Lots of young people take time to figure things out. College might not be right for her now but it'll be there in the future. She wants to work so I don't see that as being lazy. They've mentioned she has ADHD, per the Mayo Clinic: It may contribute to low self-esteem, troubled relationships, and difficulty at school. Being supportive and encouraging could help. Laylay is speaking from her perspective so let's give her that. My city is having trouble communicating the seriousness of the virus to younger residents. There is definitely a disconnect, in part, because they are largly asymptomatic. They don't see suffering among their age group.
