They say the throttle response of the Mine's BNR34 is completely unrivaled and it nearly just feels like a larger displacement engine without turbos. Its shocking to think as old as that car is back then they were able to get it so perfectly balanced that the response was that great. For me personally I just dont like the sound of the 26 on twins but it's amazing nonetheless.

I also learn a lot more in here, even though I don't know japanese, you could kind of get what they are talking about, and if you already have a knowledge in cars, the better and easier to understand. I'm not professionally educated in cars but through their videos, I have come to know some technical stuff. Top gear is more entertainment beyond cars. But not my go to car videos.

Seen it with RX8's as well. It's an enigma. If you watch the part where it's introduced, you can hear it as well, tho he's talking over it, so it's a little hard to catch. Also the first timestamp you sent (here you need the best eyes in the world for this poor bitrate video, lol) if you look SUPER close, you can see the revmeter reaching max. I swear I do not understand this, but trust me, it was actually pushed.

I doubt Keiichi wasn't driving the way he felt was the fastest in that car. If he was being careless he would've slided more, he can't help but drift when he's not super serious, haha.
The mines isn’t superior it ways less then the other gtr hence the lap times but the 3 rotor would be way quicker if it was more heavily tuned like the mines is 200ps less and a lot lighter running at the same BHP the 7 would destroy it

Car was setup for total balance and high response. It also had a shorter final drive and carbon propshaft. Plus, that Spec 2 complete engine costs a bomb.
Even if I'd take an NA engine over a turbo'd any day of the week... NA's do lack the torque to pull away on straights, so they can't win most races. I know I'm being Captain Obvious here, but it makes me saaaaaaaad :'( (especially with the advancements in today's tech)
It would've been a fairer match if the NA cars were up front and Turbo cars were in the back of the pack. Either way, I could still see the Mines R34 shattering lap times while overtaking other cars. Still prefer NA cars but I can't deny the appeal of Turbo cars.
Well, you saw how the "300 hp cars" still gave the "600 hp cars" such a fight? Power is not everything, and neither is lightweight, neither only both things. It must have a total balance in all the car, and the base car also is important. The FD3S from RE Amemiya was the best performing, standing right behind that R34 monster with half the power and still finishing third. And credit where its due, its the amazing balance that FD RX7s have in everything weight related, transmission and power. The GT-Rs only had 600 HP in their engine and the balance went out the window, so the power was the only thing that kept them winning.
It has a 20B 3 rotor swap and the people at RE Amemiya thought it was a good idea to make it N/A as RE Amemiya specialise in handling and adding a turbo would have turbo lag but going N/A means you have better throttle response, that's probably why the RX7 is N/A.
They are essentially racing JGTC 500 + 300 class cars at the same time, it's not fair the GTRs which are the 500 class is smoking the 300 class cars like the Rx7s, S2000s. The NSX can only put up a fight if its making 500HP+. The Mine's GTR supposed to be making 600HP+
