SHIT ... BLACK SABBATH LIVE in any year still Fuckin Rocks ! They've been in it for 50 yrs. I seen PANTERA open up for BLACK SABBATH at the LA FOURM, Kick Ass !
Ozzy & Dio are both very talented vocalists, loved the reaction to both of their times as lead singer for Black Sabbath. I’m looking forward to the solo vid for Master of Puppets! Thank you for another great video.🔥🤘🏻p.s COKE-cola is a helluva drug hahaha
Not only is Tony Iommi left handed, but he lost all his fingertips in an accident at a steel mill he worked at, and made his own prosthetic figertips out of leather to keep playing.
If you want to draw a straighter line from early Sabbath to some of the later metal you have listened to, try “Sabbath bloody sabbath” or “Symptom of the universe”: the roots of modern metal are all there.
Ozzy era Sabbath was Sabbath, Dio and Martin era Sabbath was Heavy Metal (not to say there weren't some amazing songs there). All the influential experimenting happened during 1970-1979 with Ozzy. That's why Ozzy era Sabbath is easily the most important part of Sabbath history. I went to see Black Sabbath in the original lineup on the Reunion tour 1999 when I was 12 years old, as I had already been jamming to Sabbath ever since I could understand what music was. Forever #1 for me. If you want a dive into what Sabbath really in its roots is, listen to these songs. - Fairies Wear Boots - A National Acrobat - Killing Yourself to Live - Symptom of the Universe - Children of the Grave - Megalomania - The Writ - Solitude - Changes - Hand of Doom - Planet Caravan - N.I.B. - Sweet Leaf - Into the Void - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath - Junior's Eyes - Air Dance
i remember when i was a roadie for sabbath way back when, i remember ozzy came up to me while he was high as a kite, and said " 'ere, you want some coke" i was like "fuck it, yeah go on then" so he walks off and comes back a minute later and hands me a bag with a kilo of cocaine saying "if you want more, just say so, ive got cocaine everywhere, it just keeps appearing out of nowhere" fucking mad lad
These are great but into the void is my favourite sabbath track. To this day, it is still one of the heaviest pieces of music ever written. Hard to imagine they wrote that song in 1971. The whole master of reality album is a masterpiece tbh.
Completely agree. My personal favorite and the introductory riff is possibly Iommi's best. That's saying something given his long, long list of bone-crushing riffs.
Same to me, Into the void is Black Sabbath at its finest ! The whole Master of Reality just kicks ass ! That's crazy they've reached such heavyness and metal grooves in 1971 : pionners
Kaiya, you need to listen (and you are going to love) the whole "Rainbow's Rising" (from the pre-Black Sabbath band that Dio was in). It is from 1976 :)
I'm SO curious about Rainbow!! When I was creating the list of songs I found out about that band with Dio and yes... Rainbow will make a debut to the channel very soon. Thanks for watching! 🙏
@@imaKaiya I'm glad to hear that. Or you could do a mix of songs like: "Stargazer", "Man on the Silver Mountain", "The Temple of the King", "Tarot Woman" and "Gates of Babylon" :)
@@imaKaiya Don't forget Deep Purple, where Rainbow main man Ritchie Blackmore came from. And another world class singer, Ian Gillan, did (and still do...) the vocals. Gillan was actually in Black Sabbath for an album - Born Again (controversial one...) when he was out of Purple. And then there's Led Zeppelin with Robert Plant on vocals😍 Hard to say which one of those unique masterful vocals was the best... Good thing one can just enjoy them all!
I believe Henry Rollins said something to the effect that every great riff has already been written by Black Sabbath. Everything else you hear is a variant that has been reversed, sped up, slowed down Etc but at the end of the day Sabbath was there first.
I believe they are the Kings of Metal. Heaven and Hell just might be the best metal song of all time next to War Pigs. One of the best bands of all time. Thanks for Watching!!

