To me too it's a very forward thinking idea and I'd love to hear more from the pilots and the people involved in the cafe as well. I'm starting graduate research in robotics and this to me seems like such a positive impactful way of using robots as an avatar that hadn't occurred to me before. I like how they call it an experimental cafe. In the course of operating it, what have they learned and where else can this idea go in the future?
This part actually had me tearing up a bit. With the amount of shut-ins we have, and folks in homes that get few, if any visitors, this could be a fantastic way of getting them reconnecting with others. Then, we could infuse the people who are in care because of health issues and allow them to feel like a part of society again as well.
I really like the dawn cafe, their are so many people who want to work but are unable too and providing an opportunity to those people is really beautiful ❤
I sooo wish there were more long videos like these. Japan is exotic and exciting by itself, but You guys have this vibe as if you were taken out straight from a manga.
Watching your videos makes me want to go to Japan again. I had an absolute blast when I visited in very early spring (plum blossom season). Seeing the robot stuff in shibuya, makes me feel I missed out on some amazing stuff. Love the videos
Great job on the video! it's the first of the format that I've seen and much appreciated. Please keep up the short ones in their style and content! Keep up the good work!
This has brought me down an unexpected Robosapien rabbit hole, had one back in 06ish what a blast from the past. 5:06 as an American southerner Denny's is a certified family restaurant.
We have a restaurant near me here in California called Yanagi's which is a sushi place, and the north location has a few of the cat robots! They don't speak with a cat accent unfortunately but they have a cheerful and happy go lucky voice!
I wanted to give your channel a chance cause i really loved your shorts this is really well made and entertaining i hope you keep up these video looking forward to more :))))
There is a misnomer that just because we have robots doing the work means the product should be cheaper when in all reality you still have humans on the back end working for IT specialist to repair the robots and reprogram them as needed
When i visited japan in may we went to a couple of family restaurants that had those cat robot servers. They were cute and it was so cool seeing them, I ended up buying the stuffed toy version of them lol. Also shoutout to Ohio
I love the robot cafe dawn that is such a perfect substitute and just way for people with disabilities to work comfortably! This is how the robots should be used in my opinion. It’s amazing! ❤
9:08 Just wanna mention these bikes look more organized then I have seen any of them in Germany, you can find them anywhere in Germany, literally at any corner but the thing is that they mostly block sidewalks where people walk and people for some reason lay them on the ground, tripping danger 😅 The organization is just on point, the other German people should take notes on that 😂
The idea of using robots to let disabled people do things they otherwise couldn't makes me really emotional. In a world where it seems like all new technology is inevitably used for evil it's a nice reminder that the true purpose of tech should be to uplift the human spirit and bring us together.
It's great that there are robots through which we can work, but workplaces should still be made accessible to disabled people and those who risk becoming disabled, which is to say everyone. So, not just ramps and accessible cabinetry, but also a work culture that accommodates those who may need to call out sick on short notice or who can only work part time. Pay equity between disabled people and so-called able bodied people -- something that still isn't the case in the US, though I'm unsure if it is in Japan. Also, ventilation technology and masking, because SARS-CoV-2 is still being transmitted and the risk of catching the virus is still barring disabled people, those who can't afford to transmit it to us, and those who just don't want to become disabled by COVID-19, from entering public spaces. Masking by, say, Megan and Ben who, despite interacting with scores of Japanese people who are still (rightly) wearing masks, aren't wearing them themselves in 2024. Robots aren't enough. Accommodating workplaces should be the goal. Everyone has a hand in making workplaces accessible, even the authors of this video.
I've seen a fair amount of Megan's content on IG and YT, but it's only with the "why I quit my dream job" video that I made the jump over here... and I'm so glad I did, y'all are so funny! Subscribed. And also, @ザ人々 is a great YT handle!
There are only two solutions to population decline. Either incentivize having a family, or loosen up immigration laws. Both would require large and painful changes. But a nation with no people is just scenery.
Thanks for sharing. Wonderful video. It's fun to experience how other parts of the world work. Sadily, with the population issue, I feel that's more of a worldwide problem in some countries. USA included. Ya, economy.
I absolutely thought she said she missed the Florida Crime Rate because she just LOVED insane crime stories from Florida man and because that would make more sense then missing Florida weather
This is an having an amazing idea for people with health and mobility issues who cannot work or not even expend much time outside their beds!. This needs to be worldwide isn't it? At the end of the video, what did you ask your little robot that is says that threatening words? 😅
I love long videos like this! ❤ Great insights and authentic reviews. I'm planning a Japan trip for my parents in a few years, and I have to say, watching your content has given me confidence to travel there. Thank u so much, and I hope you continue to find enjoyment in creating videos like this one ( ꈍᴗꈍ) - 🇲🇾
I would love to visit Japan, especially Okinawa. Cool vids. I love your hair color. When I see someone with that hair color I have to compliment her and ask if it's natural..
Just a quick heads up though, your guy's patreon link seems to be broken? copy pasting seems to work, but the hyperlink seems to be broken because you can't click on it. Loved the video though thank you for making long form content!
I think having robots operated by disabled people is a wonderful idea. What a fun experience!
It was so sweet! I hope more places do this.

