Why can't they make it work? Japan and China is only couple hours of plane ride away. Also, there's facetime and other technologies to maintain the communication. She's probably will be gone for a couple years only, she can come home for summer, Christmas and new years holidays, it's not she will be gone for 10 years and flight time is 15 hours one way. They are both so young, plenty of time to work out their future. At least try and make it work, why give up so fast. Doesn't make sense to me.
