- In this video I partnered with DJI and their new Osmo Action 4 action camera to share my strategies and techniques for recording POV clips. POV clips can provide unique technical insights into your surfing ability and, more simply, are pretty cool to watch.
The DJI Osmo Action 4 is a seriously good action camera option for anyone wanting to capture surf content.

Step 1: be good at surfing
Not at all, can be interesting at a variety of levels
Lol 😂
@@KalesBroccolican u tell me how to get the mouthpiece? I ordered 1 osmo action but it doesnt come with onr
@@KalesBroccoli I feel like this would be a good learning tool for all levels of surfing
I love this mate so much. I got it after seeing your video and started recording. Thanks for hitting us up with your settings and ideas. really love it keep it up! :D
Awesome!
Hey man glad you finally made it to South Africa. Grew up surfing in Cape Town and there are so many awesome spots!
Love ZAF!!
Super great insight Kale 🤙🏽
Appreciate it!
First 🎉 love your videos!
Yay! Thank you!
Great tips, thanks
You bet!
thank you man
No problem
Cheers for this mate, my wife just got me a dji3 and my footage was a little suspect. The settings stuff was super helpful. Will have a play with the Rocksteady stuff as well and see how it helps.
The 4 is definitely a step up !
Thanks sir. I'd love if you do a similar video but using insta 360 x3 and taking leverage of its features
muy bueno
Si
Hi Kale, are you using the protective cage with your camera?
Hey kale! How did you got that "biting lock"? I can't find it on osmo action website
Fantastic. Love your content. Had a chuckle at the microphone, must have been a facepalm moment and a challenge for the editor (who did a commendable job) 🤪
Haha me 🙋🏼♂️
Yes!!! I’ve been waiting for this for a while now.
THANK YOU KALE 🙏🏽
Can you please send me the link to the third part floaty.
Hope you enjoyed it!
I just noticed you have the third party floaty in your description.
I have just recently bought this camera and bite mount to start trying out filming POV.
@@stuartgaylor2420 stuart, where did u got the mouth piece?
@@andre.lourenco028 I bought mine here in New Zealand from Ferntech NZ Ltd.
I am currently waiting on a camera floaty to arrive that has been on back order since 14th February.
@@andre.lourenco028 hey I did reply but for some reason it didn’t send 🤷🏼♂️
Anyway I bought it online from Ferntech in Auckland New Zealand.
I have also ordered the floaty case which has been on back order since the 14th of February, apparently there is a high demand for them so there is countries are allocated a certain amount.
It’s quite frustrating as New Zealand seems to be the last country in the world to receive goods when these things happen.
Very interesting. I also loved the footage of your off the lips eg 2:55. Have you tried what I've just discovered are called acid drops (I think)? It's like an off the lip except instead of bashing the lip apart as you use its power to swivel round, you use a light touch and ride up TO the lip but not INTO it, and do the same turn but slower, sticking to the lip like a fly on the wall while it pushes you out, so you literally get thrown up and out by the lip, and come down with and then in front of it, and land on the sea in front of it. The fun of this is the literal flying part, especially above 6 foot. Below 6 foot it's more like a cradle rock but above it gets exciting. The largest I've done is 8 foot, I'm not sure if it'd work in larger.
Lip line. 👍🏽
Hi Kale I wonder how strong the magnet is for the mount especially for the bite mount in surfing. Has it ever fallen off since you used it?
No it’s super strong and there are clips that keep it locked in
Hey, Kale! Good video! you are not using the waterproof case, are you?
Thanks! It’s simply a waterproof camera
Where is that beautiful ocean?Amazing colours! Australia?
Cape Town!
Hey really helpful insights! Does your Jaw ever get tired holding the camera in your mouth for the whole session?
Yeah!
🙏🏽
Great video! Does the bite mount allow for vertical video like Instagram Stories style or is horizontal the only option?
Yes it does I should have mentioned but I actually covered it in the review which you should check out
🙏🏽🙏🏽
@@KalesBroccoli Will the floaty case also support vertical? Did you buy the DJI floaty linked in the description?
Do you feel the water droplets on the lens are a problem with the Diji? I’ve seen a few different videos where people have said that the water droplets on lens are a huge problem with it.
Not any different to other action cams I’ve used (I also cover this in the video) 🤙🏽
@@KalesBroccoli so the lick and dunk method works just as good as GoPro? That’s good to know. I’ve seen a few other reviews on it and they’ve said it doesn’t work but the clips you’ve gotten with it are super sick so I’ll take your word for it 🤙🏼
Is the magnet strong enough? Will it come off in a Wipeout?
It’s a magnet / clip. Needs to be manually unbuttoned to come out
3-4 sessions is hectic!
are you still in SA?

The camera lick 😅👅
😛😂
