When I saw the thumbnail mentioning "unicorn hornets" I instantly went googling and, understandably, found nothing on them. It would be funny if they existed though.

Why are the Hornets building a nest so close to the ground? I thought they usually build in higher places versus yellow jackets that build in walls or at the ground level?

I'm amazed how you just walk right up to the nest before removal with a camera right up in their grill, with no fear. I see a nest and immediately have a heart attack when I don't expect it haha.

Hi, I’m a Pest controller from the UK and I don’t know any other Pest controllers that vacuum nests up. Pesticides are used way too much I think. My last employer wouldn’t allow anything but Insecticide treatments. Recently I became Self Employed so……
I bought a vac this week and removed a nest in a large Beech hedge. It was sooooo satisfying
Plus. I’ve bought a beekeeping jacket like yours (which they wouldn’t buy me in my last job) and although I was covered in wasps I didn’t get stung once.
Thanks for the tips and making my job fun again.

You need to soup up that vacuum pack- it barely seems to suck in the flyers even inches away. The old vac would pull them in for a city block by comparison.

My greatest fear is….. they have more than one point of entry!!!
I’m guessing a pressure washer with a mix of soap foaming up the area/nest would do the trick! Or the hornet spray that you soak the nest with!?
The paper ball nest above ground is one I haven’t tackled !!
Yellowjackets in the ground & wasp nest on houses….. I love taking them out!!
Foaming hornet/wasp spray works great for them!
Wasp…. My spray concoction works for them 👌
Don’t play with Yellowjackets or Hornets! Have your wits about ya with them!

Using wasp nests to feed chickens; I love it! Question: if you put a little diatomaceous earth in the vacuum canister, would that kill them while it's running? I've used it as a natural insect deterrent, but I don't know how quickly it would work in a vacuum...
