Gary, it's the Pink Floyd shirt. That's the secret. Wear that shirt when detecting! lol Awesome hunt!!! I've still only dug 2 Mercury dimes and both are 1944. lol A co-worker picked up a 1960 quarter that was _laying on the sidewalk._ I picked up a dime off the floor someone had dropped and said I was rich. He laughed and told me he was richer than me and held up the quarter he picked up. As soon as I saw the color of it…lol
WOW ! Gary, what an incredible find. You never know what is under the ground until you dig it. Thanks for sharing a bit of history with us. BTW, Great outro John ! Really enjoyed the music
Like your friend said - "Holy $#!+" I have never seen a buckle like that on any channel. So happy for you guys, hope you find the other half next week!
You all did well, but Gary's buckle is outrageous- it just goes to further prove that we never know what's going to pop out of the ground next. Big time Congrats Gary for that find of a lifetime!!
That was an unbelievable find from Gary, way to go and I liked the P. Floyd shirt. Like you said John ,you never know what you might dig up. There is literally a treasure in the ground. Way to go fellows, really enjoyed this one. 👍👌
great job gentlemen! Always enjoy watching your videos, so many historical relics there, tokens are BOSS! Take care and thanks for another cool outing.
That's what I did when I dug a wreath half. I used a pulse inductor and dug every damn nail but no tongue. I did get some deep coins using the pulse machine though. The crazy thing is the tongues usually broke before the wreath so he got the best half to find. If he does hit the wreath it could go up to $7,500 if the wreath is as nice as the tongue.
Great hunt, congratulations to Gary on finding that beautiful militia belt plate! What an amazing piece of history. You just never know where that next amazing find will come from, well done gentlemen! Good luck on your next hunt! 👍
When I find stuff like that where houses used to be I always assume some kid way back in the day was probably in the yard playing with dads or granddads stuff and lost it in the bottom of a gi joe hole he dug or who knows. Regardless of how they ended up where you found them they’re still incredible finds.
Loved the video! That Militia buckle half is awesome. It's my favorite style with the full palmetto tree on the tongue. The other side would have had a wreath around it.
Wifey's hubby here....the round medalion with inscribed '#1 1899' looks like it might be an old postal tag of some sort, as do the locks and the key labeled "U.S.P.S."
Brilliant, well done fella`s, would be interestin to find out who made the lock ? i found a really old lock here in the uk, made by the Eagle lock company in the usa.
Congrats Gary, phenomenal find with the buckle half!! Ya'lls hunts beat the hell outs mine any day!! Well most days anyhow 👍 Silvers and Wheaties for each of you, score! IHPs too 😀
If the house is the one, I'm thinking about it was cut into sections and moved down the road where it sat for years in pieces and ruined. It was a beautiful home, sad the people that owned it let it ruin the way it did.
Maybe Gary can chime in, he does browse the comments. I know it was a deep trashy signal so I would guess jumpy before digging. Maybe he can air test it when he gets back from Germany, he's on vacation right now. We may do a follow up video on it!
That's a tongue from a tongue and wreath militia buckle. You never know where you can find anything. I'm in NJ where we dig so many Revo War relics but there wasn't any battles in NJ in the Civil War but I dug a US oval buckle plate behind a colonial home about 5 blocks from the old train station and I always wondered if a soldier came home by train and lost it walking the tracks to his back yard or he lived there and somehow he wound up losing it at a later time but regardless how it wound up there all that matters is it did and I dug it up in shock because the US buckles are pretty self explanatory. It would've been nice finding a New Jersey militia but that US plate is well treasured addition with my Rev buckles and relics. I actually have a wreath half of a Rev War tongue and wreath buckle also. I must have gone back 20 times looking for the tongue but its just not there. Still it is a 1 in a million find even only being half the buckle. People will offer you crazy money for it I had people on treasurenet detecting forum trying to get me to sell it but I wouldn't sell it for anything. I would rather dig relics then coins all day long. We always find coins but relics are the real prize IMO anyway. Great hunt guys those general service buttons are pre 1900. Around 1900 they started using iron on the back I dug some and had the iron backs dated to 1900 by a museum curator so yours predate 1900. Probably Spanish America war by the size of the coat
I definitely would rather have the buckle or even the tag or that 1800’s lock over the silver but I love relics over silver coins even if they are worthless.
Congratulations 😮 Gary!!! That’s definitely what John said “A find of a lifetime!” Great video as always!
