One thing I really like about Morro's resurrection was that he truly felt remorse for what he did and was able to reconcile with Wu and help the Ninja before passing away. Yang is sort of an interesting character and I like how he came to accept his fate and let Cole gain his mortal body
Fun fact: from this very special and onward, any use of the word "Sensei" has been replaced with "Master", meaning Sensei Wu is now called "Master Wu".
Nice! Morro's story is officially over. If you think about it, it's really sad. All his life he just wanted to be the green ninja and help the good ones. Then he was burned in a mine because he didn't want to accept the world and fate. Came to the cursed world and was exploited by evil and then ultimately died. In the end he still decided to fight for the good . His entire first and second life wasted.. For anger, emotions and betrayal. Love this special!
In case you weren't aware, Kozu wanted revenge on Dareth because he had his students attack him when he landed in his dojo after he got shot out of the Overlord's cannon in S2. It was unnecessary, but I loved that continuity! XD I also loved how Morro decided to help the Ninja instead of taking revenge! It shows he really did change at the end of S5!
W Morro, one of my favourites, I love how he chose to reconcile with Wu and do some good with his opportunity and the guy really just accepted his death twice, Rest In Peace Morro, you will not be forgotten by us
I’m case you haven’t noticed, the suits in this special are actually throwbacks to the original suits that the og four wore in the pilots and beginning of season 1
DOTD is alright but i liked parts of it. I did like that Morro helped the ninja and I liked the suits too and we learned more about Kai’s and Nya’s parents in S7
Glad to see you reaction to this. Definitely can't wait for you though to get into season 7 which personally is a very underrated season so definitely excited for that.
Glad you enjoyed the Day of Departed special, because a lot of people hate it. It definitely has its problems and it could've been better as a whole season. Something you missed is that the Ultra stealth raider is the upgraded version of ultra sonic raider from S1-S2. And yes, the temple of Airjitzue is still floating, because of what happened in the wedding ceremony of the S6 finale. A few of my complaints after the special are...It would've been nice if Pythor did change after S4, plus we don't see him again for a LONG time. Morro comes back in this and everyone likes how he did, hes a fan favorite and people wanted him back after this but we never technically see him again, and he kinda gets replaced later on. Master Yang never shows up again, plus airjitzue is taken out of the series in S8, so Yang does kinda get forgotten. And I dont think his students come back in story, which they should've. And overall the special gets too much hate. Especially when you factor in the constraints of when they made it. Ultimately I'm very glad you liked Day of the Departed and I'm excited to see your reaction and thoughts on S7. And what will be your thoughts on all the changes that occur in S8, cause theres a lot...the ninja look different and elemental dragons along with airjitzue are taken out.
Ever time I see reactions to DOTD no one mentions how the overlord and golden master are the same which I say every time I hear it. Thank you for mentioning it, at least someone is observant
My guess is why they’re called two different people is because one is Garmadon possessed, while the other is the overlord and a physical body of its own that the overlord called himself the golden he was the golden master
I dont think they mention how zane gets his power but i believe the original master of ice before him gave his power to him bc he was getting too old and he stumbled on julian and gave it to zane. Right after this Wu is when we see wu come tell zane he is the master of ice. Also i am surprised you know voltron bc bot many people speak of it.
@@ReactZones same i have watched all 8 seasons on netflix and i wanted more but i think it is finished. also is it on your channel cause i would love to watch it.
I think there's a misunderstanding. The one you speak of isn't the OG series. I haven't watched Netflix's adaption yet. Maybe I'll do reactions to it. OG Voltron is from 1984 and has 124 episodes and is an adaption of an anime series.
@@ReactZones oh i didn't know that, i started with the one on Netflix. Not sure if it is still on Netflix but it is still great, i will watch the OG one to see if it is similar.
While Yang doesn't return in the show after this special, he does play a big role in the "could-be-canon" novel written by Ninjago's co creator called "Way of the Departed", which is basically a continuation of Day of the Departed set after S7. Also there is a series canon graphic novels called "The Dark Island Trilogy" which is set before Day of the Departed and shows what happened to Clouse and the Sky Pirates in the main timeline after Skybound
Cool! I stopped watching Ninjago after season 5 but only now am I catching up so I apreciate comments like this. Also, could you explain to me what was going on with Cole please? Like, was he slowly dying/fading away?!? I didn't understand that and people aren't mentioning it so I feel like I might've missed something. Also bc Jay was pretty chill when talking about his friend literally ''fading more often'' at 22:27 like- is that not supposed to be more concerning? Idk what the whole 'fading away' really implied tbh, was Cole just loosing control of his ghost abilities or legit just about to die????
@@alittlebitofme07 since ghosts need a vessel if they are in a mortal realm, such as the preeminent or Yang’s temple. Cole wasn’t connected to either of them which is why he was starting to fade away. If Cole completely faded away, he would had been sent to the Departed Realm
@LB_the_Creator Ohhh that's so cool! I would've loved if they built that up a bit more, kinda give us more of that sense of urgency. But still very interesting! Thanks for answering ^-^
I find it interesting that out of all the skulkin to give as sidekicks for Samukai, they went for Krazi and Frakjaw, who from their lore from books, each embody a trait of Jay, Krazi is described as being comedic, while Frakjaw is described as being overly talkative, though neither of these traits are shown in the special, and the choice of those two being used may just be a coincidence, it's neat thing of note.
Something to note, this and S7 are the first episode and season not written by the Hageman Brothers (Dan & Kevin) as they were busy with writing for another show, but they do come back after it.
Cole's scar is a little reminder to his ghosth form so that it will be remembered in the future, also many people headcanon that to be because he entered the rift the last second so that small part stayed like that or something
I mean Morro is great and all but Pythor is just best villain that will always comes back. I really like they didn’t let Pythor be a good guy, he is just better character as a villain (plus it makes sense he just used the ninja to get rid off Chen’s fake Anacondrai and Garmadon at the same time). Tho Morrow is hella of badass villain.
extra detail u maybe didnt notice: the temple stayed in the air because when clancee married nadakhan he said the temple would withstand the tests of time :D
I feel like your point about Yang being probably the least evil of these villains is a good one, but this isn’t a story about the fate of Ninjago, it’s the fate of cole. If Yang had gotten through the rift, Coke would’ve been stranded in the temple.
I believe the reason Cole is fading away is because the departed realm is close to Ninjago and since ghost are undead they fade but once day of the departed is over they go back to normal
I know this comment is Probably not going to be seen the reason why Zane is the master of ice is because in a flash back where Zane’s father met master wu Zane’s father said he met a man that as if winter followed him that was the master of ice he created Zane’s power source
