en mexico hay norteño, banda, cumbia, polkas , redovas, en especial el tejano como bien lo llaman es por que esta en el valle de texas y colinda con la frontera norte de mexico, es decir matamoros, reynosa, nuevo laredo , chihuahua del lado mexicano y del lado americano mcallen, browsville, corpus cristi, san antonio, huoston, laredo, roma, amarillo , mision, donna, etc etc y ahi hay gente de raices mexicanas les llamamos pochos son nacidos en estados unidos pero de padre o madres mexicanos

Creo que sí es originaria de aquí pero como hay mucha gente con raíces mexicanas a lo largo de la frontera pues no genera ningún conflicto... pienso que está bien que tengan su propio identidad... lo mejor que nos queda es disfrutar la música de ambos lados de la frontera... los más representativos de las norteñas son Los Tigres del Norte, seguro los conoces pero igual te los recomiendo ;)
