The fact Stephen genuinely tapping and redo when he made a mistake, no tongue in cheek jokes, big smile after he finished the set like he accomplished something, is really refreshing to see on network television. Very Classy.
+Mia7189 You second that emotion twice :P! I ll gladly second it but I fear that it lead to an exponential growth of emotions who would enventually germinate the total collapse of the internet.
That was awesome! I wish I had taken tap lessons as a kid. The fact that she's a MacArthur Genius grant winner got my gears spinning. I do hope Stephen has Lin-Manuel Miranda on at some point. I'd love to hear him talk about Hamilton, do an awesome rap, etc.
When I'm kind of bored or just need something to pass the time or to make me sleep, I imagine myself being a guest on Stephen's show for whatever reason. I think I'm gonna try to do something big and special just so I can meet him!
The sign of the cross before trying a feat was just so typically, typically Catholic that I burst out laughing. Somehow I thought Colbert would've tackled this a lot more gracefully--having seen his other moves--but the newbie touch made this really thrilling!
This is awesome. Stephen is a quick study. My sister swing dances and tried to teach me the Shim Sham. I can't do the dance but I love to watch others dancing it.
An interesting note about talk show hosts - Dick Cavett was a tap dancer, he often came to Harkness House/NYC in 1979 when Paul Draper was guest teaching for American Dance Machine.
+D. Black I hope he make that a regular segment. He's on Broadway now so I hope he goes out into the neighborhood. Not the way Letterman used to, but go to different theaters and be able to do fun stuff with the cast of shows.
so since we're doing MacArthur Genius grant winners...when is Lin Manuel Miranda's turn up? #Hamiltunes for the win!!! -really though, enjoying the variety of the arts/and culture shown on Colbert's Late Show :)
John 3:16 KJV: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” King James Version

Yeah
You're simply the best late night talk show host, Stephen. You're doing an incredible job! Keep up the great work.
I second that emotion!

I loved the Colbert Report, but I'm loving this show more. Its great to see that genuine shy smirky face finding a new stage presence.
Stephen is so incredibly sincere with his guests
Stephen is having a time of his life :p
+Akash Talwar And it really shows. He is like joy personified. It is a big part of why I enjoy watching.

He redefines late night televisions. The funniest and most talented late night host ever.
I loved how afterwards, he leaned over and told her that this was a lifelong dream come true.
Aw I love that he was so excited about learning to tap and did such a good job :)

Kat Rockenbach Me too! so many odd imaginary scenarios! haha

+ohhoworiginal you can totally tell he was more aware of his balancing than the steps lol
+LuchoVena Oh man. This was such an enjoyable episode.

Stephen, you are my hero!!! Great Job!!!

What can't Colbert do?!
he cant be a terrible host. It's impossible
+Twistedreturns thing is, even if he tries, he would still be very entertaining and not a jackass

+John Corral I want a Stephen clone. Where are these Stephen clones that you speak of? ;-)
+Fleur Inoue molest children in the name of religion.. atleast not yet :'(
This is awesome. Stephen is a quick study. My sister swing dances and tried to teach me the Shim Sham. I can't do the dance but I love to watch others dancing it.

Love Michelle! This is great with Colbert!😀
Hello Mr. Colbert. i enjoy your new show. much love from the philippines :)
So The Late Show is Colbert's way to train his skills as an allround-entertainer? Works fine by me.
He has that adorable kid spirit about him.

Stephen could be in a Broadway production! Hey I'd see it.
+D. Black He was already. He was in Sondheim's Company.
+D. Black I hope he make that a regular segment. He's on Broadway now so I hope he goes out into the neighborhood. Not the way Letterman used to, but go to different theaters and be able to do fun stuff with the cast of shows.
If he wants to be big on UA-cam he just took a *puts on sunglasses* step in the right direction
+eric greene YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHH

I have always wanted to learn tap dancing. I think it would be useless... but so am I. :)
Tito Tim If you have fun,it's nt useless! Go for it!
U r the man!
Stephen has never seemed sexier

As the black kids say "you can't front on that, yo."
Did he make a move on her chest??
Nice to see them blow the cobwebs off the Ed Sullivan Theater tap floor.
I think Steve has tapped before......

He’s not new to this.
I wish to be Colbert > I wish to be Donald Trump

Sad
I think that tap dancing is an abomination to God and to flaminco, yet Stephen does good job to make me love something I hate
Well this show fucking sucks now...
I dunno.....
I think I might rather watch lip synching contests and a host that thinks every single minute is laugh inducing.......
Not.
Triple threat
one time before my ass! lol colbert was awesome
Nice
