The Damned live, Burger Boogaloo 2018 & PressureDrop.tv

- When the sweet growl of Dave Vanian’s voice fills the Oakland air, you know what’s coming - decades of British punk lore, eclecticism, and stamina that have brought a lot of legendary music to bear. Captain Sensible is in fine form, cracking jokes, insulting everyone, screeching away on the SG - drummer Pinch leads a heartfelt moment for Steve Soto of The Adolescents, and Jello Biafra chimes in for the jubilant finale. It is an evening for the ages, thanks to burgerboogaloo.com for appreciating what’s important! July 1, 2018, Oakland CA.

Hi - just a note, we had an audio issue that day so the audio quality improves at about 2:30 FYI :)
i m from marseille i ve all the reccords of the damned
one question: is that scabies who plays drums ? And the name of the bassist ?
i heard damned in 1980 for the first time (15 at that time) i ve see them in 1985 at cherbourg after Clash at Gehenno
thanks for that video
@@c.leconte4149 Pinch played here as drummer (today has left the band) , and an occasionnal bassist
@@fifi9943 thanks
@@c.leconte4149 The bassist is Jon Priestley (currently playing with The Godfathers). He has replaced Paul Gray for a few gigs from time to time since Paul rejoined the band. Jon is a great bloke. I talked to him before The Godfathers' gig at SuperSonic in Paris, France, in early 2020. Down to earth.
Funny: I thought it was me.
Saw the Damned a few years ago in Dublin Ireland. One of THE BEST shows I've ever been to. Their energy, their pure passion for the music, the quality of the playing, the sound, the stage presence. Dave Vanian even came over to me and got me to say "Is she really going out with him?" to start New Rose. One of my fondest memories that I'll cherish forever.
Dublin is not in Ireland is it.
mary weiss would be proud
First saw The Damned in 1979 Last saw The Damned in 2019. Nothing about 40 years with the band has been anything other than a revelation. Fantastic Band
GREAT COMMENT
I love how the bass sounds
Thanks for the download, such an amazing band, criminaly undervalued / appreciated and underestimated. But over 40 years and still going strong.
What a banger of a gig! Thanks for the upload!
Our pleasure!
The banana plays a mean guitar! First band I ever saw back in 1979 in Coventry. Still great over 40 years on...
I was there that night too!
Nostalgie ..la voix de Dave l ambiance du groupe ...toujours a crocheur..
One of the best, most focused and musicianly gig I've heard them play. That is why a good sound team is so vital.
The first band -1976- and the last, best band! I have seen them in so many venues over the years, mostly general admission - but I just scored front row seat tickets for the 2022 tour! Thrilled!! Love my favorite selfie instructor! Legendary! From New Rose to Evil Spirits and the Machine Gun Etiquette coated with Strawberries in between, Love me some Damned!
Wait for thé blackout ..on y est !!
Fantastic combination of electric guitar riffs and bass lines. What a band!
Gotta love dave
Fucking great Bass sound.
that bloke on guitar with the red hat aint too bad on guitar.... singer pretty good too..
;-)
Jello Biafra pops out in Smash it Up! How good!
This is flipping amazing footage thanks PDTV! A band that has carried on and on, bringing out constant albums & being creative, & not just another punk band reforming!
goddamn I wish I was there
good sound thanks !
11/10
fuckin awesome band........old boys that rock like fuck
amazing form!
Keep rocking you're the best
Hahah loved seeing them in Sheffield ...was a long time!
The Damned...great live...even their famous performance on The Old Grey Whistle Test.....lads had a few bevvies it's safe to say....
What a great show! I'm at 41:00-43:00 when DV is in the crowd. :-)
well good concert here....
What a bloody cracking version of Anti-Pope.
Admiral Sensible. He's no longer the Captain! LOL
"Love song" is the name of the song after "Anti Pope" and they mix with "Machine Gun Etiquette (Second Time Around)"
Ok will fix, thanks!
You're DAMNED- right!!!
Шикарные!
They certainly still do rawk! Not difficult when you have great (but loose and trashy - the best kind) musicians and a set of songs that covers everything apart from Funk. Punk Pink Floyd. Syd Barratt would have found a happy home here.
Jello on guitar!
Jon Priestley is awesome. Listen to his Gallien Kruger rig that guy is rocking fuck me that's sick!
The Damned not in The Blackout ie The Night when it's Dark, Hardly saw the sun indeed!
one dislike? wonder who the poor bloke is?
must be deaf
Dave never gets in the crowd !!??
Yeah it's probably the mix but fuck me They sound awesome with jon's Bass.
0:20 Dave skulking in the background ;)
Cap back on guitar!
Where have you been he's been back on guitar for years & years
No Intro? Muy suave, derecho se otro of what could be a GRANDE FINALE ====>
johnny vegas on drums.
:D Markku&Huns :D
A bunch of Zombies in the audience? by Christine
Good stuff Who was standing in on Bass for this gig

They ever gonna keep the same bass player and drummer?
what happened to burger BRO?!
1:20:28 someone kissing Captain's foot lol
nice catch! Deserves kissing
That's his shoe...
@@startervisions Funnily enough Einstein, you wear a shoe on your foot 👍
@@lilyjenkins6274 ...that's what I said
@@startervisions Sounded like you were trying to correct me even though we are both right?
They were not worthy!
bummed out that the band has become all Captain all the time!! but that's how his ego likes it huh. Put the differences behind and get rat back
Well as luck would have it... June 2021 will see the full original line-up back together
