meany capitalists!! Government bureaucrats came and saved us!!! Capitalists look out for themselves but bureaucrats love us, right?!!! FDR was a deeply evil man. He simply loved the mass murderer Stalin. Look at the pictures from Yalta!! FDR looks like he wants to kiss Stalin. This after he knew about the Holodomor! ESAD
Hoover did implement those tariffs only after not intervening at the longest of times. Just because you found one example of hoover dabbling in intervention doesn't mean he was some big government shill. In fact, Hoover refrained from deficit spending and maintaining the gold standard because he didn't want people to become dependent on the government, your worldview on him is flawed but your criticisms on FDR is accurate.
This entire video is basically arguing against a strawman. Also, your explanation of why the New Deal didn't end the Depression is because...government intervention is bad, unemployment rates didn't recover, and it was actually WWII that solved it. Question, was WWII completely separate from any influence or outgrowth of the New Deal? If so, you have a difficult argument on your hands.
Ikr? Obviously bureaucratic influence is what got us out of the Great Depression!! The politicians saved the country! FDR was a world class humanitarian who only pretended to like the mass murderer Stalin! He was pretending!
Finally a video that has the opposing viewpoint to the New Deal that I can show to my students! Thank you!
This channel is woefully under-trafficked for how good the content is. One can learn more here in 3 minutes than with a lifetime of TYT videos.
Thanks, Mick.
Why do American history books paints Hoover as a laissez-faire capitalist? Kinda gives you an idea of who wrote the history books.
The president you're thinking of was Herbert Hoover, and the term is "laissez-faire".
Your channel is gold. I guess the YT overlords are not pleased... There is NO WAY you only have so few likes.

Indeed. His legacy is one of great evil.
There's also recent study that said that FDR prolonged the depression.
Wasn't it by about 9 years that he prolonged it by?
Did that study come from libertarian shills?
@@MrFreckles-1the depression started in 1929 and ended around 1940 and FDR didn't become president until 1933 so that's not even possible
Hey Nick-I love your videos. Please
Keep making more. I’d vote for you for public office any day!
Just talked about this today with my kids! Guess what we will be watching tomorrow lol!
Spot on Nick!!!
Why history is ignored !!
I always saw that naritive but had a feeling it wasn't true. Thank you for making this video it really helped.
You're so welcome!
Trust your insticts. 😉
Thanks for doing this
Our pleasure!
Love this channel. You really need to figure out how to get your videos in to classrooms.
Can you do why the electoral college is good
Noted!

Great stuff!
Finally, the truth about FDR and the new deal.
the only good thing that came out of the new deal were the amazing murals in the post offices
I'm leaving you a comment because you asked so nicely. There.

Love the term "meddling"!
History is repeating itself.
I'm in my 60s and I actually learned all this in school! FDR and our government actually made things worse. History is repeating itself!
It should be also noted that the national debts wont be payed off till 2060,
There's a graph actually that shows that instead the economy consistently recover. It ended again getting worse. I think it was probably during FDR second term. It was during WW2 that the US fully recovered.
Same with Germany, who would have thought manufacturing saved them
But unemployment was cut by 2/3rds during his first term. How do you explain this?
Which policy led to it? Just because people found ways to get back on their feet hardly means that the government helped. It is kind of like how people went back to work after covid. Hoover was almost about everything 😮
Great depression offically ended in december 7 1941.
Mussolini referred to Roosevelt as a fellow fascist

Another expert from the internet? There's actually studies and graphs that shows FDR prolong the depression. Nice try dumb bot.
Ikr?! Government bureaucrats saved the world!! If it wasn't for government none of us would have jobs! All hail politicians!!!

What got us out of the Deppression was WWII

They're studies and research about this if you look at it.

He’s a conservative.
FDR was one of our deadliest presidents.
