I don't know why this is surprising to anyone, especially racing such a short distance...I used to do 200' ATV dirt drags and when I first got the 660 raptor I had at the time it was bone stock and still did 0-60 in about 4.2 seconds, slightly quicker than most Dodge vipers...Its weight to horsepower ratios aren't even comparable and if that 450 is now a 500 , I highly doubt they just did a big bore kit and didn't go higher compression and a port job...

1111muddog if you put a smaller back sprocket and a Pro circut pipe, it will really tame it down. But i have stock gearing and the FMF pipe... its set up for all mid range power.
no one can say anything about how built the trx 450 is compared to the ford mustang. The four wheeler only has one cylinder compared to the fords eight cylinders. I think the trx is still impressive and there aint nothing you gay ford fans can say to change my opinion
@traxxasmaxx33 No it was a production engine. GM mixed those parts together to make there own de-stroked 327 to meet c.i. requirements. Yes you can make your own yourself, but it was a factory option as well.

Nice video! I had a CRF450R which was the fastest thing I'd ever ridden, I can't imagine with the extra rubber you have there how fast that accelerates...
@1024ceejay im talking from experience, my 1/8 mile was 74 mph, 1/4 was 93, that quads top speed is probably 70mph. race should be closer. i still lean toward the stang if its really a 14.0 car.
It does a lot. If you shave the front off it will help hold the front end down. My YFZ used to pull up coming over hills way worse than it does now that I've shaved half of my plastics.

In a race, any bit of weight you can shave off makes a difference. People often take out the headlight too. I would say just headlights and cut plastics takes about 4-5 pounds off. Almost all race quads have cut fenders. Just a pound can literally make a difference.

@hpibajajumper Racers do it to strip weight (as the dirt from the wheels doesnt get stuck on the fenders, which weighs the bike down)

Cosmetic preference is right along with weight savings and depending on the make and model some can creat drag.
