    I can't imagine this album not being on a rock top 20 of all time. So rare where every song is flawless. RIP Chris!

    This song kept me going through high school when shit was tough. I was depressed and tired and I had few friends and I felt alone but I pulled through, and now I have a chance to start over. Thank you Soundgarden!

    This album reminds me of elements of pearl jam, stone temple pilots and even blind melon. Down on the upside is the most unique of all their albums and that's saying something as all their albums have always brought something new

    This tune got me through my late teens, there I said it......I've been on a King Animal trip for a bit now..... absolute one if the best bands ever.....we miss you Chris....and we appreciate all Soundgarden, as whole have us.......my life is better because of your efforts .... cheers friends

    That fill into the song by Cameron! Blimey, that guy really found an original voice playing in this band. What a group of musicians they were. Rip Chris and may Kim, Ben and Matt rock on for many more years yet!

      we will never know who influenced who first... if it was Glenn Hughes that influenced Chris (Chris was already recording distorted vocals like this in Badmotorfinger 1990) Glenn Hughes came out with that song "Boy Can Sing the Blues" in 1992 (I think it was from that point on that people started calling him "Voice of Rock") I assume there was definitely some influence from Chris Cornell from 1990 to 1992... who knows

      it's so fucking weird that I can't hear Matt Cameron's drums when he records with Pearl Jam... not sure if it's the recording technique that makes that big of a difference... same guy, but it's not the same thing

    Cornell even admitted "Dusty" was "pretty positive for a Soundgarden song", describing it as an opposite to the previous album's "Fell On Black Days".---from wiki

      I can't listen to Superunknown too often because it puts me right back into the "dark depression" cycle... heavy shit...
      Can't mess with much of that kind of energy anymore these days
      Highly productive energy though

    I used to not like this song for all its quirks and weirdness, but it grew on me. Much like the rest of this album. I especially love that bridge with the awesome bass riff.
    This album is a grower!!! It's bizarre but give it a chance!

    Painting pictures with sounds and words... Amazing...
    The way he "exhales" right before the lyrics kick in always painted the picture in my head of someone blowing the clouds away from the sky, like you're done with self-pity depression and it's standing up again to get back on track, coming back from a recharge break
    Or could be just a manic episode
    which feels glorious but the crashes are fucking awful

    i think this album is even better than Superunknown, which was also great, but a little bit heavier imo. I prefer a lighter Soundgarden.

      WarioWareProductions I prefer Superunknown. I love this album too of course but there is something about Superunknown that has always attracted me. I like the dark feel to it.

    The info on Soundgarden is so lame, who was the drummer? Does anyone else just listen to the songs just to hear the awesome drumming by this guy? I keep trying to air drum to him, and I keep missing. Dang.

      Matt Cameron. Dude is a beast and wrote Rhinosaur from this album. Also wrote the best song from King Animal, By Crooked Steps.

    @VintageSanford imo CC was only good in Soundgarden; Temple sounds too heavy for my tastes, and audioslave reeks of mediocrity.
    That being said, i'm not familiar with his solo work, so no complaints there.

      Nirvana was a mainstream puppet band that made 6 good songs for popularity . Nirvana doesn’t come close to soundgarden when it comes to songs that mean anything. Kurt Cobain made no sense at all. Only makes sense that you’d make garbage when you’re high on heroin everyday.

    I saw SG performing in 1996 shortly before the split up. I was following SG reunion over the last few years. I hoped to see them one more time over 20 years later. I am very sad that Chris is dead now. R.I.P.

    Crisis was beyond gifted,after Andrew OD he first writes temple of dog in tribute to his friend,then gets the remaining members of motherlovebone to come play on the album,he brought them all together,oh and Eddie Vedder and I have to say thank you all,pj,sg,stp,aic,nva