Bear in mind this is album production from 1972 or so. This is engineering that is adapting in real time to a sound this heavy they are trying to capture to tape. It is actually quite remarkable that it is distinct as it is

Check out Dio's former band, Rainbow. Ronnie and Ritchie Blackmore were great together "Stargazer" is a great starting point, then "Gates of Babylon", "Catch the Rainbow", "Man on the Silver Mountain", "Temple of the King" and so many more.
BTW, Tony Iommi the guitarist of Black Sabbath if you look close his fingertips were cut off in a machine accident when he was younger and he had to learn to play the guitar that way with artificial tips! If that isn’t fucking heavy metal I don’t know what it is lol🤘🏼🤘🏼🍺🍺🍺
Black Sabbath is a huge HUGE influence on Sludge and Doom Metal.... insert copy/pasta :D Okay so Ima just drop this here and other places in hopes you'll give 'em a go. The band Crowbar still heavy as heck but with slower tempos. This is t he "Sludge Metal" genre. Crowbar - Like Broken Glass, Planets Collide, The Lasting Dose, All I Had (I Gave), Walk with Knowledge Wisely.
Tony Iommi (eye-OWE-me) was the father of metal. All of the music riffs were his. He didn't have to run around, since the audiences were always mesmerized as he invented genres by the boatload, and everyone has been copying him ever since (as Rob Zombie said so well). I saw them many times, and there was no one else like that who could stand there for two hours and blow you away like that. He wasn't being chill, he was focused and intense. No bs with him. 5 songs you really should listen to: 1) Into the Void; 2) Children of the Grave; 3) Symptom of the Universe (where iommi invented the beginnings of thrash); 4) Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath; and 5) Lonely is the Word. These are all important songs. Use only studio recordings, not live.
They are the biggest mystery in rock music s history.Four low class boys from an industrial city of England and leaving in same area.Without big experience with a bass player who was a guitar player and knew shit about bass before and a guitar player who lost some fingertips, came to rock scene and changed rock music forever.Because in music what really matters is talent soul and purpose
someone already beat me to it, but I want to add more. tony Iommi right before joining this band lost multiple fingertips on his fretting hand, on his last day at this metal manufacturing job. He left on his lunch and wasn't going to go back, but his mom made him go back to finish of the day, and right after that he cut his fingertips off. He couldn't play with the tension of the strings in Standard tuning anymore with his rubber fingertips that he glued to his fingers, and also glued leather from his jacket, the same jacket his still does to the rubber on his fingers. He had to drop tune the strings, and that created the heavy metal sound.
N.I.B. was the name of a brand of pen in England at the time. You know a lot of people speculated as to what it meant, and the rumours spread. I learnt this from Toni Iommi's autiobiography, called "Iron Man".
The first album they laid down in one session, in a matter of hours. They were more focused on getting to their next gig, because they couldn't see the recordings going anywhere. In a matter of weeks they were informed that they had a hit song on the charts.
What I find interesting, is that nobody comments on the very first line of the song, where "masses" is used two different ways..."Generals gather in their masses, just like witches at black masses" the imagery that that line produces is amazing, in short putting generals in the same league as witches...anyway, Rock ON!!
You should also give a listen to the song Born Again, the lead singer is Ian Gillan (former Deep Purple). Chilling performance. Also Valhalla, Nightwing and The Headless Cross with another great but underrated lead singer, Tony Martin
Maybe Toni Ionni's stagnant stance while he's soloing is because he lost two finger tips on his right hand, so he put those home-made thimbles where his finger tips used to be (in other words, maybe that made him have to kind of "stop" and concentrate on his playing more).
Cool reaction! It's obvious that you didn't really listen to your CD of Master of Reality though...some of their best and heaviest songs are on this one... Children of the grave, Into the void, Lord of this world, Sweet leaf... masterpiece through and through, I hope you get to revisit it!