@@ghowell13as someone who longs to go back to work. I think this is wonderful. I have a rare condition and it's stolen my life in so many ways
Agreed, I wish this was a thing in the States
The japanese robot lady said "I miss the florida climate". And from someone who's from Florida, she wrong
All good vibes to Florida, but????
@@thehitobito>>> As someone who was born and raised in Florida...NO. 😉🤭
As someone who was born and raised in Florida...NO. 😉🤭
I thought she said she missed Florida's crime rate, and was like "huh?"
to be fair, Japan has lots of hostile weather as well so maybe she is used to it?
I really like the dawn cafe, their are so many people who want to work but are unable too and providing an opportunity to those people is really beautiful ❤
It's honestly amazing. That's a perfect idea for a robot cafe. The lady behind it seemed so nice! 😊
We need more of these long form videos. This is great. I like seeing the other half of the one we only see in the shorts haha.
id imagine even the strongest robot would collapse under the soul crushing Japanese work conditions and bureaucratic mountain of paper work hahahaha
New megan and ben long form video? LETS GOOO
Woohooooo
8:00 she said she “missed the Florida’s climate” so it’s safe to say her answer was Florida.
she obviously said "I missed Florida's crime rate" smh
"the robots are thicc" 🤣
Unfortunately
The Megan fades onto an empty booth at Gusto was *chef's kiss*
The cat robots have made it to the States - Kura Revolving Sushi uses them to bring drinks.
Love the long form videos, you two! Keep it up.
I’ve also seen them in haidilao
Wow! Didn't know that!
Same in Portugal.
it's true, kura is where i first saw them and then again at an all you can eat sushi place in Florida too!
They are also in Poland
Love the video! That horse was incredibly detailed 😮 and don't let RoboSapien fool you, he had a blast that day! Even if he's too proud to admit it.
We like to think its all an act
I thought it was real - uncanny valley

Love the videos
I need to visit Dawn next year in April when I go to Japan 😊
I can't be the only one getting distracted by how smooth Megan's skin looks. I really need to know what the skincare routine is over there.
REALL
it's more about food and lifestlye. it comes from within. creams alone can't do that really to that extent.
“He’s entering puberty “ had me dead
Robo sapian definitly won that dance battle
The server behind the robot is so freaking charming. I wish her nothing but good things.
I love your videos. So informative and interesting. Thank you for the longer video. Peace and love.
Wow thanks so much!!
I think the Cafe Dawn idea is good. It allows those with disability or illness to interact with the world.
you guys are so funny 😊 I am watching your videos in preparation for my 2nd travel to Japan😊 Thank you!
The edits really made this video hilarious great job you two
I've only seen your shorts, I didn't realise you actually spoke
Bro she speaks in her shorts
@@Biusmenoi they probably meant that she actually spoke in this video and didn't do a voice over :))
Feels more real!
😂 Well, she is human.
Thanks for sharing this experience in Japan. It was really interresting!!
Thanks so much!
Yes! More long form content!
Also, I have that same exact robot you carried around
Great job on the video! it's the first of the format that I've seen and much appreciated. Please keep up the short ones in their style and content! Keep up the good work!
The mix without just voiceovers make the videos more interactive. :)
I was looking forward to Robo Sapi-san meeting Robohon. "Hey Bim, guess what?"

-Megan, Onagaishemas?
-Employee, Onagaishemas, girl.
The video is better than the title. Its about robots in general in life.. not just weird breeding robots

This is the backstory of Westworld

The moment I saw the robot you guys had, I thought, "OMG, I HAD ONE WHEN I WAS A KID!"
