    I don't think lve ever used the home wrap stuff before. I use 6mil plastic rolls. I can remember useing tar paper, it all works. That roof bothers me , sorry you used what you had. I'm sure you'll put tin on the roof. Loved those bitties, those yellow buffs were beautiful. Good luck, what do you power up with l missed that. An do you have to travel for internet. None of my bees wax , just curious.

      I use the 6 mill for interior Vapor barrier. Yup tin on the roof and I use my phone as a hotspot for the internet. For the little bit of power I need I just use a genny

      House wrap keeps out moisture but allows for air flow, therefore using 6 mil inside and out is going to trap moisture in your walls and insulation, house wrap is going to let it breath

      @scottyb8962 nope this stuff isn't breathable. Keeps out moisture and wind. I've used breathable housewarp before but it's more expensive and didn't need it for this application

    I saw a video where people ask on home construction sites to take scraps, I thought that was a good idea instead of it getting tossed in the trash. Maybe that's available by you? I love the ingenuity you use already tho.

      Yes for sure. I have done that in the past and worked great :) same with beach wash up areas

    Not judging, just asking for my future reference when I go off grid. Why not Tyvek it then put the boards on?

      @MapleMonkeyHomestead  13 днів тому

      Then the boards on the outside would be exposed to the elements, if water got behind the siding it would rot faster. This way if water got behind, it hits the house wrap and sheds off naturally not seeping into the wood rotting it

    If you cut the excess wood off the back of the roof, you would have more wood to use.

      For sure! I’ll do that when I get ready to tarpaper it and such :)

    I don’t know if if this a joke but if it looks “crazy” but works ….. it’s not crazy.