You're absolutely right, I didn't really listen to much of Master of Reality. Before I got into this metal journey I honestly thought Sabbath was wayy too heavy and wouldn't be something I was into.... BOY WAS I WRONG lol. Definitely appreciate having that record now and cherish listening to it since doing this video. But now it's a must that I buy the rest of their discography. Thanks for watching! 🙏🙏

Definitely check out some Ronnie James Dio if you liked Heaven and Hell :) A few great songs with Dio singing: "Don't Talk To Strangers", "Last In Line" "Rainbow In The Dark", "Stargazer (Rainbow) ".
Going to recommend some Dream Theater, not sure if it's been recommended yet. They're like opeth but no harsh vocals. For songs, I'd recommend the entire "Twelve Step Suite" which is a combination of 5 songs written by the drummer across 5 different albums. The 5 songs encompass the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and are all about the drummer's experience with alcoholism with one song featuring spoken word apologies from a number of other metal musicians that struggled with substance abuse, including Corey Taylor (Slipknot) and Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth). Songs: The Glass Prison, This Dying Soul, The Root of All Evil, Repentance, The Shattered Fortress
I remember a friend of mine showed me his Paranoid album when I was in 9th grade. I asked him the exact same question, "What was the album cover about?" He said the guy was full of anxious energy, hence, the blurry sight of him giggling left and right.
Is it true black sabbath are credited with being the grandfathers of metal because tony iomomi had two fingers missing from an earlier factory mistake and they used distortion to compensate?
Great stuff from the standard for heavy metal for over 50 years. To truly see the force of nature they were right away, try the amazing suite off side 2 of their self titled debut album. The fury of Tony Iommi is something to behold on the suite: A Bit of Finger, Sleeping Village, Warning. It will blow your mind! Enjoy. 🎵🎸🎶
This was a different reaction/review video and I liked it very much!! The comparison between the 2 singers, refreshing to see. I love both Ozzy and RJD. I really think you would enjoy diving in to Iron Maiden! Would love to see that. Studio or Live, you cannot go wrong. The best live band in my opinion. Some of the popular staples: Hallowed be thy name, Fear of the dark, The Trooper, Aces High. Some diamonds in the rough that are some of my personal favorites are: Revelations, Children of the damned, Dance of Death. A couple of good songs on their most recent album are: The Writing on the Wall and Hell on Earth. "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" is a 13 minute epic that will take you on a journey. All awesome songs!
Yeah! Now we are talking! There is no crying in Metal ( you were getting a little teary eye there in Heaven and Hell). Just kidding, cry away if you want to. Anyway , great reaction . Always enjoy watching your channel and reactions.
If you’ve already listened to all of the Heaven and Hell album, then some of the greatest metal songs are already under your belt (Children of the Sea, Die Young, Lonely is the Word), but there’s another “Sabbath with Dio” album that very nearly as good: Mob Rules. Must listen tracks off that include Country Girl, Sign of the Southern Cross, and Over and Over.
Since you like Dio era and Dio's sound, I suggest taking a listen to Martin era and the album Headless Cross, it's excellent 🤌 and it has a lot of the same elements and a lot of catchy stuff. I'd also say Iommi does his most technical work on that album, he is shredding like many didn't believe he could there.
A record a year was "par for the course" for metal bands then and into the eighties. I heard Dave Mustaine say though that an album every 2 years is par for the course for them though.
It seems to me that Neon Knights runs slightly too fast. I know Die Young from RHINO's channel runs about 3.5% fast for some reason and I suspect it's the same with this.
Black Sabbath had legends as front men Ozzy Osbourne and Dio, Ian gillian and Glenn Hughes also sang for Sabbath. Which they weren't as Iconic to the band as Dio and or Ozzy.
What a concept.. Metal Bands my granddaddy use to listen to. Music transcends time remember the great composers like Bethoven and Mozart were both born in the late 1700's Symptoms of the Universe is one of my favorites of вlаск Sавватн ✝️
The first album, as you could imagine, wasn't everyone's cup of tea. Ozzy brought it home and played it for his dad, and his dad's reaction was kind of like "meh".
I generally don’t like debut albums, but Black Sabbath’s is one of the few that show a band already knowing who they are and what they are going to play. Most bands take a while to do that.
