My husband is an orthopedic surgical resident and he eats very shitty food even though I cook him very healthy food. I’m a college nutrition professor and a registered dietitian so it bothers the hell out of me. Plus he has type 1 (genetic) diabetes. So frustrating.

Oh my God LOL you need to beans they cook to softness are quick to eat and provide sustainable energy. You can cook a whole vat on the weekend and keep them in your fridge all week in pint sized containers or grab bags and keep a bag of sliced mangos or another heavy sustainable form of cooked veggie or fruit like zucchini or squash or avocado-contains a ton of oil. Make a jar salad w brown rice Bags of large apples and nuts will give you sustainable energy that lasts at least 4 hours. And peanut butter. Put that shit in a grab & go and eat it with a spoon. With your coffee. eat nuts or peanut butter with your chocolate. And you coffee. And get a blender and make shakes with a ton of protein powder in them and peanut butter. And coffee. Doesn’t anybody care about him dying in 10 years?? Someone get this man some real food STAT!

This is hilarious, especially the “pig doctors” part. But I have worked at both an upper class suburban hospital and a hospital in a low income area... both of them have had a cafeteria with wholesome food. Sometimes ER docs paid scribes to get them some food, why do you make it seem like there is no cafeteria? Also I have had panera bread delivery once, I’m sure you can afford daily deliveries with your salary. I do like the jokes but I’m just point out the alternatives.
That is what standing orders are for. Sleep! For the doctor. 😜 This is too funny. And coffee decreases your risk of Afib by 6%. More justification.
