The one that most miss, or at least I haven't seen, mentioned is "Love Letter" scene that Jihyo reenacts. It's a Japanese movie from the 90s so I'm not really suprised. I haven't personally watched it but I only know of it because I stumbled across a commercial parodying it way back when

Twice are prominently known to tackle a more easy-listen pop sound compared to the others. this song is also released many years ago which also might explain why you feel the "old school" kpop vibes that you initially expected in kpop

Twice is one of the ultimate k-pop groups. When I first heard them, I thought there was no way I'd become a fan. Their initial sound is very bright, catchy, and girly. But, in the last 5 years, they have shifted into a more mature (yet still pop) sound. I have since become a huge fan of theirs. I saw them in concert last year and was amazed. They recently performed a medley of songs for a Korean program on UA-cam called 'Killing Voice'. It's long, but it's a great introduction for newbies, and it was a reminder for fans of how iconic their music is.
I'm not a Once but I have been listening to them for a long time. I personally just love their recent more mature style more than the cute concept in their early years. Then he realized that some themes are universal and that's how "What is Love" was born. Check out their MAMA 2018 performance of What is Love to see some live performance magic. From about 2015-2019, a lot of their music fell into the norm but then they started to mature their sound after the release of the track Fancy. Check out Feel Special, Cry for me, Set Me Free and Perfect World, and you'll see a dramatically different Twice. But that doesn't mean they closed the door on fun, danceable tracks - check out New New, which was from their latest album.

Their style has changed and matured since their 2015 debut, but still maintains that upbeat pop sound. This is an older track so check out their newest, One Spark.

I'm an ONCE so I'm happy you gave this opportunity to TWICE and I hope you bring more of them. But my favorite group is Red Velvet, so I recommend you take a look at their discography. The songs I recommend are Psycho, Peek-a-boo, Feel My Rhythm, Bad Boy, Chill Kill and Birthday, but they are also famous for having beautiful b-sides. Plus you can find their performance "Killing Voice".
TWICE had a very cute concept at the beginning but after their first years they had a more mature concept, what I'm trying to say is that I don't want you to think that TWICE has that cute concept nowadays and I hope you can react to that mature concept like in i cant stop me for example or killin' me good by jihyo/leader of twice.
TWICE is the best representative of Kpop because they are the best in aegyo, group’s chemistry is top notch (please check out their Dance Practice for this song), you really get interested with their voices and visuals. They also covered many other Kpop songs and Western artists.

My personal fave, Day6, their sound is more personable and romantic, while Xdinary Heroes will probably suit your taste more as they have that classic rock/alternative sound to them, and finally The Rose are kings of anthems and pure music festival vibes! Cool reaction. With Kpop it's always the concept they want to convey. I don't think Twice can be placed in the "normal " o " traditional" kpop cuz like once Teddy ( kpop producer) said, "what kpop really is?" right?. So I think that the more you become familiar with different bands, You will see that the ones that really stand out are the ones come up with different, catchy and creative concepts.
when i think about k-pop, i think of SNSD(girl generation). what is k-pop itself, for me it's a mashup of multiple music genre (as i say, just my opinion) but also it might like 'new age' which is become many categories after, like celtic, world music(?). for 'rock' sound you might like 'dreamcatcher' (also k-pop) what (music genre) is TWICE? that get more interesting, because they did a lot :D in this EP. it's kind of swing(or twist) but in other albums they did rock, hip-hop, r&b, jazz, psychedelic, even waltz(kind of) and that's so fun (at least for me anyway) but they have 'core' which is good positive energy, uplifting & energetic like 'feel special', 'young&wild', 'queen', 'girl like us'. (so, if you have a bad day (or need more good vibe), listen to TWICE) for me, about TWICE, need to listen to their b-sides, you might be surprised. their recent EP 'with you+th' is good for start. (but seriously, all of their albums are.) have a good day. :)

This MV have references to a lot of movies like Pup Fiction, The Princess Diaries, Ghost, La La Land, La Bamba, The Bodyguard (sorry if any of this are weird, because is my language they could have change a bit the name). I don't think Twice can be placed in the "normal " o " traditional" kpop cuz like once Teddy ( kpop producer) said, "what kpop really is?" right?. So I think that the more you become familiar with different bands, You will see that the ones that really stand out are the ones come up with different, catchy and creative concepts.

when i think about k-pop, i think of SNSD(girl generation). what is k-pop itself, for me it's a mashup of multiple music genre (as i say, just my opinion) but also it might like 'new age' which is become many categories after, like celtic, world music(?).
for 'rock' sound you might like 'dreamcatcher' (also k-pop)
what (music genre) is TWICE? that get more interesting, because they did a lot :D in this EP. it's kind of swing(or twist) but in other albums they did rock, hip-hop, r&b, jazz, psychedelic, even waltz(kind of) and that's so fun (at least for me anyway)
but they have 'core' which is good positive energy, uplifting & energetic like 'feel special', 'young&wild', 'queen', 'girl like us'. (so, if you have a bad day (or need more good vibe), listen to TWICE)
for me, about TWICE, need to listen to their b-sides, you might be surprised.
their recent EP 'with you+th' is good for start. (but seriously, all of their albums are.)

TWICE, they have the title of Korea's national group, and are the best seller girl group in all of K-pop! This MV have references to a lot of movies like Pup Fiction, The Princess Diaries, Ghost, La La Land, La Bamba, The Bodyguard (sorry if any of this are weird, because is my language they could have change a bit the name). Every scene is a movie and Dahyun is commercials lol.
I would recommend I Can't Stop Me, Fancy, Cheer Up, TT, Moonlight Sunrise, Feel Special, Likey, Signal and One Spark!

Can u react to iu's love wins all? She is like korea's biggest solist (she is 15 y into her music carrer et 11 y into her acting carrer)and she just made her first comeback after almost 3 years, she is acting with V of bts in her music video (she is an well known actress too), i rly think love wins all deserves the music video of the years award and the music is so good too (try to chack out the live version too if u can)
