The ksm32 to my ears. Sounds less hyped and smoother. The high end sounds a touch too bright for my tastes. But that said, his voice sounds great on them all.
42 for the win. Such a hard decision. I am buying one of these because I want to move in to a more natural sounding mic. 44 sounds good too but seems to cross into that "bright, slightly processed" area. Thought are appreciated?
I actually found the KSM32 the best of the 3; I found the top end of both the 42 and the 44a a bit raw sounding, with the 44a being the most unpleasant.

I mean, I don't know much about the microphones, but I buy them, so hey, maybe my opinion matters. The KSM44 sounds quite a bit nasal to me (if that's a word, nasal...) compared to say Audio-Technica microphones. But this can be easily corrected with EQ. Oh, and for sheer intimidation factor of great looks, it's really hard to beat the KSM44. And, compared to Neumann microphones, the KSM44 is affordable!!! And it used to be made in the U.S.A. Not sure about the KSM44A. Looks nice too, but they somehow removed "Made in U.S.A." from it. Not sure why.
The KSM 32 was my first LDC, and it was kind of just a lucky guess. I've used it for decades now, and only slowly did it dawn on me what a winner it is. Best 500 bucks you'll spend at the beginning of your recording career. It's also fantastic on acoustic guitar in combination with a small diaphragm condenser.
@@ПавлоВенгерко I don't know any of these. I recommend the UA-cam channel Podcastage. He does funny, thorough mic reviews, and I'm sure he has tested both your choices. Good luck!
i have a ksm 32 but it sound very cheap compared to the video. Mine sound very boxy, not intense, far away and no high frequency. Is it beacause of the cable (he is very long) ? or because it is directly plug into the soundcard (focusrite scarlett 2i2) ? do i need a pre amp to make it better ? Maybe the mic felt on the floor and i a bit broken ?
Agreed. They are all solid 44 is a bit bright Could be good in some cases with de-essing. 32 most natural. 42 in the middle, But does emphasize nasal a bit here but also seems to have a little more magic than the others.

What differences are you hearing from mic to mic? For the best experience, we recommend listening with studio headphones or monitors.
Great mics
KSM 42 sounds better whereas KSM 44 is little bit coloured and doesn't sound so natural.
Really sold me on the KSM42, sounded smooth and clear, without losing the dynamic tone of the singer. Great comparison, and even greater performance.
Did you normalize the recordings? It just seems to me that e.g. the 44 is recorded louder than the 42 - which makes a big difference when comparing.
The KSM42 is purpose-built to track vocals, yet most people don't even know it exists.
The 42 is such a sleeper mic. I use it for voice over. Audio sits in the mix nicely.

That's true. I had to almost give my brand new KSM42 away and lost a fortune.
Need to hear more of this guy

Wow! Now those are some chops. What a voice! And the mics sound great too.
Yeah, a super talented singer and great writing !

Marcus has his own Sam Cooke Change is gonna come vibe. Great voice. The 44 captures it all.

Correct. 32 and 42 sound better.
Exactly what I thought too. Too much sibilance on the 42 and 44a for my liking.
32 is too nasally for his voice

To me the 32 is the most true and natural sounding where the other 2 are kinda more glitzy sounding(Neumann like). What an outstanding bargain!
Great singer and song. I like the KSM32 for the smoothest sibilance.
Thats what npr replaced their u87's with. I have one and love it because I usually can't stand the overly crisp condenser sound straight to digital
I really love this song and all the videos Marcus Scott it’s in! ❤️
Marcus’s voice, reminds me of Terence Trent D'Arby/Sananda Maitreya first studio album release
Isn't the 32 aa med diaphragm electret?

make sure it's not a bootleg. one time I bought a shure dynamic mic that was a bootleg.
Probably broken or the recording environment you're in needs treatment. Better preamp would definitely help as well.
42 sounds the best

Get that man a 67!
Ksm 44 is transparent. like holding your ear up to a singer's mouth to listen.
exactly what i thought
This man has such a great voice! I'm getting some serious Marvin Gaye vibes from him. Dayum! 😊🤘
The performances were too different for such a specific comparison.
I had a 44 and now a 44a it’s a “must have” microphone for me.
