  • In this fishing video, we'll show you how to go blue swimmer crabbing off the Stansbury Jetty, one of the best crabbing spots on the Yorke Peninsula. It was a warm Autumn day, a dodge tide and a low fish activity day, so we were not expecting much action.
To start off with, for bait in the crab nets we used fresh Tommy Ruff that we had caught the day before, and soon had caught a blue swimmer crab. It was a keeper too! We tried for some bait fish, and caught a few Weedy Whiting which did the job nicely. I also tried for squid as there was ink all over the jetty - a sure sign that squid frequent the area. I had seen a squid chasing my fish in so knew it was worth a try. Straight away I caught a nice sized squid which was a bonus!
All up we caught 6 blue swimmer crabs using our crab nets, and they were all keepers. We usually find that three crabs each is the perfect amount for a meal, so we headed back to the campsite. That night we made crab linguine. A perfect end to another great fishing and crabbing day on Yorke Peninsula!
