In the shots of the Scotsman outside a museum, I live in that town and was there. Truly a magnificent sight! ☺️

Figured this would be a good first video to watch on this channel and it did not disappoint. I agree whole-heartedly that steam engines just seem to have a personality all their own. Its why I always try to get out and see it when Union Pacific brings out the Big Boy or the 844 Living Legend. In fact watching this the day before going out to see Canadian Pacific's 2816 "The Empress". I couldn't tell you every detail of every engine out there. But it never fails to strike me everytime I see one, especially the big boy, at how humanity has achived so much with the power of steam.

As an American, I wish we preserved our rails better than we did. Such a cool way of life that I wish we could still experience. Thanks for documenting the Flying Scotsman.

Here there are many steam engines in preservation all across the country, it's quite interesting to see the diverse range in what used to be the backbone of transport infrastructure.

There are definitely some great museums providing both documentary and and preservation work on trains here in the US. Right here in Baltimore, the B&O railroad museum is one of the best I would say, between their large collection of train engines and other rolling stock and doing an amazing job of documenting the railroads connection to amazing historical events such as the attempted assassination of Lincoln before his inauguration, the underground railroad and the Civil War. The railroad museum in Portland Oregon is quite amazing too, and both museums provide train rides on a variety of vintage engines.