Deep Purple, Rainbow and Judas Priest needs to be next. Some songs from Purple (Speed King, Child In Time, Hard Lovin' Man, Fireball, Highway Star, Lazy) are very foundational of heavy metal.
Yeah, he rewrote them. Original lyrics by Dave Walker. There is a live version with Walker - BBC Midlands TV program "Look Hear" on 6 January 1978. It's on YT.
I am proud to be born in the same country were Metal was invented. I was born and live less than 2 and half hours away by car. From were the 4 original guys grew up.
There is a wide variety of more modern Sabbath inspired bands if youd like to explore that. Anything under the genre of "Stoner Doom Metal" is just Black Sabbath worship pretty much. There is a lot of oversaturation in that genre but some good albums too. Electric Wizard - Dopethrone and Elder - Lore are two goood examples
I always wondered what stoner doom metal was lol. I guess now I know! Thanks for the recommendations and for watching. Definitely going to check out your suggestions. Sabbath is amazing and I'm so glad they're finally on the channel.
It is safe to say that Heaven and Hell has been on repeat for the last week. I hope you enjoyed! ♥♥♥♥♥

Yeah! Now we are talking! There is no crying in Metal ( you were getting a little teary eye there in Heaven and Hell). Just kidding, cry away if you want to. Anyway , great reaction . Always enjoy watching your channel and reactions.
1:01:30 that's tony using a volume pedal to give his guitar a swelling effect. the notes come in lightly with no pick attack
Great suggestions! I would add Falling off the edge of the world. Love the way that song picks up.🤘🏻
I love the album dehumanizer from 92 that album is great and in particular the song "I" that shit is heavy as hell.
Masters of Reality is my favourite album. Love it so much.
Its metal! Need more volume!
!😁
Since you like Dio era and Dio's sound, I suggest taking a listen to Martin era and the album Headless Cross, it's excellent 🤌 and it has a lot of the same elements and a lot of catchy stuff. I'd also say Iommi does his most technical work on that album, he is shredding like many didn't believe he could there.
A record a year was "par for the course" for metal bands then and into the eighties. I heard Dave Mustaine say though that an album every 2 years is par for the course for them though.
great song reaction
It seems to me that Neon Knights runs slightly too fast. I know Die Young from RHINO's channel runs about 3.5% fast for some reason and I suspect it's the same with this.
Black Sabbath (self-titled, 1970), Paranoid, 1970 and Master of Reality, 1971 (I hope I got that right)
Black Sabbath! Best of them all.
Why this girl are very very cute.... Her voice are true amazing... Metalheads have heart 😆
Music transcends time remember the great composers like Bethoven and Mozart were both born in the late 1700's
Symptoms of the Universe is one of my favorites of вlаск Sавватн ✝️
War Pigs - dual guitar leads was not uncommon, but dual bass riffs were.
You are gorgeous! Seeing you enjoy Sabbath was amazing. Please do more. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Master of Reality are loaded with awesome jams.
Dio is the best singer all time
Deep Purple, Rainbow and Judas Priest needs to be next. Some songs from Purple (Speed King, Child In Time, Hard Lovin' Man, Fireball, Highway Star, Lazy) are very foundational of heavy metal.
42:37 I was literally going to write this same exact comment.
You have to visit Dio discography!
My favourite Metal song of all time ever. With lyrics written by Osbourne “Junior’s Eyes”.
Hey, checkout "Band Geeks" version of this..the lead vocalist looks a lot like you too!!
Sub here young lady keep Metal Alive
There is a wide variety of more modern Sabbath inspired bands if youd like to explore that. Anything under the genre of "Stoner Doom Metal" is just Black Sabbath worship pretty much. There is a lot of oversaturation in that genre but some good albums too. Electric Wizard - Dopethrone and Elder - Lore are two goood examples
I always wondered what stoner doom metal was lol. I guess now I know! Thanks for the recommendations and for watching. Definitely going to check out your suggestions. Sabbath is amazing and I'm so glad they're finally on the channel.
