- I decided to look at the map to see what else was around and found that the Cathedral of St John the Evangelist wasn’t too far away. It was a Church on my to visit list since it is another Jubilee Year of Hope Pilgrim Church. So I went in search of it.
Since it was early afternoon it was quiet. It’s nice that it was wide open, so I went in. There was someone, a parishioner I guess, pinning notices on the board and I asked him if there were any certificates or tokens for visiting the Church. He said there wasn’t. Ah well, can’t have it all I guess.
So i decided to sit and spend time in prayer in a beautiful Church. I prayed for all my family and friends as well as all in my Church Parish. I thought I might return for the 6.30 Vigil Mass later, now that I know the way to the station.
I found my way back to the station and it’s only 2 stops from KL Sentral station. So yes, I will be back later.
When I got to KL Sentral station I found my way easily through the station and into the shopping mall. Yes, I found the sign, which I thought was rather insignificant, pointing the way for pedestrians!
I was a little peckish and saw a Popiah stall. Popiah is a largish fresh spring roll filled with assorted warm vegetables. Yummy. That filled me. When I got out, I saw a stall selling local desserts and I had a Durian chendol. Lovely and refreshing. And I then made my way back.
When I got to my the apartment block, I decided to check out the pool area on the top floor, 53rd floor. Wow! I think I might just spend some time there tomorrow and relax. It is after all, Sunday! Yes. A good idea.
While walking I noticed a sign that listed a few places in the area and one of them was the Church of Our Lady of Fatima. I checked on the app which indicated it was just under 10 minutes’ walk away. So I thought I’d go there this evening instead.
After freshening up and relaxing for a bit, I made my way to Mass. Today was World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life, the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord and also Candlemas where candles were blessed just before Mass. So I was glad that I went and got a blessed candle.
After Mass I took a walk around the area. It seems to be the posher end on Brickfields (Little India). Now I know of somewhere else to come and have more Indian food - perhaps tomorrow!
